- Welcome back to my channel it's feels like a very long time since I was out fishing but I am so pleased to be back. In this video I visit Kinkell Bridge on the River Earn for 2 days fishing. This is day 1 of both my visit to Kinkell Bridge and Series 3.
Kinkell offers Salmon, Sea Trout, Grayling and Trout fishing. The Salmon and Sea Trout season starts on February 1st with fish running, during that month Kinkell has seen fish of over 30lb’s caught. The Salmon season runs up until October 31st. Sea Trout begin their main runs from the beginning of May onwards. The River Earn and indeed the Kinkell beat is renowned in Scotland for having one of the most prolific Sea Trout runs. Grayling fishing is also available and is very popular throughout the winter months from November 1st through to January 31st.

Hi Chris I have fished Castle No 1 and caught my first salmon Congash burn 15/2/2009 22lb good memories tight lines
Oh wow, and congash is a great pool too 😀 thanks for sharing 👍
Great video Chris. Great to fish with you again at Tulchan. Looking forward to seeing how you get on when you fish the Findhorn and Fochabers association on the Spey.
Cheers Toby, it was a great time fishing with you again, see you in May maybe
Great to see you back Chris. That looks a great beat for the money! Tight lines for the season ahead and look forward to watching your adventures!
Thanks! You too!
Glad to see you back on the water.
Thanks 😊
Welcome back Chris, I've missed watching the channel while sat at work down here in Kernow. All the best for 2024 and hopefully you'll get a Bar of Silver soon!
Cheers Simon
Good to see your back. I fished Kinkell a few months back for the grayling, nice stretch of water, hopefully I'll get a day or 2 on it during the summer months.
Thanks so much, I will definitely return to Kinkell
Nice to see you back Chris. I don't fish for salmon. I am a trout man myself just love your videos.
Glad you like them!
Nice intro Chris and thank you. For those of us who are spey geeks, would you continue to share the fly rods and lines you choose just out of curiosity. Great drone video and thank you for the references in regards to understanding the river - very cool 😎
I Absolutely will James , thanks very much
It's good to see your great video again👍👊
Thanks 👍
So it begins....
🤩🤩🤩
Let battle commence 🤣👍
Good to see you back out on the water, great video.... as always. Fished Kinkell a few times, some nice water. Try changing things up a bit maybe, different flies, weights, size., tips. Willie Guns of course being me, lol or Monkeys
Thanks I will bear that in mind. Tight lines for your season too 👍
looking forward to it.
Proper job
Great to see you back on the water again. Sorry I couldn't manage to tulchan. Feel rubbish about that.
Next year 👍
Tight lines chris will up date you on my 3 days on castle grant beat 2 next week
Please do, looking forward to hearing how you get on. Shame we couldn't make our dates match this yeqr
Argh!! the agony and suspense of waiting for a whole week for the latest installment. Thats just not fair Chris! 😅
hahaha thanks Steve, I hope it will be worth the wait
Nice film Chris maybe see you this season 😊
Fingers crossed!
Maybe a delvine trip ? I do a good burger no bun lol
Good to see you back out on the water again Chris. Do you happen to know what the river height was that day? Perhaps a bit on the low side? It's a beat I'm keen to try this season. Tight lines for your coming trips!
Yes it was quite low but i didn't check the levels before i went however i have now fished with the ghillie Ben and I am sure if you gave him a call he would suggest the best days to come.
Might be worth booking a day at low house on the Eden Cumbria on your way back, £25 a day fly and spinning allowed depending on river height, 2 lads landed 3 springers biggest being 23lb and had a further 2 brief encounters last week, big weir at the top that acts as a temperature barrier
Also great video and even better to see you back, tip with the new net ( if it’s the one I’m thinking of)
The 2 pressstuds/buttons on the, I aways keep mine unclipped from tge carry position, so when you e got a fish on you can simply slip the net off and pull the handle instead of the of trying to press the button down and release the net up the shaft
Thanks i will have a look
Ah now that is great advice thank you 😊
When you on the association water water at fortes pal ?
Maybe Friday or Saturday not sure yet it all depends on if the car gets fixed properly tomorrow
Welcome back Chris. Little safety highlight, I personally wouldn't strap anything over my lifejacket that could impede proper inflation. Lovely video thanks for posting.
Good tip! I leave the net on the bank, it's impossible to carry and cast with everything
@@CornishChrisTheFish I guess its difficult for you being on unfamiliar waters and never knowing if youre going to disappear down a hole. I bought a Pamaris life jacket a few years ago and it remains in its original packaging as they're a pain in the butt and I know my river. Stay safe pal ..
Yeah it is, I prefer having the life jacket on just in case and it also is where i mount my camera
