  • My first day of fishing with the Perth and District Angling Association (www.pdaa.co.uk) and you find me at Pitnacree & Balnabeggan. An awesome 2 mile stretch of fishing on the Upper Tay near Aberfeldy. I met Ian, an amazing ghillie who showed me the entire beat from top to tail and was a most generous host. This is clearly a 2 day beat, I needed at least 2 days to cover all the water so I plan to return here very soon.

The new rod will not last long if you treat it like that when your fly gets stuck 🤨

Excellent video as usual, very impressed by that beautiful beat (and Iain the Ghillie!). The water looks very very good and I must check it out! Thanks for producing and sharing!

We have all been there-point the rod at the snagged fly and either handline or walk/wade backwards; turn your face away unless you've glasses because these things can fly like a .22 bullet when they decide to. Alternative is that you could damage a lovely rod-or your face ! That said thanks for the video-looked like a lovely beat , small enough that I could maybe manage it.

Maybe i should have featured the whole 10 minute battle doing everything you said. In fact it could have been a whole video itself. 🤣🤣

Really enjoyed that fishing trip. The new rod looks terrific to cast, and definitely looking forward to your day's on the mighty Tay. I believe you used to have to live in Perthshire to get the PDAA ticket, certainly thinking about it for next season..tight lines Chris

You'd love it Colin. Did you get any joy on the Stinchar the day after we fished Upper Redgorton?

One of the first salmon beats I ever cast a line too and blanked on. A lovely place to wet a line, but I will admit that I flinched when you tried to rip the fly out of that snag. Please never do that again.
