@@leviticus6105 From pictures and posts on Reddit, it seems that sits in between WOLED black levels and glossy QD-OLED raised blacks. So the purple tint is still there but not as raised or noticeable. It looks like if you are viewing the monitor off axis this purple tint is more prominent in the G80SD.
Mine will be delivered tomorrow 🔥 actually got two of these since I’m replacing my dual monitor set up, I was looking for something with a high refresh rate and 4K and OLED was just the cherry on top. Don’t really care for the smart features, but the panel looks really good and I love the look of this monitor and the RGB ring on the back. Came in Friday morning, they are fantastic! 0 complaints so far, can’t believe how thin these are too, yeah these were absolutely worth every cent, I don’t care too much for the smart features but the tizen software has some quite impressive software and it’s much more responsive than I thought. Overall I’ll be happy with these for a few years at least.
If you want to make big views then it is an race to the clock for the first RUclipsr who compares the Alienware aw3225qf, the lg32gs95ue, the Samsung OLED G8(2024). In an in depth video in all kinds of light circumstances.
Matte vs Gloss isn’t worse or better since they both have pros and cons. For me, Matte is great for brighter setups especially if you have no control over lighting setups. You lose a little clarity though, but it’s not that bad in my opinion. Gloss is superb in the dark, looks more clear, but suffers with lights and reflections. I think this G8 has a great matte coating , but if you don’t like that, then thankfully other brands have a glossier coating
I know the ASUS PG32UCDM is glossy, and there’s some from AORUS and MSI, but ever since they launched , I have yet to get the chance to order it 🥲 sold out for months now
@@FIREWOLFTECH Same here in the Netherlands, the LG is well stocked and i hope this Samsung will also be. I am very temped to pick the Samsung, for the greater colorrange and the passive cooling solution. Although, i am more of an LG fanboy (OLED TV = LG, my current 4K IPS screen = LG).

Text in my eyes are very clear thanks to the 4K resolution (137PPI) and better subpixel layout. If this is your first OLED, I think you'll be impressed 🔥 I'll be dropping a more detailed review within a week
Same here! It was such an impulse buy after seeing the reveal trailer, I’ve never wanted something immediately before, lol. It arrived right before i had to leave to work so I can’t mess with it. I’m so excited because I’ve been meaning to upgrade my monitor for so long already and on paper this thing is a beast!
So do i have to connect the monitor to PC (with the remote) and/or skip the menus every time? Or can I just turn on the PC and get my "not smart" monitor somehow?
@Dan-ju5gk okay got it set up. It's awesome!!! The matte finish feels like a cross breed between glossy and matte. It's hard to explain but I really like it. I have quite bit of ambient light and it seems to swallow it up like a blackhole😆. So far, I'm super happy with it. It is absolutely perfect for my use case. A bit of work and a bit of fun. The smart features run great and are snappy. Power brick is something I need to figure out... I have a smaller sit stand desk, but nothing a few velcro straps can't fix. I have it on the stand, which is quite nice, but I already ordered a monitor arm for it, which will give me a bit extra height. I'm looking to have it clear my laptop screen in front. But yeah, so far, so good!
Just got mine this thing is a beast. I’m coming down from an LG C3 42in wanting more refresh rate and let me tell you if you put up a white background and stare within like 6inches away you can make out the coating but I did a test with my C3 with a white background and it’s honestly not that big of a deal the tiny details are visible by both. I want the highest refresh highest resolution possible and the largest screen and right now this monitor with 300 coupon at Bestbuy cmon guys can’t go wrong. Until they come out with a 42in glossy 240hz I’m sticking with this one

I just ordered one, I realllly wanted a Glossy Coating but the 300$ Samsung rewards discount being offered combined with cash back and EDU discount this made ~$600 which is half the price of the glossy Alienware. I was actually going to order the Alienware last night but really happy I waited. Just hoping the Coating is better implemented than the Neo G7 matte finish which I currently have

got the monitor last week here in EU, really like it so far, alot of people complain about the matte finish it's not bad at all, the monitor has other things going agianst it that poeple should complain about, hopefully they will fix some stuff with further firmware updates
I returned mine after being given wrong info by Samsung. Chat support said the 3 year warranty DID cover burn in and it turns out he was wrong and a manager told me they DO NOT cover burn in. What a mess.
In my opinion, it’s better. I prefer the matte coating, but it’s going to be up to you at the end of the day whether you’re gonna love it or hate it since you’ve gotten accustomed to the semi gloss

This monitor directly competes with LG's 4K WOLED panel on the 32GS95UE. Other competitors will either use this Samsung's QD-OLED panel or the LG WOLED panel. I find that a lot of times, other brands will include more features, better or longer warranty, or will change the coating on the screen. Text rendering is really good, SO much better than the original QD-OLED on the 34" G8 OLED. Clarity is where there's a huge change. Samsung went with a matte display which loses some clarity over the semi-gloss found in ASUS/MSI/Gigabyte There's pros and cons. Don’t have any best settings yet, left everything the way it is, just increased brightness to max. Vs PG32UCDM, I haven’t personally tried it yet so I can’t really say
Can you comment on Mac connectivity. How is the text clarity? Of course missing out on USBC is a bummer, but I wouldn’t mind connecting through DisplayPort or HDMI. Is this monitor also colour accurate? Plan on using this for editing too. I understand that the non-glossy coating is gonna affect text sharpness this but just any opinions on how the overall experience is when connected to Mac?
Hey! Does this monitor have the VRR control setting (that removes vrr flickering)? Does it have VRR flickering? Does it work with Gsync without flickering? Does it have scanlines? Have a nice day everyone!
Vrr control reduces the VRR range to reduce flickering. ASUS also implemented this in some of their monitors. This isn't a fix, but rather a work around. For example, if the VRR range is from 48hz-240hz, vrr control would reduce this to 200hz-240hz, meaning unless you have stable fps In that range, your likely not using VRR anymore which is why flickering is gone. You can download CRU (Custom Reolution Untility) and just do this manually yourself with any monitor. But yes, this monitor along with any oled will have VRR flicker with unstable framerates or frame times including this one. However, it seems as though the new LG UltraGear 32GS95UE has been the best when it comes to flickering. There are youtube videos of people comparing the LG to various QD oleds including this one on the samsung G80SD. This is the reason I bought the LG despite the higher price.
I ordered this G80SD, but unfortunately I'm missing a few things. PD/USB-C (65-90W) KVM, PIP, PBP features. Premium, expensive, but I don't understand why these had to be left out? sad...
For those features, unfortunately you'd have to look at other brands like ASUS who takes the same panel and adds in a lot of those features (PG32UCDM for example) but if you want matte look into PG32UCDP which has USB-C, KVM, and other features with no Smart TV interface
I returned a neo g7 because I hated the coating on it. It had that oily look to it. The picture was beautiful, but I didn't like the coating. Is this one the same, or does it not have the same look???
Depends on whether you want to use DLAA or DLSS (Quality, Balanced, Performance, or Ultra Performance). You get ranges from 160 FPS - 220-ish +depending on those options 🔥
Did you connect via DisplayPort or HDMI? I noticed your comment about the power connector not going all the way in and I noticed the same thing but felt normal. However, the DisplayPort connector felt unsecure...like it felt like it slightly pushed in when connecting. Just curious if you noticed the same?
I connected DisplayPort for PC ,HDMI for PS5, USB upstream and my gaming keyboard usb, they all felt “lose” like it didn’t go all the way in so I noticed the same. No issues though

I have to say, this monitor has the absolute best AR coating I have ever used. In a lit room the monitor still performs amazingly and I have ZERO....I mean NO SINGLE REFLECTION....on my IPS LG 27GN950-B I could always see a little glow from my ambient lights...but this monitor shows nada....truly blown away by the way it handles room lighting.
The higher resolution and better OLED screen is in my opinion a huge difference. You might not miss the ultra wide since 34 to 32 isn’t a huge difference and you might like the taller screen
For me I prefer super ultra wides, but 32”4K is really nice, so if I had to choose a main ,I’d go for either this G8 OLED or LG 32GS95UE. I like the versatility of matte coatings. I’m hoping for higher resolution oled ultra wides to come out to really compete with pixel density
Nice first impressions video but can you confirm if this monitor is g sync compatible? On the introduction video for Samsung it says it is but on the website it only shows that it is amd free sync compatible.
At this moment on the current NVIDIA drivers, the control panel doesn’t show that this monitor is G-Sync compatible, however I had it enabled during gaming. In NVIDIA’s website, the G80SD is not listed, but could be in the future. For example, when the G9 oled first dropped, it wasn’t G-Sync compatible certified when I was using it, but now it is.
I bought this at best buy Saturday the 8th. I got it hooked up to my ps5. I play mlb the show @ 120hz and it works great! When I play madden which is 60 hz I see white lines and dots all over. Is there a way to fix this? Thank you for any advice.
I’ve been using many OLED monitors and they’ve all been good for productive work. I will say that the first generation oled monitors had slight noticeable color fringing and were also less bright. This new gen QD-OLED is a good jump 🔥 I spend like 80% productively because of my channel 😅

With a 4080 you will not get stuttering or lagging on this monitor cause the gpu is capable of handling everything, but you might not be using the monitor its full potential capacity . If you want to be sure you can use it at 100% go for a gsync monitor just to be sure everything works like it should
At the moment no, but I’m pretty sure it’ll eventually get the certification. For example, the PG32UCDM uses the same QD-OLED panel and is listed as G-Sync compatible. Right now, you would have to manually enable VRR on the menu settings, and enable G-Sync in control panel. So far, I haven’t experienced any stuttering or tears. I’m pretty it’ll be fine
I never tried switching the resolution to 1440P so I can’t say for sure, but I do know DLSS downscales the resolution depending on the quality which works great
I think I'm a OG when it comes to using a glossy screen.. I have used the LG 32 SL 8000 sinds it's release back in 2009.. So i'm fine using a matte screen now hahah
Thanks for the feedback 🔥 I think burn-in at this point is minor especially when oled has been around for a long time now many new devices are starting to use oled. But thankfully there are other brands that offer longer warranties. As for gloss, I think it really depends on your setup. Gloss is awesome and I do prefer it, but that’s because I can control my own lighting. There are pros and cons, but this matte display on the G80S isn’t that bad in my opinion
@@Boostedbeard Call technical Support they all said Burn in is covered in the 3 year warrently "As long as you didn't caused damage or spilage " to the screen spoke too 3 different technical reps not sales people and that's what they said, you can look at all the scare tactics and miss information all you want online , but call them Directly and that what they say, and don't ask their chat Bot. Also dead pixel is covered in the warrently
I asked samsung cs, they didn’t give a clear answer as they said it depends on the engineer to determine that burn whether it is caused by man-made damage.

I let in as much natural sunlight plus studio lights to get an idea of how it handles bright environments. You’ll notice on the bottom right where the sun hits it the most. On horizon forbidden west, studio lights are on, but this I used blacked out curtains to block the sun. Another reason as well is the camera adjusting it which I should’ve payed more attention 😅 my daughter woke up from her nap at that time so I didn’t check
They’re both great since they use the same QD-OLED with the major difference being glossier on AW vs matte on the G8. Another difference is that the G8 is flat while the AW is curved. In my opinion, I think it’ll come down to your setup, lighting, and whether or not you really need glossy or matte. It’s good to have options 🔥
They’re both great 4K 240Hz QD-OLED monitors. At 32-inches I’m personally liking flat screen better. As for the coating, I don’t mind matte at all, and makes it easier to use during the day letting in natural sun. They both have their pros and cons, where the G8 has the annoying smart OS
I would say it’s more about what you prefer, competitiveness, and how much performance your PC can output. The G8 has a bigger screen with higher resolution vs smaller screen with faster FPS on the G6z 240 vs 360 isn’t a huge difference in my opinion, but could give you a slight edge especially since 1440P means better performance

It looks extremely dim. Also thing about youtube. It looks like the colors pop but in real life it doesn't look like this. This is how i got fooled into buying the samsung oddy neo g7 32" On youtube that monitor looked amazing. Got it home hooked it up and it looked meh in HDR and the colors were decent nothing to right home about
I would maybe consider it if: -I was a professional gamer -It was a 23.8 inch monitor Ngl I was pretty nice at black ops 3 with a ps4 and a 32 inch TV, but now that I use a 144hz 23.8” monitor, I wouldn’t go back to 32” even if it is 240hz
A screen that small (todays standard lol) you would do better if you moved to a 27-inch first. The G6 I think would be better for you Hoping Black Ops 6 ends up being a banger 🔥
It honestly just dropped out of nowhere. We knew it was coming, but to my knowledge there was never an official date. So I assume UK will eventually get it on a random drop date

none taken. Since I test out new monitors all the time using them for gaming and productivity, I can make a review based off of my experiences. Its similar for other reviewers, especially when it pays off to have it earlier. This video isn't a review, just an unboxing and first impressions so I should have a review video within a week. For longevity, its hard to test out for more than a month when there's new monitors being released all the time 🥲 I'm only one person at the end of the day
Good review dude, but imo, this is not a monitor, its a 32 OLED tv, this thing has the same settings as my Samsung TV. I just returned mine, got it today and man this is missing alot of real monitor features, like what asus has, imo. For me the monitor does not get bright enough in game mode or any other mode. Yes the blacks are nice and the colors are ok, But I really do not see how to cilibrate this monitor. This is just my opinion. The ASUS PG32UCDM is a way better real monitor with way more monitor settings, plus also better pixel cleaning settings.

got the monitor last week here in EU, really like it so far, alot of people complain about the matte finish it's not bad at all, the monitor has other things going agianst it that poeple should complain about, hopefully they will fix some stuff with further firmware updates
I returned mine after being given wrong info by Samsung. Chat support said the 3 year warranty DID cover burn in and it turns out he was wrong and a manager told me they DO NOT cover burn in. What a mess.
That’s odd, it’s under my impression that warranties especially on OLEDs would account for burn-in. I’ll look into it !

I’m going with the Gigabyte Aorus FO32U2. I prefer flat screen and I really like the UI. It gives you custom picture setting profiles, too.

In my opinion, it’s better. I prefer the matte coating, but it’s going to be up to you at the end of the day whether you’re gonna love it or hate it since you’ve gotten accustomed to the semi gloss

This monitor directly competes with LG's 4K WOLED panel on the 32GS95UE. Other competitors will either use this Samsung's QD-OLED panel or the LG WOLED panel.
I find that a lot of times, other brands will include more features, better or longer warranty, or will change the coating on the screen.
Text rendering is really good, SO much better than the original QD-OLED on the 34" G8 OLED.
Clarity is where there's a huge change. Samsung went with a matte display which loses some clarity over the semi-gloss found in ASUS/MSI/Gigabyte

Vrr control reduces the VRR range to reduce flickering. ASUS also implemented this in some of their monitors. This isn't a fix, but rather a work around. For example, if the VRR range is from 48hz-240hz, vrr control would reduce this to 200hz-240hz, meaning unless you have stable fps In that range, your likely not using VRR anymore which is why flickering is gone. You can download CRU (Custom Reolution Untility) and just do this manually yourself with any monitor.
But yes, this monitor along with any oled will have VRR flicker with unstable framerates or frame times including this one. However, it seems as though the new LG UltraGear 32GS95UE has been the best when it comes to flickering. There are youtube videos of people comparing the LG to various QD oleds including this one on the samsung G80SD.
This is the reason I bought the LG despite the higher price.
I ordered this G80SD, but unfortunately I'm missing a few things. PD/USB-C (65-90W) KVM, PIP, PBP features. Premium, expensive, but I don't understand why these had to be left out? sad...
For those features, unfortunately you'd have to look at other brands like ASUS who takes the same panel and adds in a lot of those features (PG32UCDM for example) but if you want matte look into PG32UCDP which has USB-C, KVM, and other features with no Smart TV interface

I can’t really say since I use glasses that block a lot of those eye strain lights, but it does have eye saver modes to reduce eye strain fatigue

Depends on whether you want to use DLAA or DLSS (Quality, Balanced, Performance, or Ultra Performance). You get ranges from 160 FPS - 220-ish +depending on those options 🔥

Did you connect via DisplayPort or HDMI? I noticed your comment about the power connector not going all the way in and I noticed the same thing but felt normal. However, the DisplayPort connector felt unsecure...like it felt like it slightly pushed in when connecting. Just curious if you noticed the same?
I connected DisplayPort for PC ,HDMI for PS5, USB upstream and my gaming keyboard usb, they all felt “lose” like it didn’t go all the way in so I noticed the same. No issues though

I have to say, this monitor has the absolute best AR coating I have ever used. In a lit room the monitor still performs amazingly and I have ZERO....I mean NO SINGLE REFLECTION....on my IPS LG 27GN950-B I could always see a little glow from my ambient lights...but this monitor shows nada....truly blown away by the way it handles room lighting.

The higher resolution and better OLED screen is in my opinion a huge difference.
You might not miss the ultra wide since 34 to 32 isn’t a huge difference and you might like the taller screen

For me I prefer super ultra wides, but 32”4K is really nice, so if I had to choose a main ,I’d go for either this G8 OLED or LG 32GS95UE. I like the versatility of matte coatings.

Nice first impressions video but can you confirm if this monitor is g sync compatible? On the introduction video for Samsung it says it is but on the website it only shows that it is amd free sync compatible.
At this moment on the current NVIDIA drivers, the control panel doesn’t show that this monitor is G-Sync compatible, however I had it enabled during gaming.
In NVIDIA’s website, the G80SD is not listed, but could be in the future.
For example, when the G9 oled first dropped, it wasn’t G-Sync compatible certified when I was using it, but now it is.

Depends entirely on what you do/play with it. 4070 wont be able to hit 240fps on 4K with newer games and high graphics settings.
I bought this at best buy Saturday the 8th. I got it hooked up to my ps5. I play mlb the show @ 120hz and it works great! When I play madden which is 60 hz I see white lines and dots all over. Is there a way to fix this? Thank you for any advice.
Have you tried enabling VRR in the menu settings ? I haven't experienced those white lines and dots.

I’ve been using many OLED monitors and they’ve all been good for productive work. I will say that the first generation oled monitors had slight noticeable color fringing and were also less bright.
This new gen QD-OLED is a good jump 🔥

@lostalraedy free sync is for AMD videocards; gsync is for nvidia videocards. Which videocard did you use to do the review?
With a 4080 you will not get stuttering or lagging on this monitor cause the gpu is capable of handling everything, but you might not be using the monitor its full potential capacity . If you want to be sure you can use it at 100% go for a gsync monitor just to be sure everything works like it should
At the moment no, but I’m pretty sure it’ll eventually get the certification. For example, the PG32UCDM uses the same QD-OLED panel and is listed as G-Sync compatible.
Right now, you would have to manually enable VRR on the menu settings, and enable G-Sync in control panel. So far, I haven’t experienced any stuttering or tears. I’m pretty it’ll be fine
Would you recommend this for 1440 gaming?
I never tried switching the resolution to 1440P so I can’t say for sure, but I do know DLSS downscales the resolution depending on the quality which works great

I think burn-in at this point is minor especially when oled has been around for a long time now many new devices are starting to use oled. But thankfully there are other brands that offer longer warranties.
As for gloss, I think it really depends on your setup. Gloss is awesome and I do prefer it, but that’s because I can control my own lighting. There are pros and cons, but this matte display on the G80S isn’t that bad in my opinion
if u call samsung they tell u that it has warrent on burn in as long as u didn't damage the screen

@@vipromeoyt I've reviewed the LG 32GS95UE and Alienware AW3225QF and without measuring, the brightness levels feel similar. Compared to older OLED monitors, it is noticeably brighter which is great
Get an ips. Why would you get a 1300 dollar monitor for office work. Ips is more color accurate. Oled is just color saturation

Why is it so dark on Forza?
I let in as much natural sunlight plus studio lights to get an idea of how it handles bright environments. You’ll notice on the bottom right where the sun hits it the most.
On horizon forbidden west, studio lights are on, but this I used blacked out curtains to block the sun.
Another reason as well is the camera adjusting it which I should’ve payed more attention 😅 my daughter woke up from her nap at that time so I didn’t check

They’re both great since they use the same QD-OLED with the major difference being glossier on AW vs matte on the G8.
Another difference is that the G8 is flat while the AW is curved.
In my opinion, I think it’ll come down to your setup, lighting, and whether or not you really need glossy or matte.

At 32-inches I’m personally liking flat screen better.
As for the coating, I don’t mind matte at all, and makes it easier to use during the day letting in natural sun.

I would say it’s more about what you prefer, competitiveness, and how much performance your PC can output. The G8 has a bigger screen with higher resolution vs smaller screen with faster FPS on the G6z
240 vs 360 isn’t a huge difference in my opinion, but could give you a slight edge especially since 1440P means better performance

It looks extremely dim. Also thing about youtube. It looks like the colors pop but in real life it doesn't look like this. This is how i got fooled into buying the samsung oddy neo g7 32"
On youtube that monitor looked amazing. Got it home hooked it up and it looked meh in HDR and the colors were decent nothing to right home about

Why arent you using HDR? You are losing peak brightness of around 1000nits. OLEDs canoot give good brigtness in SDR

none taken. Since I test out new monitors all the time using them for gaming and productivity, I can make a review based off of my experiences.
Its similar for other reviewers, especially when it pays off to have it earlier. This video isn't a review, just an unboxing and first impressions so I should have a review video within a week.
For longevity, its hard to test out for more than a month when there's new monitors being released all the time 🥲 I'm only one person at the end of the day
Good review dude, but imo, this is not a monitor, its a 32 OLED tv, this thing has the same settings as my Samsung TV. I just returned mine, got it today and man this is missing alot of real monitor features, like what asus has, imo. For me the monitor does not get bright enough in game mode or any other mode. Yes the blacks are nice and the colors are ok, But I really do not see how to cilibrate this monitor. This is just my opinion.
The ASUS PG32UCDM is a way better real monitor with way more monitor settings, plus also better pixel cleaning settings.
Most likely knowing samsung, I would of returned it from motion alone. If motion isnt right its a pass for me
