The chandeliers are particularly delicately graceful - complimenting the gilt decoration. Your combined artistic talents and dedicated craftsmanship are a testimony to your sheer genius.
It’s so refreshing to see a house being renovated properly with such care and attention going to the bits you can’t see, not just the bits you can. So many of these types of channels are painful to watch as they can’t really afford the properties and important structural work is not done correctly and it’s just covered over.
The salon seemed so daunting in the beginning. The work that both of you put into that room was amazing to watch. I'm sure that all the gilding and plaster work seemed like it would go on forever. Not knowing how the floor was laid out was a puzzle in itself. Adrian was up for the challenge though. The salon was transformed in the end to a beautiful room. The hallway was in just as bad a state, but you both turned an ugly ducking into a beautiful swan. You are both so talented, and I'm looking forward to what is to come in the new year. Hello! Seeing you hand stitch reminded me of a job I had in the 1970s doing hand sewing for a custom drapery business. Everything you folks have done to your chateau is done to perfection. If it gets a new owner they will be very fortunate. I bought a lovely large angel holding a torch figurine in a thrift store ($6.) and thought of you two. A good wipe down and a bit of very lightly highlighting on her with rose gold paint turned out well. She now holds up a white candle atop the torch and sits on an small antique, hand carved mahogany table. I wish you and your family a wonderful happy, healthy New Year! ❤
You have both accomplished so much this year!!! Not to mention the grandbaby, job change, do you get ferry miles like air miles?, completing two large portions of the chateau, mowing, gardening, working on a rather wonderful tan in the chateau pool, cleaning and fixing up the UK house, cleaning and hanging chandeliers, selling a car, 😭 stealing strawberries, wind surfing, clearing land... Great highlight vlog! But I did miss Carole's shorts. Although I watched throughout the year to see this compilation and a reminder of where you started and what you have achieved is amazing. amazing, still think the salon needs a huge gold/ cream rug, but do appreciate they are hard to find in good condition, as always your renovations are in keeping with the wonderful ladies age, nice modern touches where possible ( horse lamp) shame you are selling but i also have a grandchild and another on the way so i appreciate you want to be close so you can help and also be hands on to nurture and guide them growing up………❤❤

Perfectly wonderful transformation! Oh, that floor… I’m amazed. As Beth said - in one of the very first videos on this channel - ”Some say it can’t be done, but they don’t know my parents!” I’m paraphrasing, of course. The quote is not exact. May I ask something peculiar? It seems a bit odd to have that little table midfloor (at 7:05) - isn’t it better placed closer to the small sofa (the one in between the windows)? It just looks so lonely out there in the middle of the floor. Above is of course only a thought & let me now just say that I hope you are busy enjoying your Christmas 🎅 with family & friends!

Adrian and Carole, I’ve really enjoyed the progress this year on the Chateau. You are both extremely gifted. The transformation has been remarkable. Very few people could have done what you have done. Someone else could have hired a builder to do the restoration, but that doesn’t mean the results would have been successful. The typical builder would not have clue what a period correct Chateau should look like. Congratulations on the progress so far.
Following you on this adventure has been such a delight. Wish you could just keep at it and enjoy a life there, but it is a tribute to you all that we all trust you to have new adventures for you to enjoy and us to follow. Merry Christmas and wishing you your heart’s desire for 2024!

Adrian for your skills and knowledge from removing rotten joists, building support walls in the cellar and painstakingly working out how the parquet flooring should be laid, to Carol and your eye and patience in decorating and furnishing each room, even making and dressing those beautiful curtains in the salon. I wish I had your eye for interior decoration, and also Beth for her patience in videoing the progress and compiling the weekly programmes for us all to view. I've followed you since the beginning but I'd forgotten how absolutely dismal the hall was! What a transformation! Even in its dilapidated state the grand saloon had a forlorn, faded elegance to it, but the hall? Dismal!

amazing, still think the salon needs a huge gold/ cream rug, but do appreciate they are hard to find in good condition, as always your renovations are in keeping with the wonderful ladies age, nice modern touches where possible ( horse lamp) shame you are selling but i also have a grandchild and another on the way so i appreciate you want to be close so you can help and also be hands on to nurture and guide them growing up………❤❤

I have always appreciated the care and attention to detail that you both take when renovating. Adrian for the care he takes when he actually rebuilds floors instead of just glossing over them. May I ask something peculiar? It seems a bit odd to have that little table midfloor (at 7:05) - isn’t it better placed closer to the small sofa (the one in between the windows)?
It just looks so lonely out there in the middle of the floor.

Adrian and Carole, I’ve really enjoyed the progress this year on the Chateau. You are both extremely gifted. The transformation has been remarkable. Very few people could have done what you have done. Someone else could have hired a builder to do the restoration, but that doesn’t mean the results would have been successful. The typical builder would not have clue what a period correct Chateau should look like. Congratulations on the progress so far.
