    The sad thing is that President Camacho is legit a better leader than some I could name. Dude brought in the smartest person around to address their problems. Yeah, things went south for a bit, but when presented with evidence that Not Sure was right, Camacho admitted it and put him in a position of power because he was the right person for the job.

    The only film that overtime went from a comedy, to a horror, to a documentary.

    • @extantsanity
      @extantsanity Год назад +1

      No, it was a horrific documentary on day 1. When people share your political alignment, you're more inclined to believe those people are smart because you're emotionally motivated to conflate the positive feeling of belonging with the comforting feeling of being right. But if you pay attention to how your friends justify their positions, you'll realize how often your friends are going with the flow rather than actually thinking. I mean, we elected George W. Bush because people wanted to have A BEER with him. That was literally a talking point among voters.
      The only reason people are wising up to how fucked we are... is because the political discourse is so toxic that both sides are becoming aware of how absurd this all is. But with a 2-party system where both sides cling to power by sabotaging viable alternatives (hence Biden winning the primary despite the vast majority of liberals hating his guts, and conservative politicians all backing Trump over DeSantis despite many conservative voters jumping ship), we're forever going to have a hard time de-radicalizing public discourse.

It's more that the linear difficulty increase of those tests to compensate for the FE does not correlate with the real effective increase. I recently watched the interview with him on Joe Rogan and he talked about how miserable this movie was to make from budgeting to scheduling everything. The other hilarious thing he mentioned was the wardrobe designer telling him about these new plastic shoes that were terrible and perfect for the movie as there was no way they would ever get traction but looking at how popular Crocs became, he was astonished that people actually want to buy them... lol
    As far as foreshadowing the future goes, another one that was spot on and actually got the year right was the show "the last man on earth". Its about a pandemic that wipes out the entire population of the planet and he is the last one left. The timing was 100% correct for when it was set and when covid started spreading considering it was aired first in like 2015.

    - I think that Beef Supreme is played by the third Wilson brother. -- I genuinely find Joe's speech at Rehabilitation moving.
    - Can't say enough about how funny this movie is. Easy rewatch. VERY quotable. "What IS an electrolyte?!! DO'YA EVEN KNOW?!?!"
    - Fox News should HIRE the anchor from this movie. His cadence is on point. -- I'd like to think that if this had a sequel, or were made into a show, there would be an underground of secretly "smart" people in hiding, or hiding in plain site, and that Joe inspires them to come out of the darkness.

    The suffix "-cracy" means "rule of". So democracy is the rule of the people, idiocracy is the rule of the idiots.
