      I just want to know how much you'd make and sell something exactly like that. You know...someone might want to know and all. To inspire others to do it and maybe make a couple bucks to spend on more liqu...I mean nectar of the gods.

    I apologize for being wordy. I am a RUclips fan of yours. I am writing this to several presenters.
    About 60 years ago, I took high school woodshop. Thereafter, I learned a few basic things from my grandfather and father. Over the following 20+ years, I had neither the money nor the space to do any woodworking. About 25 years ago, some tools were passed on to my by parents, so I took over my garage, but my skill was rudimentary; the things I created were crude and imprecise, but I enjoyed the process.
    About 5 years ago, I got very sick. During my recovery, I discovered you and your colleagues on RUclips. Since then, I have been a junky watching mostly woodworking videos. I must THANK YOU and your colleagues for teaching me so very much. I moved to a new home and created a shop on casters (I have to move cars) and have tried many of the things YOU have taught me-and bought way too many new tools!.
    I now spend as much time as possible in my shop and have actually created some pretty good project products and shop furniture. Without you to help me through my convalescence and your clearly understandable videos, I don’t think I would be enjoying this hobby as I do. Thank you and the whole RUclips woodworking community.

      We are all here to learn. I grateful that you are back to good health and have a shop - with cars. I have a shop in the attic of a 2 1/2 story house. City wouldn't let me put in a larger shed & cited possible noise complaints. I'm getting plenty of exercise so at least my doctor is happy.

    The topic of project videos being dead has come up recently by others and I can't disagree more. I'd watch projects like this anytime. Quality built, solid techniques and skill. That's what people want to see, great job!

      Steve Ramsey and Matthias Wandel by any chance?

    • @CeeJayThe13th
      @CeeJayThe13th 3 года назад +7

      They're just basing that on the views. There's enough data out there to show what people are watching. I agree that aren't "dead" per se but they don't get as many views.
      If you watch (or listen to) Steve Ramsey's podcast, The Woodworking Talk Show, everybody including Jason from Bourbon Moth says that project videos get the least amount of views for them and are the most amount of work. Although I do love project videos myself, if it's something I don't want to make or I'm not curious to see how one goes together, I'm probably not going to watch either if I'm being totally honest with myself.

    The drawers look great, thanks man, and I learned quite a bit regarding the assembly. Just one thing - whisky/whiskey bottles are not designed to be stored on their sides. Wine is, with the cork wet, but bottles of whisky/whiskey have a different cork with a different purpose, and they're not supposed to be stored on their sides and wet. Just perhaps something to keep in mind for long-term storage!

    • @TmanIsHere
      @TmanIsHere Год назад +1

      I scrolled down to find this comment. Whiskey bottles, unlike wine bottles, should not be stored on their sides. The strong alcohol will impart too much flavor of the cork into the precious whiskey. I guess it's not too bad for a night of drinking, but not recommended beyond that.

    I don't even drink whiskey (almost everyone has that one type of liquor they ruined for themselves as a teenager and unfortunately this was mine) BUT this table is my favourite thing I've watched you make. Your build videos are always entertaining regardless, but I absolutely LOVE this design, as well as the way a bunch of fairly simple touches and ideas all came together so perfectly for the final aesthetic.

    I'm not a woodworker myself, but I love to see it done well and with enthusiasm. Really nice piece of furniture. Ye may have done something similar already, but why not some Bourbon Moth coasters made from miscellaneous scraps of various wood, with a logo-branded leather pad. Stack those in yer whiskey table. (I'm a Brit but I prefer a bottle of Bourbon to a bottle of Scotch, make of that what ye will). Great work man!

    I literally made a drawer yesterday out of necessity. In the day late, dollar short time I came across this video while drinking coffee ☕️ today. Those drawer slides would have been a great ideal. I used a different method, but keeping this in mind for any future drawers. BTW my redneck idea involved curtain rods/rails on bottom. Not pretty but it works.

    great video. I like that you used what you had. And also for the common wood worker, to use material without going over kill price wise for drawer slides. Yes they have their time and place over this, but I really appreciate this style.

    Having made drawers with wooden slides, keep a couple of things in mind: 1) make sure there is a gap between the drawer grove and slide large enough to account for seasonal expansion/contraction, otherwise come August, that drawer will not want to move and 2) the wood on wood drawer/slide combination will eventually begin to wear (given it may be many many years from now depending on use), but attaching the wooden slides with screws only (no glue) will make that repair dramatically easier...a couple of extra screws are plenty strong enough to hold up the drawer.
