Toughest outdoor watches: GShock, the end
Even better: casio f91w
To be fair Timex Ironman and Suunto make universally agreed tough outdoor watches.
Mudmaster or Mudman, to be more precise
Ummmmmmmm. No! So apparently it's not the End. Rather have a Sinn U50. Automatic. The End!!!
@@vvvhhhhhbbNo automatic watch is anywhere near as shock resistant as a G-Shock.
Breitling has gone full Timex.
You NEVER go full Timex
😂
You don't want to spend a few grand on a plastic quartz watch? You must be poor. Or smart.
Sinn and Damasko are both good choices, but where's the Mühle-Glashütte S.A.R.? Nice job, Tom. You're back in your groove.
I have a Damasko DC86. It is the toughest mechanical chronograph in existence. ❤ Made by a manufacturer who cares deeply about making things perfect, and down to earth. No pretentiousness. Just amazingly well engineered watches.
Tom you dude, you are getting your groove on with content and delivery!
Absolutely great to see.
Minor correction .... For the Tudor Pelagos FXD ... "uni-directional bezel" isn't entirely correct. My black one has a uni-directional bezel with conventional markings (ALL LUME!) ... but the blue one has a bi-directional count down bezel. I love this watch. I had been waiting for over a year for a blue FXD and was lucky to get the call for this black one the day it came out. My contact at the boutique made the call as sort of a consolation prize, but I'm so happy with this watch ... I'm glad it turned out the way it did.
I got offered either the blue or the black FXD at the same time, after trying them on I ended up choosing the black one, love it!
Awesome Tom! You’re definitely coming into your own. Great to have you back as YOU.
I actually own a Victorinox INOX, amazing watch and even better with the cable strap. I asked my mum to buy it for me for her final Christmas present in 2017 and she passed in 2018, I wanted it because I thought it would be indestructible and it’s battery went within 2 years. Great watch though thanks for reviewing it
I’m not sure if I misunderstand, but you can replace the battery for less than a dollar
@@kart182 lol, you can, although they said I’d have to send it back to Victorinox to get it done so I haven’t bothered. I just bought an Omega Seamaster 300m instead and now I’ve started wearing proper watches. The INOX is what started this journey.
I know I can get a replacement battery but now I just leave the watch as a keepsake for my mum.
Great video. Love Sinn ❤
1. Gshock.
2 Gshock.
3. You can try to say something else, but the answer is still Gshock
Boring and overplayed
At last, some credos to Damasko.
I sincerely hope that WF lets Tom be Tom. We've heard how hilarious he can be with Andrew. I am fairly sure that there is no reason why he can't fill Andrew's shoes pretty well, and I can tell he's headed in that direction already. Even Andrew wasn't Andrew in the beginning so I'm sure we're going to see great things from Tom.
Great video!
Nice work, Tom!
Nice selection. But, as a retired military bubba, I can say I was always good with a $25-$30 digital watch....Casio or Timex, though my last one was a $20 Aquatech. Lasted nearly 10 years.
No citizen Promaster Tough? They even put it in the name.
I would add the *Circula Protrail*
Hardend scratch resistant steel, almost like ceramic.
Antimagnetic.
150m WR.
Awesome Lume on indizes, hands and dial.
Shock resistant.
Nice watches goodjob.💯👍
Some excellent watches here but the further up the price chain you go past G-Shock the more likely you are to find one of them in the EDC of an "all the gear no idea" type.
Good to hear you back, Tom!
Did I just hear a joke referencing Naughty by Nature? I (and maybe 2 other viewers) appreciate it. OPP - Old People's Puns 😂
I own 4 Damasko and 2 Sinn watches and all of them are for a lack of a better word, bulletproof and dead reliable. Especially the Damasko! As far as I know Panerai and the Egyptian navy don’t have anything going on between them. But what I know?😊..
Blue FXD is bidirectional. Nice vid!
Compass bumper is my new favorite word.
Damasko deliver a fantastic product that is backed by an amazingly talented, and dedicated family business. Kudos
Well done Tom!
I've had my Damasko DS30 for 5 years now. Have so far completely failed to make even the tiniest scratch on it.
My wife has worn a DS30 for two years. Same thing. No scratches. It’s a miracle. She is very hard on her watches. 😅
I have heard that they are incredibly accurate as well, is that true?
@@logiclane6935 It's an ETA 2824-2. It's a good and reliable workhorse used by many brands, but I don't know if it's "incredibly accurate". Mine happens to keep +1-2 s/d, which is very good, but it's not norm for the movement. The DK30 has an in-house variant, that might be even better, I don't know. (But a lot more expensive of course.)
@@logiclane6935 Mine is +4 sec/day. Read that most people have had good accuracy from Damasko
This is brilliant 🤩👍
love my sinn so much
Great list! I would add the IWC pilot chronograph reference 3717 to it if I were asked for my opinion.
Tom the Tudor Palagos FXD MN isn’t unidirectional (10:38) 😉, or am I wrong? Thanks for the new video and great content.
You are right. The FXD is bidirectional
I didn't know Breitling made a Timex watch
G shock mud master gen 1… thanks for playing GAME OVER
RZE, Helm, Archimede, Muehle-Glashutte, Scurfa, Vertex, just to name a few more.
Informative and entertaining as usual, thanks Tom.
Bravo Tom
That was a fantastic video.
Had me laughing through the whole thing.
Personally I want a tough watch that is worn by Chuck Norris so I can punch a shark.
Tough watches. F***yeah!
I’m surprised the seiko emperor tuna didn’t make the list? Or even the Rolex deep sea sea dweller
4:20....highly resistant to traction? what is traction and why should I be concerned about it being resistant to it?
Believe the Sinn watch is satinized.... not sanitized... Though I guess it might be that as well...
1:20 What is sanitized stainless steel?
Great video, loved the humour! Good work
Just got the Damasko DS30 home recently but without the bracelet. I don't like that it has male end links on the bracelet :( Otherwise I would've bought the bracelet as well, it was almost perfect. If they ever release the bracelet but with female end links it might be the perfect GADA that has a mechanical movement.
I own a Luminox. I bought it from TKMaxx for around £400 less than RRP. I still feel dirty. I'll leave it there.
6:39 for the Egyptian navy? Sure?
Well spotted. I have the same question.
From the site italin watch spotter:
Among the different models made in this period we also find the reference GPF 2/56, known by all as the “Egyptian”. It is a large diving watch intended for the Egyptian Navy with the consent of the Italian Navy.
This model, in addition to its rich history, has also become famous for another reason. It is the first watch produced by Panerai to ever feature the crown protection device, now a signature of the brand.
Damasko made ice hardened cases for Sinn 756 back before Sinn did tegamented. Little tidbit
Which hardening is superior?
@kart182 I prefer the tegamented. The Ice hardened is prone to corrosion and magnetism from what I have read. Others can chime in. But tegamented is a beast
Tom, you are doing a good job 👍
Great video.
My Breitling started rusting because i supposedly pushed the buttons while in the shower. ....
G shock. Present from my ex ... my then girlfriend hit it with a hammer and drove over it. .... i didn't notice
I did the same to my ex. Cheaters man.
Still take the Breitling!
Nice one Tom, a great list of which I don't have any.... because I have the predecessors of the Protrek and Mudmaster OG. These two are so good after years of ownership I don't feel any need to change. Anyway my watches are no longer produced so the new ones with some new features should do you just fine for anyone who is as unfit as I am.
When I was 10 I had one
Surprised not to see a Garmin in there
You’re on fire Tom, love it.
An excellent video.
I feel like an outdoor watch really has to be quartz/solar
HOORAY ITS TOM! 🎉
Ehy man, forgot the Citizen Promaster Altichron Eco-Drive BN4021-02E!!!
Mühle Glashutte S.A.R. , please!
Rolex. Hard as nails.
The King is dead. Long live the King.
Dear S,can you helped
Thanks
I have a old OMEGA pocket watch,I want to sell we
I must have all the Pokémon!!!
Wild wild west LOL
Sadly base model Panerai only 100m WR. While that’s probably more than enough for outdoor adventures, it used to be 300m. Lose 200m capability and charge more! 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
There's some proper heavy duty stuff here. Hurrah for Tom.
The most durable watch is a G-Shock. Please be aware that brightly colored Timex Iron Man watches are not as reliable as G-Shocks.
Yay Tom!
The painful, hard truth that watch nerds need to come to grips with... (1) quartz G-Shock or Suunto is going to be much more bombproof than high dollar mechanical watches no matter how much we don't want to admit it, and (2) 99.99% of us don't live lives anywhere close to exciting enough to need a watch that will "survive anything". As long as it's waterproof enough to survive when we rinse Cheetos dust off the crystal, it's tough enough.
Even when I was younger and participated in activities that abused my watches, I never killed any of them no matter how hard I tried. As long as it's from a quality brand, even "fragile" watches can handle more than you think.
I’ve found most watch nerds are very aware of those points
Here I am wearing my Citizen Promaster Tough Super Titanium BN0241-59H monocoque case & it's not even mentioned in this video...smdh
doctor doctor, I cant say T, F or Th....... well you cant say tougher than that then, can you!!
This should be: "Who's #2 thru #10?" Because there's no question who #1 is. It's called common sense fact in legal settings.
Homie got a cold or something?
THESE are the Watchfinder & Co. videos that'll bring me back! 😁
Finding your groove Tom
👏👏👏
Victorinox's hardcore watch didn't survive my divorce. They appear not have tested them with hammers. The Swiss are so binary.
Of course, the G-Shock. They make every woman moist and gasp, Colin! Are you a Mujahideen or are you just please to see me?
Just FYI. Ice hardened steel and submarine steel are not the same thing. The Damasko DK30 shown in the video uses the submarine steel, NOT the ice hardening steel. There's no such thing from Damasko as "ice hardening submarine steel" as you said in the video. Ice hardened steel are harder than submarine steel iirc and they look different. I have the DS30 (same as the DK30 except for another movement inside) and it looks similar to titanium while ice hardening Damaskos are in a lighter color.
Toughest watches are not mechanical!
Tom, you're coming into your own on these in Andrew's absence. Keep up the great work. Panerai..Egyptian Navy watch? Did I hear that right? Hadn't heard that before.
Where did Andrew go?
based on my research he got it wrong here...both Egyptian Panerai models do not resemble the watch featured. The one in the video harkens back to Italian Navy models
@@Daniellahehehe He is running his own channel now. www.youtube.com/@AndrewMorganWatches
@@hyfy-tr2jyThanks. That just didn't seem correct for the example shown. Not that up on Panerai watches, I'd just never seen that model associated with the Egyptian services.
Maybe we could stop patronising Tom by constantly telling him how well he's doing.
Damasko shrieks 'I pay a ladyboy for services but my wife doesn't know yet.' Fake masculine watch for fake men.
"HUCKLE-berry"
6:34 I do believe the host is in error here...This Panerai was designed for the Italian Navy not the Egyptian. The Egyptian model (GPF 2/56) was round with a Rolex movement. If instead he is referring to the Ref 6154 "Little Egyptian" well this isn't that watch either (not to mention the Ref 6154 was made by Rolex for Panerai to their specifications).
Well done Tom and you didn’t even mention Rolex!
Have to include Apple Watch Ultra in this list
People are afraid to admit that smartwatches have their place. When I am out hiking, as much as it kills me, my Ultra 2 is on my wrist. There is no reason for me to handicap myself with a high dollar mechanical masterpiece when I have a "better" tool for the job.
What a strange list...
Thank RUclips. I shut off the video because I didn’t want to watch the stupid, incessant adds!
