  • In this video I look at printing GIANT Lego on a smaller bed such as my new printer the Lulzbot Mini 2. Printing Giant Lego at this smaller scale saves an enormous amount of time and filament making these giant Lego projects much more achievable and a lot cheaper!
    These files were available on my thingiverse account until 2019 when Lego took them down. Sorry, no loner available!: www.threeding.com/user/mantis...

    On the next big Lego build you should do a time-lapse on making the parts, ;D

      Thanks. Well I do struggle to keep content coming with work loads, but also like to drop a more tech based video once in a while like this one. They never do as well but I enjoy doing them. :)

      Yo me too! Memories came flooding back. Its had flexy tubes in the kit and was my first ever technic lego and I loved it. Came in a tiny box, very few parts but I tell you it started the beginning of 100's maybe even 1000's of hours playing with technic lego.

    This channel has been the only one that makes me desire buying/building a 3D printer... And I have watched allot of printer videos. All the other channels are fine, and somewhat entertaining to watch and learn from, but....... All the projects they do, seem to me, kinda pointless, (not all, but 99%). But this channel, makes complete sense to me, and now, (since your first big LEGO set) there is a reason now!!!

    Think I'm going to give the GoCart a go at 2.5 scale. Maybe I missed it but what filament did you use for the blue?

    • @MattDenton
      @MattDenton  5 лет назад

      Well this is polylite PLA. It’s not as good a match as the abs I did before but think it will be ok. Check out the 2.5x scale tyre is just printed.. video on IG 👍

    Just subscribed a few weeks ago when I saw your tractor somewhere. Never would have thought that this would be possible with a relatively small 3D printer.
    What amazes me the most is that the parts snap together so well. Was it a lot of work to get the fit just right?

    • @MattDenton
      @MattDenton  5 лет назад +1

      Oh thanks! Well not wishing to confuse but the tractor was printed on the mini’s bigger brother the taz6. But yes it did take a bit of fiddling to get the fit right!

    • @sjoemie_himself
      @sjoemie_himself 5 лет назад +1

      @@MattDenton thanks. No confusion there. All clear you made the tractor on your bigger printer.
      Nonetheless a heck of an effort.
      By the way.. Did you know LEGO has a really awesome bucketwheel excavator in their line up? Now THAT would be a project! 😁
      Just kidding ofcourse!
      Curious to see what you'll come up with next. Since you've already succesfully printed the large wheels maybe give set number 8859 a go? Pretty awesome to see that come to life.
      Are you selling these kits or even parts of it? Would be neat to have such a giant brick sitting on my desk (the kid in me has woken up).

    • @MattDenton
      @MattDenton  5 лет назад

      Hi. Ok that’s good to know!
      Yeah the tractor was no easy feat even on the larger printers!
      I have considered selling single bricks or interesting parts. May explore this later this year. Not sure how Lego would feel about it 🤔
      My nephew is currently building the bucket excavator.. it’s huge!!

    • @sjoemie_himself
      @sjoemie_himself 5 лет назад +1

      @@MattDenton good point with selling the bricks..
      However I seem to remember that a building brick in it's own isn't something that is protected by copyright anymore.
      Still.. Might be a bit dubious to sell a large copy of an official LEGO set.
