How to recharge the air conditioning on a Chevy Traverse with the 3.6 V6. This should be the same for the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook as they are built on the same GM Platform. This for the model years of 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 (07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17).

Thank you for not doing a half hour video on something that only take a couple minutes. Didn't waste your time or mine. 👍🏼
Exactly 👍🏼
Exactly what I was looking for, thanks much!
No problem. 👍🏼
I've charged hundreds of AC systems in my career, but this Traverse had me buffaloed, specifically that low pressure port that points down away from View
Thanks for being there
No problem 👍🏼
Thanks for the tip. It actually made my friends so happy! I did exactly as u said. It even earned me an ice cream for the good deed! 😁👍👍🇺🇸
No problem. You got it. 👍🏼
Excellent video. short and sweet. got all the major details. It would help to see how the hose connects to the port.
Thanks. Yeah it would. Next video I’ll do that.

I'm soo glad i found this vide🎉. Thanks a lot. I have a question. My fans stopped working around last week when i was driving and now all I feel is hot instead of cold. So do you think is in need of it? It was working fine. No codes at all but I just bought the coolant sensor yesterday and still have to buy the harness cause i see the wires are old and exposed do to the hot and for being so close to the motor. Thanks in advance.
This video was very helpful and I smashed the thumbs up button so frickin hard
Thanks! 🙏🏼

Super easy but what if it takes two cans to fill? How do you switch it out? Turn car off, leave running??
If it takes two cans: Leave the car running. Just unscrew the can and screw a new one on. The hose will not loose refrigerant unless you squeeze the trigger.
very nice - thanks !!!!
No problem!
Thanks for info

Will this work for my car if it’s just blowing stagnant air? After a minute the air will turn warm….
Good info
Thank you.
thank you!
No problem!
Good vid
Thanks.
Dumb question maybe so forgive me in advance, but will the compressor not come on at all if the levels are so low? I’m wondering if this is all I need to do to restore my AC. I have a 2016 and the AC button flashes and turns off. The vent air is so hot my kids and I can’t ride in the car without windows down.
That is correct. If the level is too low the compressor will not come on.
Thank you
No problem 👍🏼

How about the oil?
Does it have to be the small can, or can i grab a bigger bottle of it, if i know its out out?
Either size works. 👍🏼
@@DirtRoadAutoRepair thanks!
@@andrewvogrin1074 No problem. I have Amazon affiliate links in the description if you’re interested in buying them on Amazon. 👍🏼
Would have been helpful to have been able to see the low pressure port. Also, how often do you squeeze the trigger? It seems like you skipped some vital information.
Yeah the port is poorly placed imo. Hold the trigger to fill. Let go to check the gauge. Fill until the needle stays steady at 45 psi.
I did mine yesterday on a different GM vehicle.
The compressor would kick in and the needle would increase to the red. Then the compressor would shut off and stabilize at low again.
I'd press the trigger only when it was at a low point, always shaking the can left and right.
I let the can rest for about 30 seconds between trigger presses. This way, it let the contents and can itself get somewhat warmer than what it would get to.
Now I have cold AC again!!
Thanks, easy.
No problem.
Helpful
Glad to hear it.
My a/c light in the car is blinking on and off what’s dose that mean
Just perfect😅

Sweet

GM could have put the low side near the high side for easier filling. Poor engineering.
Agreed
. R-134a for 2014? Google has different answers, thanks!
Google is always 100% accurate. 😉 yes it takes R-134a and pag 46 oil if you need to add oil for some reason.
BUT IF YOU don’t believe me R-1234rf systems have different fittings to prevent cross contamination.
Ummm it's literally listed under the hood. Google isn't needed 😂
I have a 2016 what refrigerant do I use?
Should take r134a.
How many cans does it take
Ya

Algorithm
Thanks! 👍🏼
This doesn’t work on the early traverse, the low side sits down low next to the oil filter. You need a 90 degree adapter to even hook up to it.
I’ve done it on other earlier models. 🤷🏼♂️
Thanks
