I’m not sure this quick, one-time test offers enough data to create trustworthy results, but it was definitely interesting to see that the two machines seem to preform equally. The Dododum unfortunately seems to come in every color, except purple. So I’m still searching, lol.
I have a Dododum mini and it has worked great! I have made multiple t-shirts, and some hand towels. Some of my t-shirts designs were pretty large at 11" long by 10" wide. Dododum mini works perfectly for me, it does take a little longer when doing large designs compared to a larger press but I don't make enough htv items to back me up in spending more on a larger press. All in all very happy with my Dododum Mini!
Does it work with dtf transfers? I’d like to try some t-shirt designs for myself and for gifts only so I’m kinda weighing options on whether to get bigger heat press
Thanks, Beca. I really love your hair color. It makes you look very young. Even though it's more money, I think I like the Cricut better because of the base. My little grandson is always with me in my craft room bumping into my table, so the doddum would probably fall out of it's cradle and that would cause a serious burn.
I’ve had the green one for close to a year. Love it, never had an issue. So happy this review confirmed my purchasing decision. I like green much better than red too!! And isn’t the name fun too
Perfect timing! I have wanting to buy one of these but just couldn't spend $60, so after watching your video, I just ordered me a green one of the off brand. It will be here tomorrow!
I bought a really cute little cow mini press and it worked beautifully! Not only was it cost-effective, but it was also a COW! lol I think it was $35.00 on Amazon.
Heyyy thanks for this video because as I’m shopping I’m like what’s really the difference let me go check RUclips 🤣 snd I found you !! So can you tell me what exactly all do I need to just make let’s say hand towels? Would i just need the press and heat transfer vinyl? Thanks so much
I was JUST considering that offbrand mini! I had a $50 gift card for amazon. I ended up just paying the extra $10 for the Cricut one because I have a raspberry colored 9x9 and I wanted them to match 😂. It looks so cute next to my Lynn Lilly glue gun ❤️
I have the green one. Tried it on a windbreaker i think it was coated nylon and the transfer looks see through or stained by the red from the jacket. It came out pink instead of white, any tips? Maybe i used too much heat?
Oh goodness, I thought you had to use parchment paper over the top of the vinyl when using the mini press!!! Is that why mine took forever to transfer!!??
Infusible ink needs to only be used on materials with very high polyester count. Check out stretch vinyl and sports flex vinyl for super stretchy materials.
The only Dododum that is $39.99 is the green one. The others are either the same price as Cricut or more (at least from the Cricut sale price). I think it's interesting that they charge so much more for different colors. Supply/demand, I guess.
Shiny metal reflecting the rays compounds the errors. But for her comparison the thermometer served it's purpose. (The irons have similar temperatures at each setting, even if they are not accurate temperatures.) One thing to try might be to heat the fabric, then quickly measure the fabric with the gun.
So a company pays for research, designer, and testing. Eventually gets the product right and pays to market it. A second company copies it. That is wrong, and if we always buy knock offs, companies will stop doing the research, then we will all miss out. For the sake of a few dollars!
Amen Wendy. I bought the cricut brand. This off-brand was such a blatant rip off. Any creator, and especially the ones that create for a living wouldn't like their designs copied and sold for a little less.
All I can feel is ... did cricut make y’all mad ... I’ve never even watched your channel before yesterday and now it’s like f!ck you cricut ... here’s 10 videos to prove we barely need your stuff .... I’m pro all the hacks and do hate how cricut now seems like they just want to make 10.00 more than be helpful or create good products (and I have told them so )
@@jenconn6692 Where a product is made does not bother me (nearly everything is made in China these days, right?) My dismay is the direct COPY of a product imagined, designed and created by someone else, in this case Cricut, an American company based in Provo, Utah. Dododum is owned by Zhang Xianhua, based in Liuyang City, Hunan, China. In any case, there is a whole lot of copying going on everywhere in every industry. It just bothers me personally. And, I suppose, the makers of original ideas and products are not too thrilled either.

Yay! Glad to hear!😀
That's the same kind I have and I love it
Can I do sublimation with these ?
How do you it on your large design, do you move it around or use it on one spot for a certain time?
Does it work with dtf transfers? I’d like to try some t-shirt designs for myself and for gifts only so I’m kinda weighing options on whether to get bigger heat press
I'm still waiting for my first Cricut to be delivered was looking for the heat press. Thank you for this video! I'm ordering a Dododum!
You're welcome, Cristina!

Glad you loved it!
I got the glitter hot pink dododum one for $24 on prime day. It was $39 on sale...and I had $15 in rewards. Thanks for this video. 😊💕
I really appreciate your reviews of products that perform the same functions as widely known brands.
Thank you! Happy to know you find it helpful.
I have that same one and it wonder
Thank you for your unbiased review!! This definitely made it easier for me to make my choice!💙
I'm so glad!
I am happy with my Dododum but didn’t know whether it worked as good. Thank you for sharing. I like your hair!
Thank you Weesa!😊

So excited for you!🙂
The numbers were off because that style thermometer is light based and reflective surfaces can give you inaccurate readings.
Interesting! Thanks for this video!!
I just bought a diff brand heat press that is about a 7"x4" rectangle for the same price as the tiny cricut one!
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for being so honest
No worries!🙂
Thank you for this info!
You're so welcome!🙂
I wonder if it would be the same result for the bigger heat press'. Cricut vs/ Off Brand
I bought a really cute little cow mini press and it worked beautifully! Not only was it cost-effective, but it was also a COW! lol I think it was $35.00 on Amazon.
Yay!! Glad to know that!
Just for comparison could you plz do a heat setting on a regular iron? I would be very interested in knowing that. tia 💥
I ended up with the dododum cause it was $33 lighting deal on the Christmas one. It’s red and green and has snowman on it.
I have a dodo drum mini and it works amazing and i am in canada and i paid $70 in Canadian funds but still well worth the money I LOVE IT!!!!
I just bought the Circuit mini press in Zen Blue at JoAnn's for $39. Love it!
Yay!!!
Dodo dum mini on sale at Amazon today Black Friday for $29.62. I’m gonna snag it. Thanks for the video.
Very interesting video. Thank you for the information.
Anytime! Thank you for watching!
Awesome, thank you ♥
Our pleasure!😊
Great job. Thanx
I love Red and getting the mini Circuit. Going for the Joy and the mini. I already have the Explorer.
Good comparison thanks
You're welcome!
I have a Dododum haven't used it yet but I'm glad I bought this one
Can't wait for you to use it!
I have a amtok. I love it for vinyl shirts
Can you do a video comparing the bigger easy press?
Wow, looks very comparable! I think it's just as good!
Y'all can read my mind, I just ordered the offbrand one due to your recommendation. Thanks!!!
Yay! So happy for you!
You can buy the name brand cricut one for $39 on Ebay brand new
Heyyy thanks for this video because as I’m shopping I’m like what’s really the difference let me go check RUclips 🤣 snd I found you !! So can you tell me what exactly all do I need to just make let’s say hand towels? Would i just need the press and heat transfer vinyl? Thanks so much

Lynn Lilly glue gun is LOVE!!😊
I never knew there was an off brand Mini. I got the Cricut Mini Bundle in 2019.
I have the off brand and it is fabulous
So glad you liked it!
Excellent coverage
Thanks for watching!
Awesome!!
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for this review. Im thinking to buy the dododum from Amazon now. 🎉
You're welcome!
Thank you
You're welcome!
I got the Circut because I got it for the same price as the Dododum.
I have the green one. Tried it on a windbreaker i think it was coated nylon and the transfer looks see through or stained by the red from the jacket. It came out pink instead of white, any tips? Maybe i used too much heat?
Ive noticed since using the Dodo that my edges raise up after the first time wearing
You need to read the temp as soon as they hit the mark. If you wait it will cool until it hits a lower temp and starts to heat up again
I used the green one a lot
I seen that infusible ink can be heated with the cricut mini press but what about the HYTIREBY press 7 X 3.8 that’s what I bought.
Oh goodness, I thought you had to use parchment paper over the top of the vinyl when using the mini press!!! Is that why mine took forever to transfer!!??
Is Dododum dual-volt?
Can I put iron on vinyl on 80% spandex 20% cotton shirts?????
Or use infusible ink for them?????
Infusible ink needs to only be used on materials with very high polyester count. Check out stretch vinyl and sports flex vinyl for super stretchy materials.

Keep looking back. They randomly change prices. When we ordered the green there were several that were $39.99 so odd!
@@boakes87 thanks!
Does the dodoum work on leather bracelets
Interesting
Do have to purchase one of these to use heated vinyl I'm new in this world.lol
A house iron just not hit enough
Yes the heat press is used with htv however there are videos guiding you on how to use your home Iron.
What brand mat?
Does the dodoum brand offer larger presses like cricut?
Amtok also has bigger! Amazon
@@denisejohnston6243 thank you for the info!
My Walmart sells the mini press for $49
I didn’t get the mini because they didn’t have green lol might get this dododum Tysm
Haha, you're welcome!
The temperature gun is using infrared, if you don’t account for emissivity your measurements will be off. This is why you’re reading much lower.
A Thermo imaging camera is better
IR thermometers are notoriously inaccurate. They tend to read low.

(The irons have similar temperatures at each setting, even if they are not accurate temperatures.) One thing to try might be to heat the fabric, then quickly measure the fabric with the gun.
Dododum? Who names these things? Maybe the Stupidiot cutting mat is next. lol
😂😂😂😂 I’m just noticing that
The price changes with color you choose on dodo brand.
I just bought the green one and it stayed $39.99.

can't cricut sue all these knock offS? isn't that patent violations?

Does it bother anyone besides me that this is a Chinese knock off of an American made product?
Is the mini press American made ? My cricut maker box says made in China so I assumed all of the cricut stuff is.
