I actually like to think he's just smiling fondly back at the place where he earned it all. Also, headcanon time: When Michael saw the documentary and he saw Pam stayed to watch his plane take off, he cried. Convince me otherwise. Just try.
Mason Musgrove remember when micheal was on that kids show and said he wanted to have 100 children so he could have 100 friends or some shit like that?

Really cause it looked like part of the show. You know people have lives outside of the show right? Could easily say goodbye after they say “Cut.” Can also keep being friends. Not like Steve Carnell actually moved across the country, he stayed in CA to film movies 🤦🏻♂️
@@Lawrence_Talbot of course, but when you move away from close family or friends, you still feel sad because you won’t see them as much. I meant nothing negative from that. I just thought it was sweet.
I’m sure this has already been said, but after my 4th rerun of this show I finally realized the meaning of his way of saying goodbye, it completed his character arc. Throughout the show he had always wanted to be the center of attention, always wanted everything to be about him (Eg Kevin’s cancer scare on Michael’s birthday), but this time when it was actually about him, he chose to avoid the spotlight, instead wanting to share a special moment with each of his co workers on his last day that only he knew about (everyone else Jim and Pam aside thought he’d leave the following day), and didn’t care about the good bye party. One of the best characters of any show on TV.
Oh wow. I didn't understand why he decided to blindside his co-workers. I thought it must be one of those inexplicable decisions that Michael makes. This makes it so much better.
Cause all he want ever along was just to bring people together, to love and to be loved by the co-workers, whom are like his family, his friends. Yes he's done a lot of awful things but that's because of his own wound, he never gave up out of all of them. I will always had a soft spot for Michael, the true hero out of them all.
in the like 3 scenes they had together ..im sorry but pam and Michael barely had a connection...they had the art day thing but most of that is ryans fault for pissing Michael off that day and making him question his company at the business school seminar...and the time Michael quit but then she tries to get her job back right away and is denied so she has no choice but to go back to the scott paper company so it doesn't really feel as heartfelt.... but most of season 6 and 7 she barely talks to him....she owes him her job, he got her to the hospital for her first pregnancy...she should say goodbye to him....she owed him at least that....she found jim because of Michael...jim only kissed her because Michael urged him to not give up..in a way pam owes her entire life to Michael...yet she constantly makes fun of him....I never liked pam and michaels relationship....it felt one sided....did Michael make her life harder?..yes but unlike Dwight Michael truly always said he loved her....Dwight said I hate pam and she should be fired...so he kind of deserves to get hated and pranked by pam...Michael didn't deserve all the negative behind his back talk she gave the camera crew...he was a innocent child..Dwight did it on purpose..theres a difference....yet she seemed to still like Dwight a lot more....to be fair he isn't an idiot...but still
razkable there were lots of moments where Pam was the only one who would stick up for Michael. In the episode "body language" in season 6, Pam was the only one telling him he wasn't crazy for thinking the bar tender was into him. Plus her and Michael had a relationship that would shift from father/daughter to mother/son. I always thought she joked around and laughed at him but she was always protective of him. I felt like that was the office in general. One of the central messages was they were allowed to point and laugh at each other because they were a family but it wasn't cool for an outsider to laugh at them.
Okay, did you even watch the show? Pam was easily Michael's best friend in the Office. Despite his more humiliating antics, Pam stuck by Michael for the most part.
Max Frankow Specifically when he went on to start his own paper company. She was the first and only one to leave Dunder Mifflin to help out Michael before they picked up Ryan.
They say you should find someone who likes you for who you are. And some think you should find someone who'll challenge your worldview and want to change. Michael found both in Holly.
unfortunately he wanted to stay but nbc out of nowhere didn't without any good reason. if he did stay we COULD HAVE literally seen him in his family life with holly..
it was the best think for Michael, and the ending was perfect...that being said...i still hoped till the last minute he would "be back... and i am back"
Man, that actually made me tear up because this is what Michael wanted... to have a family of his own with a girl who actually loves him for who he is...
It's because during her art show (which was her passion), nobody turned up for it except for Michael Scott who really appreciated her work. Kind of like a father and daughter moment that even Erin and Michael never got to share with each other.
@@habibahmed3191 Pam and Michael were a very underrated part of the show. I think they had way more connections than Dwight and him. Pam looked out for him and knew him best. Michael adored Pam and respected her loyalty and ability to speak the truth to him!
Lol I wonder who’s idea it was for his final line to be an inaudible “that’s what she said”. It’s such a genius idea because it fits his character so well, and even tho you couldn’t hear anything, you knew exactly what he was saying.
@@nebx2127 His character was finish. He found the love that he was searching for all this time. Michael's absence let me appreciate other characters more. Erin, Andy, Dwight, Angela etc. He made room for the other characters to develop.
@@AdityaRSon She told everyone what was actually said. Jenna herself said she was basically out of character at that moment and was telling Steve bye. She was legitimately sad she had to see him leave.
The worst part is Steve left the show cause he felt the audience disliked him. In an interview, Steve jokingly said he might leave the show. He felt the audience didn't bother much, taking it as a cue to leave the show.
I love how Pam and Michael's relationship develops. It starts with her pretending to care about the Dundies when he is sad by the indifference of others, then he shows up at her art show, she goes with him to help him in his own company. After that, Pam seems to legitimately care for Michael in seasons 6 and 7, advises him and cares a lot about him. This final scene, with this detail of Pam without shoes to be able to run and reach him, was the perfect ending for this duo.
You are so spot on as Pam and Michael were such an underrated couple in the seven seasons and love that the writers recognized the immense impact they had on each other and gave them the final scene. Jenna and Steve were so great together as actors.
There is also a paternal relationship that develops between two individuals that were deprived of this type of emotional dynamic. I think it is at least inferred that Pam did not have a strong attachment to her father and Michael was well described as a character that wished for children.
There's a chapter in season 2 where pam tells the camara that when she's gonna transfer a call to Michael she waits s little longer on de line, so he can deliver his greetings better.
Truly couldn't have been a better goodbye. Michael's story arch in The Office is trying to find true love. When he finally does find it, his arch is complete as well as his character. Truly one of the best send offs for any TV show character.
I love how michaels final line was that's what she said...but you couldn't hear him say it...lol....I am gonna be so glad to get this thing off my chest...lol
I love how he calls Colorado 'home' even though he's never lived there or even been there (as far as I know). Home is where the heart is, and his heart was with Holly. It took him a long time.... and then it's perfect. KIlls me every time man.
"When Pam talks to Michael at the airport that was me talking to steve. I told Steve all the ways I was going to miss him when he left our show. Those were real tears, and a real goodbye. That was a really emotional scene". Jenna Fischer
There was an interview with John Krasinski on here where he talks about Steve Carrell’s last day. He said everyone was really emotional, but John told them to just chill and not make it worse than it already was. Then, as he and Carrell were just about do their last scene together, it hit him all at once as soon as they said “Action,” and he just lost it. Also, just realized Michael’s last words to the camera crew were “That’s what she said!”
Agreed. I always thought that Michael's closeness to Pam showed what a great boss he was. She was just the lowly receptionist, so it was well within his authority to treat her like shit. But he never treated her with anything short of dignity (intentionally).
jim and Dwight pam and Dwight and Michael and Dwight pam and jim...these were the relationships that made the office endings to season 7 and 9 so beautiful....the rest of the characters were always side characters and it really showed in season 8 and 9 when scott left...these 4 actors carried this series...
LoKi Because of that scene I cried while watching this one. I have never cried watching a tv show because I was never emotionally struck by any moment. I usually just tear up a bit. Like the last scene in the series finale. About Jim expressing his love for Pam, I teared up there but this scene, I fully cried. Because before Michael came to the exhibit to see Pam's art no one was interested in it. Oscar came with his boyfriend and they spoke bad about it while Pam eavesdropped. Which made her feel hopeless about her art. But then Michael came at the end and said he was proud of her and offered to buy it. She hugged him and saw how deeply he cared not only about her, but about all the workers. Again, not one for emotions while watching tv shows but that was absolutely heart breaking.
When Pam was leaving for art school in NY Michael ran after to say goodbye, which wasn’t as heartfelt. Now, Pam repaid him by chasing after him to say goodbye in such a heartfelt manner. This just comes to show the evolution and Michael and Pam’s friendship
That’s also because in an interview she stated that she wasn’t saying goodbye to him at the character, but as Steve. Which is why it seemed so genuine, because it was.
it’s crazy to think about how many people who watched the office said michael was annoying but then those same people cried at him leaving. really shows how much of a impact he made on the show. *cough* me *cough*
you know, the people that make noise in your life, and when you grow on that noise and those people that are responsible for making the noise go away.. you'll start to miss them and appreciate them more.
This episode was really emotional and showed how much Michael cared about his co-workers or his family. Cried a lot during this episode and the 9,986,000 minutes song.
True..hate how they introduced annoying characters like Deangelo, Robert California, Nellie etc. to replace him. They all sucked in comparison. Michael was the center of the show, without him the show was lackluster.
@@BilltheFifth there's a reason why series have a protagonist, we love this character who is the center of our attention all the time and the character he have developed an affection to, just look how vikings is also not that interesting without Ragnar
that's the office in a nutshell, that's the office really is, not just a sitcom, it's an emotional show, you can cry, you can laugh, you can feel awkwardness, you can feel the romantic moment, you can feel everything, now that's a masterpiece show, no sad music, and any stupid laugh track, we need a new the office for the future
I feel like it makes it more real to life, a lot of us have had teary goodbyes at bus stations, airports, trainstations, etc., this seemed like a real scenario not just TV, put us all right in there
Rewatching it right now, and I paused to watch it on here, because I'm crying too much to continue right now. It's that final scene. When you see Jim looking a bit emotional, then seeing Pam run up and catching up just in time to say goodbye. 7 seasons this character gets absorbed into you, then just this.
It’s crazy to think that throughout the show Pam couldn’t really stand Michael as receptionist and he was the one that gave her a chance as salesman and believed in her, and at the end of the day it was her that chased him down at the airport to say her final goodbyes and thanked him for being a great boss to her
You have to remember, at the beginning of the show, the office staff only tolerated michael, because he was a deluded and insensitive jerk. Jim was probably the first to come around when Michael crashed jim's house warming party. Jim had pitty on him when he knew michael literally had no one else in his life. He got up there and sang islands in the stream with michael. Slowly all the characters came around to michael, even Stanley and angela. Pam and michael's relationship has to be the most complex. It started as michael - creepy boss - and ended with pam and Michael on older brother / younger sis level. The comedy of the show sometimes overshadows Michael's meaningful nature, in spite of his other character flaws. He would do or give anything to anyone who worked there. He really did see them as a family, for better or for worse. When you look at great sitcoms over the last few decades, all of the characters are fairly one dimensional. Friends, frasier, cheers, and even sein feld. But Michael Scott has to be one of the most complex characters to hit the small screen. So much going on in that character.
"He was just excited to get home and see holly" That hits so hard. I don't even know why. It's a feeling that I've felt before but I don't know what it is. It's pretty impressive of this show to make me feel it again when I don't even know what causes it.
I think it's because he was going to a place where he would be happy. After all the drama and judgement he gone through at the end, he could finally rest where he belongs with his love. Or he is just an amazing guy you grown to is leaving to live on with the skills he learn of maturity and empathy. I think the closest thing that you are feeling is. Bitter sweetness and letting go a bird to fly.
Because Michael lived and breathed Dunder Mifflin through 7 seasons, so him just being excited to see Holly means he's moved on. It's a powerful end to his character arc. It also happens to sound like something a dying person would say in their final moments, which gives it an added sense of finality.
I think after everything Pam rushing there to say good bye is what is so touching to me. He was special person just lived and thought different from most. But was never ever a bad person.
I think the writers rehabilitated Michael Scott’s image in Steve’s final season so it would make sense that the other characters would be sad to see him go. But was he a good person? He hit Meredith with his car, he got mad when Kevin’s cancer scare stole his thunder on his birthday, he constantly sexually harrassed Pam and Ryan, he threw Dwight under the bus multiple times. I wouldn’t say he was necessarily a good person.
Ratula Morie I think he was complex. There were also the plentiful of times he tried to do the right thing. Remember the small paper company? At the end of the day, he didn’t want to go through with putting those people out.
There is so much about this scene I absolutely adored: - How we never truly know what they said to each other - Micheal kissing Pam on the head - Pam being the last person to see him off - Knowing how frenzied she must have been to catch up to him - How happy Micheal was to have seen her before he got on the plane Their bond is one of my favs from the series
Michael and Pam always got along but I felt their friendship really elevated when she left to work with him in his own paper company. No one, even her, thought he would succeed but she went along with him. And in the end he did so well, even though they were about to go bankrupt he stole enough clients for DM to bend backwards to get them back.
@@mikevisby8744 True, and never forget when Michael told Pam how proud he was of her at the art gallery. The most beautifully developed thing in the whole show was Pam-Michael's friendship
Forget Friends! This is the single most heart warming show of all times. I cried like a baby when Michael left the show. And then when the whole Office came to an end. More seasons please!
Yes lets give Friends a rest as the Office has a heart and characters that are real and flawed and human and are actually people we can relate to. I watched Friends in real time and enjoyed it and now Im watching the Office some 15 years after its run. I cant imagine one moment on Friends that was profoundly touching . The Office is a does real life so much better. Ill take the core four of the Office any day of the week!!

what makes this bond stronger is that pam paid for a plane ticket so she could be allowed to go in there and say goodbye to michael. makes me so happy. i love and miss this show so much 😞
I actually stopped watching as soon as Michael left. I refuse to watch the episodes without him (because The Office isn’t The Office without Michael). Tbf you do know but you just don't say anything as you don't wanna jynx it. Like at my work now the team is great and I enjoy working with them. I just know any new person is only gonna make it worse :D
CRU z idk I like the later episodes. They’re pretty decent. Do I miss Michael? Yes but we still have the other characters. It’s not like boondocks season 4 where it’s a horrible piece of shit
CRU z I thought the 7th Season as a whole was just not very good. Seasons 8 and 9 found some of the original texture of the series, but only sporadically, and it still was not the same without Steve Carell. That said, it closed on a high note.
The first time I watched this episode I didn’t know that Steve Carell was actually leaving the show...it wasn’t until the middle of season 8 where I was like wait, why hasn’t Michael come back yet? and then I looked it up and cried. Edit: Wow thank you for so many likes!
If you look at the little things towards the end of the episode, how happy he is, how he couldn’t stop smiling. That’s all he ever wanted throughout the show, to be with someone that makes him happy.. he clearly never felt that way with Jan and even the way he quickly changed his mind on him wanting to leave as soon as he heard Hollys voice on the phone.. I just wished the office kept in touch with Michael
Wow...and I thought the end of Friends was sad...I also cried when he told Erin that she could call him anytime she needed. He knew she needed someone to get guidance from. 😭😭😭😭😭😭

I really wanted to know how Michael's life was after he left with Holly. I was kinda hoping he would say more about it in the finale, but he only had like two lines.
0:21, Michael finally comes to the realization that the people he works with and lead may not be the family he wanted, but now that he has Holly she makes up for each one of them and more. However, even though they may not have been the family, Michael wanted. He did in the end make the office feel like family. And without Michael Scott, they would not be as close with each other as they are. He did accomplish that goal, maybe just not in the way he expected. The part I like about this is it’s almost kind of like Michael is saying my work here is done. And now my real family is calling me, and I’m going to answer that call. There will never be another show like The Office ever again.
I was only a little bit sad when this happened because when I watched this I thought he would come back a few episodes later, but then when I realized he was not coming back I was really sad

All this man wanted was to make others happy regardless of his methods. When he got into a mindset that was actual seriousness, he was unstoppable. His whole idea of unprofessionalism makes memories is paramount. He deserved happiness the most of everyone and nobody really took him seriously, but he kept it up for his friends as if he was truly among those closest to him. Michael's whole character revolves around chaotic good: wanting the best for everyone even if it costs him everything. The dedication he had for a crumbling paper distribution company was the perfect example of his love. The moment we saw Michael and Holly in the same room for the first time we finally knew he was complete. He fought through constant torment of losing his friends from downsizing, promotion for Jan's job, the company going bankrupt, Sabre threatening to ruin the branch, the life threatening events of his friends lives, broken promises from his past, his inner ego getting the best of him, and even horrible lovers and even then he came out truly happy. I hope Michael is living his perfect life with Holly, he deserves it. World's Best Boss.
Pam being the only one to show up at the airport to see him off is a small nod to Michael being the only person to attend her art show. Love the little details this show made. 💕
Zulema Oregel Pam and Jim were the only ones who knew that Michael was leaving that day. Michael told the office he was his last day was the following day and that’s what everyone believed. Pam being the only one to see him off is not a nod to Michael coming to her art show...
She was also the only one who voluntarily quit to go and work for his company after he begged the whole office and they all declined except her when she saw he was really leaving
Golden x Diva 🤦🏻♀️ You clearly missed the point. Im not talking about the events specifically that transpired more so about the meaning behind the scenes Its a simple nod to the beginning friendship because Pam never really respected Michael until that moment when he came to visit her and purchased her art because he, unlike everyone else, appreciated her enough to attend without being cynical or having ulterior motives. He was genuine and it signified a beginning to their friendship and in this airport scene Pam actually went out of her way to say goodbye. Closing the loop and ending/beginning a new phase for their friendship. That’s what I meant dumb dumb. 🙄
I love how even though Michael was consistently inappropriate towards Pam throughout the whole series, they both share the most heart-tugging moments together. Their friendship really developed into a warm father/daughter style relationship. It was so fitting and tear-jerking for her to be the only person from the office to see him off.
God, what an amazing character. For the first few season we see Michael as this static thorn in everybody's sides, ruining every situation with his awkwardness/childish attitude. But as time goes on, we see him really struggle with loneliness. He starts to rely on his coworkers more, and soon we see that theres actually a really close relationship he develops with characters like Jim, Dwight and Pam. Like that time where Jim had to take care of the office while Michael's gone, and wonders how Michael does his job so well. Even though he's an idiot, he still genuinely cares about them. And in his later seasons, we even see him start to mature, to be genuine and good and sacrifice for his employees, who he legit cares for as friends. Honestly, just an iconic character who's so much deeper than you first realize.

Wow.... im still picking pieces of my brain outa my carpet. mind blown.
Dude that's amazing! This is one of the best series ever made
I just thought he couldn’t handle all the feelings everyone would have on his last day.
The evolution of Michael and Pam's relationship is an absolute masterpiece, their relationship is beautiful.
in the like 3 scenes they had together ..im sorry but pam and Michael barely had a connection...they had the art day thing but most of that is ryans fault for pissing Michael off that day and making him question his company at the business school seminar...and the time Michael quit but then she tries to get her job back right away and is denied so she has no choice but to go back to the scott paper company so it doesn't really feel as heartfelt.... but most of season 6 and 7 she barely talks to him....she owes him her job, he got her to the hospital for her first pregnancy...she should say goodbye to him....she owed him at least that....she found jim because of Michael...jim only kissed her because Michael urged him to not give up..in a way pam owes her entire life to Michael...yet she constantly makes fun of him....I never liked pam and michaels relationship....it felt one sided....did Michael make her life harder?..yes but unlike Dwight Michael truly always said he loved her....Dwight said I hate pam and she should be fired...so he kind of deserves to get hated and pranked by pam...Michael didn't deserve all the negative behind his back talk she gave the camera crew...he was a innocent child..Dwight did it on purpose..theres a difference....yet she seemed to still like Dwight a lot more....to be fair he isn't an idiot...but still
razkable
3 scenes
.really?? moron
razkable there were lots of moments where Pam was the only one who would stick up for Michael.
On one of the first episodes he says, “I lived in Scranton my whole life and I don’t intend on leaving.”
He left for Holly :’)
He said it to the mayor of Lakawana County
He left the show in real life , he cant continue to act

They say you should find someone who likes you for who you are. And some think you should find someone who'll challenge your worldview and want to change. Michael found both in Holly.
Yeah, if only NBC renewed his contract..
Honestly...Michael is an amazing friend. I think that because he went to Pam’s art show when no one else did
that day she would never forget.

it was the best think for Michael, and the ending was perfect...that being said...i still hoped till the last minute he would "be back... and i am back"
cmon. they needed a story why micheal left, andthat was the weak story
When Pam said he was very excited to go home and see Holly. I felt that.
Michael finally went home.
Man, that actually made me tear up because this is what Michael wanted... to have a family of his own with a girl who actually loves him for who he is...

She told everyone what was actually said. Jenna herself said she was basically out of character at that moment and was telling Steve bye. She was legitimately sad she had to see him leave.
It hits you much harder when you know in this case things weren't fictional, they were for real...
The worst part is Steve left the show cause he felt the audience disliked him.
In an interview, Steve jokingly said he might leave the show. He felt the audience didn't bother much, taking it as a cue to leave the show.
Pam was the most loyal to Michael, even more loyal than Dwight, from Michael Scott Paper Company all the way to Dunder Mifflin...what an MVP! 🙋♂️🙋♂️

“They say on your death bed that you never wish you spent more time at The Office, but I will.” 😔
I dont understand death bed, who would buy them. ( This made me laugh in between such a emotional scene.)
I didn't notice the show detail, makes it even more heartwarming:(
You are so spot on as Pam and Michael were such an underrated couple in the seven seasons and love that the writers recognized the immense impact they had on each other and gave them the final scene.

Madasyn Harrison how you dont cried before at jim and pam wedding, or when he first ask her out??
Pam and Michael's relationship was such a beautiful relationship
OMFG that scene literally defined their relationship! Always makes me cry :'(
Except that fake firing, though seeing her reaction I think made Michael think more highly of her.
How is Jenna Fischer excellent in so many scenes? Every time she has a heartfelt scene, her delivery is IMPECCABLE
In this specific case, she was actually feeling emotional, because this was the last eposide of Steve Carell on the show
When Pam was leaving for art school in NY Michael ran after to say goodbye, which wasn’t as heartfelt. Now, Pam repaid him by chasing after him to say goodbye in such a heartfelt manner. This just comes to show the evolution and Michael and Pam’s friendship
Great point. I never made the connection, but this is solid.
That’s also because in an interview she stated that she wasn’t saying goodbye to him at the character, but as Steve. Which is why it seemed so genuine, because it was.
I cried when he was leaving. I just feel like I know him all this time.
Pam was coming back to Dunder though. Michael was leaving forever.
it’s crazy to think about how many people who watched the office said michael was annoying but then those same people cried at him leaving. really shows how much of a impact he made on the show.
*cough* me *cough*
love him or hate him he inspired everyone. if someone like michael can succeed being himself then so can i.

Right! I didn't get it at first that he was leaving the show, I thought he was only moving away for a while!
I just watch it for the first time, and I´m still sobbing.
It’s crazy to think that throughout the show Pam couldn’t really stand Michael as receptionist and he was the one that gave her a chance as salesman and believed in her, and at the end of the day it was her that chased him down at the airport to say her final goodbyes and thanked him for being a great boss to her
She didn't went for that reasons, she went to ask Michael for her 20k of the sell of the company
To be fair, Pam always seemed like that best friend of Michael who couldn't stand him but also couldn't abandon him
You have to remember, at the beginning of the show, the office staff only tolerated michael, because he was a deluded and insensitive jerk.

This episode was so sad, but he was pretty mean to Toby lol
I cried then
I think the writers rehabilitated Michael Scott’s image in Steve’s final season so it would make sense that the other characters would be sad to see him go.
@@ratulamorie5255 chaotic good

There is so much about this scene I absolutely adored:
- How we never truly know what they said to each other
- Micheal kissing Pam on the head
- Pam being the last person to see him off
- Knowing how frenzied she must have been to catch up to him
- How happy Micheal was to have seen her before he got on the plane

@@rupertmurdoch4750 who the hell says that there are people suffering in hospitals war and others and your worried about yo coochie game?
Honestly, this made me shed a tear. I use to see random episodes of the office on tv and I could never understand why people liked it so much and why they found it funny. I always thought it was just alright at best. But, after watching it in order from the very beginning, I might have to say it’s the best tv show I’ve ever watched. I was never able to appreciate it before or see the humor in it without watching it from the start and really understanding the characters.
Buckeyes202 right there with you. I finally decided to watch it start to finish. I made it about 3 episodes into season 8 before I quit. It’s just not the same :/
same here i would see my mom watch it all the time and i would watch it sometimes and think it was weird and boring but after watching it for myself beginning to end i fell in love with the characters and how they all cared about each other deep down even Jim and Dwight its the best show iv'e ever seen
This is the best show ever. I cried and I’ll miss Michael Scott.
Buckeyes202 welcome to the club, fam!
@@jamesjudge3685 dude just watch till the end, trust me! Will not regret. The last 3 episodes are so perfect and beautiful. Made me cry so much more than when michael left as well.
Pam took her shoes off in order to run before Michael left.... Absolutely beautiful
She had to (hurriedly) take them off at the security checkpoint, but wasn't going to waste time putting them back as Michael walked away.
Yep although they won’t let you through the checkpoint without a boarding pass, so she must have spent some cash just to say goodbye :)
i love womens feet, nom nom nom
You try running in heels and tell me how it goes
You don't know how airports work, absolutely beautiful.
I just watched this episode for the first time tonight and I don’t think I’ve ever cried so much from a show before
I cried watching this
That's what she said
I just finished it. Literally a minute ago. I am crying like a little bitch... Goodbye Michael Scott. Seeing you go was hard.....
That's what she said
I don't know how youtube accounts work, can you change your name at any point or are you from the future?
ME TOO!
I knew he was going to leave, thanks to RUclips spoilers, but I still got choked up. Michael truly is the world's greatest boss.
Chancellor Palpatine not even close
Your right, he is the universes greatest boss.
Yes, i wish he was my boss
Best boss I ever had
No you are the best boss sheev
I finished watching season 7 of The Office (thanks to lockdown) for the first time. I am now feeling the effects of losing an amazing friend! I can't imagine finishing the series without Michael Scott! This is going to be so hard!
That's what she said! 😭😭
I stopped watching after Michael left and skipped to the last episode with his cameo 😅
If you got attached to some of the characters besides Michael you'll want to finish the last two seasons you'll be glad you did. You won't have to watch them again after that.

Specifically Dwight
I just watched it for the first time today and it hit me dead center in the feels. I just lost it when Pam ran in
dude good one lol :c
Anyone else realize that Pam would have had to buy a plane ticket in order to get to that point in the airport? She bought a plane ticket she was never going to use just so she could say goodbye to Michael. That's a true friend.
Now excuse me while I go cry in the corner.
Why would she pay for a plane ticket?

Micheal and Pam’s relationship is pure loyalty I love it
And I’m crying rn even tho I’ve seen this a hundred times
I really wanted to know how Michael's life was after he left with Holly. I was kinda hoping he would say more about it in the finale, but he only had like two lines.
i think he had kids. he talks about them.
He and Holly married (duh) and had four kids, according to NBC.com.
Home
I honestly want some sort of spinoff about that.
uwu scarlet that would be so lit. Michael And Holly’s kids and their daily life or sumshit oh man
I don't think I'll ever get over this

christopherxiong honestly mee too
Me neither man.. 2019
"The people that you work with are just, when you get down to it, your very best friends." Soooo thankful for my coworkers💖💖💖💖💖💖
allie thats what she said
I was only a little bit sad when this happened because when I watched this I thought he would come back a few episodes later, but then when I realized he was not coming back I was really sad
The Salahster Same here! was thinking we'd at least see him once more but after 5 more episodes, went on to Google that this was actually it 😭
I actually stopped watching as soon as Michael left. I refuse to watch the episodes without him (because The Office isn’t The Office without Michael). After i watched Goodbye Michael, i just went straight back to the Pilot episode and watch the show all over again until that episode. Because of that, I’ve never watched a single episode (with the exception of the Finale) that took place after Michael left.
Pam standing on her toes to hug Michael is the cutest thing I've ever seen in The Office.
True that!
Pam is always a sweetheart❤
He wasn’t the only one to go to the art show. Oscar gil roy were all their too
Zulema Oregel Pam and Jim were the only ones who knew that Michael was leaving that day.
Golden x Diva
🤦🏻♀️
You clearly missed the point. Im not talking about the events specifically that transpired more so about the meaning behind the scenes
Its a simple nod to the beginning friendship because Pam never really respected Michael until that moment when he came to visit her and purchased her art because he, unlike everyone else, appreciated her enough to attend without being cynical or having ulterior motives. He was genuine and it signified a beginning to their friendship and in this airport scene Pam actually went out of her way to say goodbye. Closing the loop and ending/beginning a new phase for their friendship.
That’s what I meant dumb dumb. 🙄
You can really see the emotion through Steve Carell’s eyes
On the last face-to-face, you can see Michael/Steve start to break down - - so so sad, I can't imagine being there.
That's what she said 1:10 :(
yeah!! thank u. i was wondering what did he said
I love how even though Michael was consistently inappropriate towards Pam throughout the whole series, they both share the most heart-tugging moments together. Their friendship really developed into a warm father/daughter style relationship. It was so fitting and tear-jerking for her to be the only person from the office to see him off.
I think pammy is more like his mother than the other way around
sadder than the official finale
Well
true, he just comes and says 4 words and we are supposed to feel sad? this was much better
Steve didn't want to take away the spotlight from the rest of the cast, his cameo was more of a small treat.
is that a pun
Joey yes I cry a lot
You never realize how much somthing ment to you til its gone.
this is literally one of the saddest scenes in the entire god damn show
Other than the good ol' "I'm sorry I misinterpreted our friendship"
I saw this episode last night and I'm still crying, I just... I can't.
I thought Michael was gonna return after a few episodes, then I learned the hard truth when scrolling down the episodes list on Netflix.
Pakxs lmao I was really hoping that too
Ik he wudnt when i saw the part where they all sang to him and hebhad watery eyes. Also the jims goodbye too.

I think he means The Fault in Our Stars movie, which is a romantic movie which is probably a sad, heart-breaking movie. And this scene from The Office tops that.
AadilF1 how about "i cried only for this stupid man tears"? He cried for man tears? He cried 4 man tears, no more no less?

i remember watching the office for the first time and thinking, oh, what a silly little show. laughs and gags, how fun. did not expect to get hooked, reach this episode, and BAWL my eyes out.
What I truly love about Michael leaving(not that I wanted him to) is that he left a bunch of people he wanted so much to like him over the years to be be with someone that he loved and loved him. So good when you actually think about it!

I just finished watching this episode today, and I have to tell you, this is where I actually stop watching The Office. Season 8 and Season 9 don't exist no more. NO MICHAEL, NO WATCHING THE OFFICE.
You have no idea how much emotional pain you have when you get know that THE OFFICE has 9 seasons and Michael Scott leaves in season 7
I want to know what they said to each other.
jenna fischer said it was her own personal goodbye to steve carrell in the retrospective episode
Michael: im glad you came
Pam : that's what she said
Michael : I'm gonna miss you
I'm surprised that we couldn't hear it, since Pam should have a mic on her, just like everyone else does.
I imagine she had to remove the mic because it's electronic equipment... just a shot in the dark
Tyler Bolenbaugh Or she wasn't mic'd up because she was still getting back to the office before she had to go to the airport, they don't wear them all the time outside of the office
In all honesty, the show should have ended right here. It tanked after this.

I still don't why this episode makes me cry everytime I watch. There are so many moments in movies and tv shows which make us cry maybe once or twice but for some inexplicable reason I cry everytime when Michael leaves even though it's a comedy show.
This episode really made me cry. I remember when he called Holly and he was a bit hesitant about moving to Colorado but when he heard her voice it was all ok…but more than anything it was the urgency to see Pam before he left. Michael was always a sweetheart 😭
Same. I think it’s cause we watched our boy grow up and finally start the family he always wanted. He also got himself genuine friends that he never had before.
The show died when Steve Carell left. It lost its heart. To me, this will always be the finale. It should've ended this way.
Facts..instead of milking the show they could have just wrapped it all up in S7.
Season 8 is meh but 9 is good and the finale is amazing
@@chronics3710 they could've just ended the show here
They thought they could carry on without him. Then Season 8 bombed and they told them to end it with Season 9
@@journey95far49 there were a-lot of other characters that needed to have there backstories wrapped up. It wasn’t plausible but should have integrated the endings from 9 into 7 seasons.
