don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of Conan's work and comedy style but this one really left me sour of my respect for him :/

Just saw “Vengeance” on Friday. It was great, and BJ Novak was great acting in it … and writing it … and directing it! He was probably his own intern also.
One of my regrets in life is not applying for a Conan internship on my way out of high school when I did a lot of a/v stuff.

I can relate to Mindy's unnecessary lies and the odd satisfaction she gets from them.
Years ago I asked my cousin who lives far away about a mutual friend named Jason in his neighborhood.
My cousin tells me he was in an accident and had one of his big toes amputated and now walks with a limp and his demeanor is just not the same. He had been a great soccer player and all-round good guy so I was heartbroken to hear about this.
This was in the years just before Facebook and social media made it easy to connect with people, so I had been on the phone with several friends asking if they had heard anything about Jason and the tragic accident he endured and hoped he was doing alright.
Nearly a year later, after I had spread this story to perhaps a dozen people literally all over the country, out of nowhere my cousin says one day, "Yeah, that never happened to Jason. I haven't seen him in a while and just made it all up."
He was more than a little pleased with himself.
LMAO. My husband does this with me and my daughter. At this point he’ll say something insane and my daughter looks at me like WAT and I just say “idk why you believe him. If you’ve learned anything in this life is that your dad is a gd liar” 😂

I remember when B.J came to my hometown one night. Was walking around town and no one really knew who he was. My friends and I being Office fans did though and thought it was kinda cool he was here. Totallly acted like he was better than us when we went to talk to him. And when he got introduced at the bar as a "tv actor" all of a sudden everyone knew who he was haha.
Haha every story of a BJ Novak experience by non-famous person is this exactly. Guys a class A douche and even people who recognize him barely thinks he’s famous, at least nowhere near how famous he thinks he is
This is actually pretty funny to hear because to me in interviews he often puts off self-important douchey vibes but it was just a feeling and not from any interaction or story I heard.
Folks, look at your favorite episodes of the office, this man wrote and co wrote them. Thank you B.J.! (Just missing good television and saw this video in my recommends)
My favorite is Dinner Party. 2nd is Stress Relief (Dwight's fire drill simulation). Neither written by BJ, but Diversity Day is top 5 --that was BJ.
@@goatcheese4me Great choices, absolutely. Diversity Day-love that one. I have it on DVD. I miss those days of TV. You could see how the cast was so hungry to be there and knowing, or not knowing that they were inventing their own style of comedy.

In the office I always got reminded BJ was the writer for the show from the credits and i found it so hard to beleive the actor playing Ryan was the guy
Many people also don't realize that Toby (Paul Lieberstein) was the show runner for much of the shows run, as well as a writer.

His take on concerts is literally me. I'm 41 and I don't think I've actually ever paid to go to a concert before and had that experience, folks never took me, neither did my older sisters.. I went to 1 rave and a New Years eve party at the SD sports arena...
I still think BJ is criminally underrated. I've never disliked anything he's worked on or acted in. Smurfs movies excluded.

I never liked how Ryan was never developed as a full character in the Office. Knowing BJ’s talent, he could’ve easily become a fan-favorite

I feel like he was super developed, he had main billing for like ever and he had a really full and crazy character arc. And he and Mindy and the other writers did a great job making him an actual distinct character instead of the bland generic young person he started out as

As a kid I saw the movie "Twins" and shortly after I went to camp. One day I told a story of me being a test tube baby, everyone laughed and got the sarcasm...except one kid! He COMPLETELY believed and was fascinated, until one day he caught on when he heard me mention my dad - I responded with "that's just what I call the guy that shook the test tube" lies can be fun 😀
I wish that all of Conan's episodes were filmed.
So the director BJ Novak didn't like must have been Dennie Gordon since she was the only female director of an Office episode he wrote.
Yeah the age also matches up, glad I'm not the only one who opened IMDB and cross checked after watching this, lol. Krasinski must have liked him though, she has directed many episodes of his Jack Ryan show.
BJ is hilarious because he's talented and cool enough but he looks like he's ALWAYS TRYING and some people dont notice or care about that, some relate to it, but Sona seemed to pick up on it and try to knock him around a little to defeat his efforts lol
B.J. went to my school, he came back to visit and talked about his time on the office, even though we were older kids we still all asked him to read us "the book with no pictures". He read it to us, and we loved it so much. He also signed my chapstick.

One of my best friends from uni, repeatedly pranked me telling me he got a new Xbox. I've always found it adorable, cause dude, you know me, I don't play video games so I won't be excited if it's true and won't be disappointed if it's false. The point of the prank is to evoke an emotion and you clearly don't know your audience if you thought that me when I was already 25, would feel any kind of way about this. Would have been a logical prank if we were in our early teens though.

The best example of this in my life was when I worked at this Pizzeria... And there's one kid who eventually became like assistant manager... I had always told everyone he was on nickelodeon's global guts... Like the competition show... And apparently he had a piece of the Agro-Crag... Which is like a piece of the mountain you had the climb, It was a fake mountain and it was a fake piece of the mountain... But the story was even faker and I was so dumb the first time I believed it... And then I would tell other people It was true and have him tell the story... And I realized when I did that by the smile. And he got on his face and the amount of ridiculous detail he began To tell that I was the mark... But knowing that only made me tell more people it was true... So the joke was on me and then I became part of the joke because it was a phenomenal joke, love it
