His name in Polish is actually pronounced "Krashinski", with veeery soft "shi" and this name also originally has an "ń" instead of "n", which is like very soften "n" (like the "ñ" in Spanish, "gn" in French or Italian, or "nh" in Portuguese)
I think for someone who lives in the US it's easier to "americanize" their polish last name rather than constantly explaining how to pronouce it
