Karl's convinced that Homo sapiens is the pinnacle of all life on Earth, so any extant species he doesn't understand has to justify its place. He never understood (and to be fair, Ricky could never explain) that the very existence of a species was the justification for its existence.

Dude, watched An Idiot Abroad over 3 days. While I still think he's an utter moron in many ways, I love Karl Pilkington 😆 beyond his ironclad common sense on every day life, he went along with everything. For a guy who can get a moan from even the littlest inconvenience, he went along. Guy went 5 days through the Jungle for the show, he danced at Carnival, slept in a cave... best scene in the whole series, him finding peace in that cave. It was beautiful. Anyways, just my impressions of the show 😋

I think Karl was thinking that Ricky was saying slugs are as advanced as us, not as evolved. In that sense, I agree with Karl because slugs are a simpler organism (although just as evolved).

That logic puzzle at the end - here's a bit more explanation: If only one of them is lying, the situation would be either: both claiming to be a boy, or both claiming to be a girl. We would have either BB or GG. Because the claims are BG, there are two possible ways to get that - either neither of them lie, or both do. Since we are given "at least one of them is lying", the only answer is that both are lying.
I'm going to recommend again "Karl Pilkington: Satisfied Fool " from Channel 4's Comedy Lab series. It's on RUclips at watch?v=Od3YRKVQ1fM. It's worth a watch, and would make a great reaction video.

I got the little riddle about the blonde and brown haired child. I have to say though, while funny some of the points Karl makes are actually fair. Where is the sense in thinking too much about the big bang and where we came from. We are here now and that is all that matters, spend your time here thinking about things that can make a difference now or in the future.

This is the side of Gervais I don't like. Ricky's not talking about the scientific method here (i.e demonstrable; repeatable evidence using the scientific method). He's talking about Scientism. Believing in something like the "big bang" is a faith-based belief; Ricky wasn't there; and he can't demonstrate; or repeat it. Scientism is worse than religion.
The Big Bang theory is a theory proven using the scientific method. You’re talking nonsense.
@@jayc5373 So you can personally demonstrate yourself, that *nothing* can suddenly explode and form self-replicating bits which create an entire complex universe? (The scientific-method means a) demonstrating the phenomena yourself (small scale / in a lab) and also b) repeating the experiment to show it's not a one-off.
@@neilsun2521 - first off the Big Bang theory is that the universe expanded from a dense point, nothing more. The scientific method does not mean demonstrating the phenomenon yourself, not sure where you got that from. Educate yourself on what the scientific method is. Read up on the Higgs bozon particle to learn how particles achieve mass.

Ricky is such a strange man. He says magical impossibilities in regards to God, and yet is happy to believe that all matter once existed inside a spec smaller than an atom, which is only even a theory. His beliefs and preachiness are tiresome. He still makes me laugh though.
A "theory" doesn't mean it "might have happened" in science. It means it did happen, because nobody can disprove it.
