One thing to note is that Karl is very Northern. We have a more blunt style, owing to the phrase "It's grim up North". His relationship with Suzanne is very well suited as she shows love in other ways that makes him happy, as does he. We can be passionate, fiery, and whatever, but our love is more often expressed through practical things. Karl mentions that he doesn't do much cooking because he's shit at it, so Suzanne shows her love by taking care of it. He shows his by doing his part and making sure the dishes are always taken care of.
Dude your super insightful I love how you are able to pull so much from his small mentions of Suzanne . That makes so much sense and is as clear as day now. Shows how dense I am all I got out of his few mentions of her was she has a fat butt , doesn't listen to him and says she can live without him lol . Appreciate this I was feeling bad for the guy .

That’s not necessarily true. It’s not just that he’s northern, it’s also a generational thing. I’m from Manchester and there is a very clear line between older and newer generation of northerners and their outlook on life

shanustheanus - yeah I was watching it hoping for a genuine travel documentary, what? You seem to be the one missing the point. I found they tried way to hard to force Karl into uncomfortable situations in season 2 rather than putting him in situations where his natural comedy from moaning and groaning comes out. I found season 2 way too contrived and far less entertaining and funny than season 1. Just my opinion.

I'm sure someone else has commented but just in case, they do sell a variety of Karl Pilkington shirts, including one with his cartoon face that just says, "Alright." Amazon, Ebay, etc. I've found that a lot of times you will have to order from the UK for certain ones, just fyi.

Karl showing his childhood holiday park was just so endearing and sad.. I felt for him, seeing his fond childhood memories in a new light like that.. I hope he can see how kids experience things differently and that doesn't make his memories shit.

Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of Karl Dilkington 😀 if you haven't already, you need to listen to the XFM radio show episodes and the podcasts. They're pure gold. There's also a channel on here called Yak who has loads of compilations of all the stuff from those shows, e.g. Karl's school days, his parents, his weird science etc. And Podrot has the shows on podcast apps, I use castbox but they're on Spotify and Apple as well.
Thankfully there's sooo many hours of Karl to enjoy :)

Loved these videos man, I'm a bloke from Wales where Karl went on his caravan holiday. When he was on the XFM radio show (which you should check out) with RIcky and Steve he said every day feels like a depressing cloudy Sunday in Wales. He was totally right.

After Work Reactions he’s great honestly, I think I have seen everything he has ever been in and also I’ve met him twice and got him to sign a few photo’s which are framed now, funniest man on earth some of the humour is British but most is international and I’m glad people from other countries find him just as funny as I do, keep up the good work with the reactions they are great
I still use the term “ballache” regularly when I’m trying to tell people that something is a hassle or more trouble than it should be, despite moving to Canada 7 years ago. I get a lot of strange reactions but it just sums up the situation better than any alternative phrase I’ve heard here so far.
Karl’s favourite holiday destination of Porthmadog, North Wales is down the road from where I live. Wales is a beautiful part of the world.

Worzel Gummidge ran from 1979-1981, but funnily enough it came back in 2019 with a new series. I never enjoyed it, didn't even bother checking the new one, but definitely an iconic character in the UK.

Steve actually watched the carnival through through the window into his neighbours apartment when he was in Brazil, he told that story on the XFM radio show. He’d sprained his ankle I believe, and had the shits for the rest of his stay.
Now, I don’t know if he’s been back there since, but I definitely wouldn’t have been back after that experience 😂😂

Council estate- working class housing areas in England. Usually linked to poverty and deprivation. But also a sense of community especially when Karl was growing up. Not so much now
I'm pretty sure the thing about Suzanne saying she'd've been ok was to do with her mentioning Karl's life insurance money. He'd just been on the most risky part of the series where he was out of contact for days, I wouldn't be surprised if Karl himself hadn't prompted Suzanne's comment.

One of the funniest things Karl said that didn’t make the show, but is somewhere on RUclips, is about the fish in the Amazon that will go up a male’s urethra. Karl said people would tell him oh, the Amazon is great. “Well, if it’s so great, how come what’s in it doesn’t want to be there. It would rather be in me knob!”

You know to be honest I hadn't put much thought into it .Just assumed Steve was well educated , Ricky was smart and goofy and Karl was just a bit more laid back .I didn't realize they had completely different accents . I will pay closer attention next time. Thanks bud

I suspect that Suzanne was encouraged to be disinterested when Karl phones . Ricky and Steve would have wanted him to phone up a little homesick and for her to just want to know how the dvd player works .Just to make him feel more miserable.
