I want to play an Warfoged Wild Magic Barbarian, that is flavoured so that its magic comes from a rogue magic engine used to power it and is currently seeking the wizard who created him to uncover why he was created. (Also an excuse to play a barb with 12 on Int)
Our DM gave our group the one time change class card to a brand new home brew campaign, so my wife designed a Wild Magic barbarian based off Harley Quinn. She has a maul and various weapons. She likes the randomness & fun of this class. I picked the Soulknife rogue. It’s gonna be an interesting campaign...
Currently playing in a campaign with another player who is multi-classed wild magic barbarian and rune knight fighter. So much fun from the random effects. Great video as always.
I feel like Thor (like every golden comic book superhero) doesn't translate well or directly to DND. But if anything, I think Thor would be a mix of storm sorcerer and eldritch knight. This class is more like Flex Mentallo.
This subclass can be either really good or really bad depending on how your DM feels about the random magic table so make sure to discuss it with your DM on session zero. looking forward to the next subclass video.
Something I have thought of with number 4.....until your rage ends, it's considered light. So theoretically speaking, you can dual wield a great sword and short sword. And if you got the duel wielding feat(can't remember it's name exactly) then you can have a long sword and great sword, being that the great sword is considered light! That's pretty sick tbh
I just discovered you guys while looking for a review for Hexblade. You guys are great. Always on point, both RP focused and factual. You guys kinda remind me of Dungeon Dudes. But honestly, I iked your synergy better. I'll be following your videos. Keep up the great content.
I am currently Dming my first campaign and one of my players decided to go with this, I looked over and just said okay. He gave me almost nothing with backstory except that he thinks he’s a spell caster, and is infatuated with magic, his parents had left him earlier in life. So I’m going to make it so that his parents left him because they had to seal his magic for his safety, but his magic power is too much so it comes out with his emotions. I’m just going to slowly reveal this to him through the campaign.
It’s fun to take someone’s backstory and put a little twist on it. Just make sure you don’t stray too far from what they originally intended. I think that idea should work great! Good luck and Thanks for watching!
Soo glad I found your channel!! I had never heard of y’all (stupid algorithm grr) but I’m playing wild magic barb in a new campaign that started Wednesday and just wanted to find some tips and HEY whaddya know!!?? Lol 😂 Subscribed!!
4 means you could have a side arm in case you have the chance to dual weild. You probably have better uses for your action options even when you role that. It could help. Yeah, you want a different bonus action just in case you don't get one of the other ones... still might be a nice option and stuff just in case.
Ive been playing this subclass as a 7 int Bugbear polearm master who is convinced he's a powerful wizard, I refer to his poleaxe as my "Bladey staff of death touch" , "Sometimes it takes a few trys"..It is ALOT of fun ( Within the confines of our campaign we ditched the term "Wild magic" and refer to the subclass as the " Path of Feral Wizardry" )
Why am I picturing a set of twins. Born and raised near a wild magic area. One is a Wild Magic Barbarian, the other is a Wild Magic Sorcerer. Lmao Oh geez. Feat: Tavern Brawler with that thrown property. Throw a table. And it returns to your hands lmao
Guidance cantrip and some magic could be cool with the level 6 ability, one level and now you can upcast something, could be a nice replacement if you don't like a higher level ability. Maybe 1 level devine soul sorcerer and the magic initiate feat in cleric or druid?
I have a little girl character I just made that is 3 levels of wild magic barbarian and 5 levels of psychic knife rogue, for all sorts of fun shenanigans
My dm made a chart and I have to roll a 1d100. We killed Xardorok Sunblight by my wild magic barbarian rolling a 1d100. Getting a 35 I got...this... • If you are raging, at the start of your turn roll a d6 to determine direction and a d6 to determine distance in squares, at that location a 5 ft pool of lava opens up and they all remain until 1d6 Rounds after your Rage ends.
To be honest it gets boring fast with the little amount that can happen with a wild surge. I recommend to people that want to try this class to come up with more surges to at least fit a D12 selection or for extra fun get the D100 list from somewhere.
I just found this video. I have a wild magic half wood elf barbarian. I love her. I max rolled the damage on the tendril attacks in a small room of 18 or so maw demons. In two turns she did 266 total damage because they kept failing the saves for it. Anyone want maw demon soup?
As cool as the effects of this subclass are as a martial class version of the wild magic sorcerer, I feel that the actual wild magic portion is missing the whole point of the appeal of subclass it's trying to mimic; the set of spells is very shallow and the range of spells is very small - they have very similar effects with little variance between the severity or the benefit of their effects, and even with the later effects you reduce the variance by being essentially able to pick what you want - IMO the main appeal of the Wild Magic Sorcerer are those *_really high highs_* and *_low lows_* caused by *_the randomness of the effects_* that *_you cant expect or predict and you have to adapt_* - I'd rather at this point just use the default wild magic sorcery table - or at least create a more wider, varied and interesting self-tailored wild magic sorcery table for barbarians
I call this the Carebear barbarian. Don't you think that giving back spell slot is more on the party synergy side of things rather than rp ? Cause all the other things are related to rage. I'd say it's more like 1.5 on the rp side. Plus throwing your weapon as a barbarian nullifies your ability to reckless attack so it's not that great.. granted it may help if you can't reach but it's not that great.
Honestly this whole book just feel like “here is SOME extra damage, not a lot, but some” like over time sure it’ll add up, but an extra D6, or D8 damage up front is just meh
“It’s an angry Detect Magic” might be the best description of an ability ever.
"IS THERE SOMETHING HERE MORE MAGICAL THAN MEEEEEE!?!?!?!"
WHERE'S THAT MAGIC LIGHTNING COMING FROM?????!!!!??? ! THAT SPIDER IS A DRUID!!!!!!! SQUISH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah I can already see the barbarian "coaching" the wizard on how to cast spells! "NO! Use more feeling when casting, you dolt! Now try again!" LOL
From your heart's fire!!
🤣🤣
You had one job!

Multiclass with wild magic sorcerer. You are now a pure agent of chaos.
You, my friend, are dangerous.
I'm playing this multiclass in a campaign at the moment. It's a lot of fun
It just sucks you can’t cast spells while raging 😞
My first thought too
I can't wait to try this subclass. I cast cone of axes!!!
Lmao
Currently playing in a campaign with another player who is multi-classed wild magic barbarian and rune knight fighter. So much fun from the random effects.
Great video as always.
Thowing your weapon with this subcless seems like a good way to make Thor.
I feel like Thor (like every golden comic book superhero) doesn't translate well or directly to DND. But if anything, I think Thor would be a mix of storm sorcerer and eldritch knight. This class is more like Flex Mentallo.

Plus, maybe a cheeky sneaky attack, if you're multiclassed?
Technically not, since gaining the light property doesn't get rid of the two-handed property. It's kinda dumb, honestly.

Gotta say you guys are much better friendly personalities than d&d beyond channel
Needs a counter rage class now. A bardic fool with a feather duster mayhap? As always awesome video and full of fun, great job guys.
I love a lot of these subclasses they're amazing once and not-so-good ones but you get that with different books keep up the good work guys
This is the best class in dnd
Lol I love the unstable flavor of this barb. Wanna try this sometime.
This reminds me of the Muscle Wizard
*"I Cast Fist!"*
Exploding Navi!
Hey, look, listen, BOOM!!!

This is bonkers I love it

When I get the kill with the axe I always yell DEATH TOUCH , then smile at the team and say " See, it worked again, I AM a POWERFUL Wizard"
Why am I picturing a set of twins. Born and raised near a wild magic area. One is a Wild Magic Barbarian, the other is a Wild Magic Sorcerer.
Lmao
Oh geez. Feat: Tavern Brawler with that thrown property.
Throw a table. And it returns to your hands lmao
Throw the dwarf and have him return to your hand.
@@normal6483 cant do that.... well, at least wait for the dwarf to finish the mug of ale. Then "dwarf toss"

Wizards has basically made this class into Flex Mentallo, man of muscle mystery and Hero of the Beach. Embrace all of the weird.
Love this subclass!!
I want to multi class and have a wild magic barbarian/wild magic sorcerer. Imagine how chaotic that would be. 0_0
I have a few d3s, i bought them when i read this in Tasha's lol. They are kind of oval/egg shaped with 3 flat faces cut into the round surface.
Alex is looking fresh!
“GET BACK OUT THERE AND KILL THOSE FKN ELVES”
My wild magic barbarian during our war with the elves
I have a little girl character I just made that is 3 levels of wild magic barbarian and 5 levels of psychic knife rogue, for all sorts of fun shenanigans

Real weird lol thanks for watching!

1 word: Lucky

wild magic...what now?!?!?!
d3=d6 halved
Honestly this whole book just feel like “here is SOME extra damage, not a lot, but some” like over time sure it’ll add up, but an extra D6, or D8 damage up front is just meh
This book seems to forego direct damage with more utility/support abilities which is a nice change of pace in our opinion. Thanks for watching!
Seriously, whats with the d&d community being so weird about using a d3?
D3 = d6
1+2=1
3+4=2
5+6=3
By that logic, just use a d12 for both d6 and d12..
There is already a d3.
