What was demonstrated here is currently as good as it gets as of v3.0.8, which is very very basic stuff. Box projection doesn't work properly. Box can produce some weird result with edges separated from faces...as well as always piling up a bunch of overlapping faces. Box projection on any other software I've used always separates the the UV islands. There is no Flatten projection to sort out the mess the other projections make. The UV grid is not marked with a 0-1 boundary. You only get a sense of containment once you add an image texture. I love Unity and this package is now free, which is better than nothing and I'm grateful. You could use the modeling features of ProBuilder on a finished game that had a simple style but he UV editor lets the whole ProBuilder package down. I hope they can improve it.
A nice feature to add would be to export a UV Template using the Vertex Colors so that the faces on the exported UV template image are colored the same way they are on the mesh. Would be handy for creating masks, and procedural textures/Substances.
If anyone's getting an issue with a light grey square over your image when you Render UVs, undock the UV Editor window pane so you can move freely and try again.
Is there currently a way and if not will there be a way in the future to have a checkbox that if checked will only show the faces selected of an object in the UV Editor? Once you build something with a lot of detail and faces, the UV Editor becomes somewhat of a mess showing every single face of the object when you're only trying to work with 1 or 2 faces at a time.
im wondering why so many people hate unity. its the best game engine. i spent around 12 hours to install cryengine and it didnt even work!! then i taken unity and kaboom! 20 mins and its ready
It's more the fact that Unity has a bad reputation because of the bad games that have been made with it. Because Unity is so easy to access, it's licence is lenient, it's free and it has fantastic documentation - Everybody even slightly interested in game development can conjure up something dreadful and release it to the world, despite having no programming experience. Unity itself is a fantastic tool. It's just other mainstream game engines aren't as easy to obtain.
Another thing is some people who make tutorials like to encourage beginners to post their finished tutorial-based game in stores only to say they completed a game. I don't hate it but its flooding the market and giving Unity a bad name.
Idk what it is. The snapping function just straight up doesn't work. Holding Ctrl does not snap to the grids and holding shift does not snap to other UVs.
You need to make sure you have PREVIEW PACKAGES enabled. This is in the package manager and is turned off by default. Should be able to turn it on with a click of the drop down menu
nothing special u need to do in probuilder to make it mobile optimized. its kindof basic rule. polys kam sy kam hony chahiye and texture size not too large. hpoe it help :)

This looks better than Maya UV editor 👌
Are you kidding? You obviously know nothing about UV editors

I’m having a lot of trouble with uv mapping ProBuilder’s Pipe Objects. Any advice or tips?
On unity's place i would make agreement with Blender and co work with them and implement blender inside Unity with full functions.

@@ingrate6316 Yep. I had tried UE4 before but it was clunky and not noob friendly.

Kindly make tutorial for mobile optimized model and texturing. Like how we can make mobile optimized models with probuilder. Thanks in advance!
