I just use my phone. Made a phone holder out of Lego technic parts, screwed it to my R21 base. Phone runs simhub app. Cost nothing
This was a great video! I'm using simhub with arduino to drive my pedal vibration motors, a button switch panel, and a couple tm1638 modules for my dash. I just got a r9 a month or so ago I'm going to copy your idea here, thank you!
@@biosec9361 thank you! I’ve not gotten into any Arduino projects yet, not sure if I’m smart enough haha 😅
@@TheDirtyLime it's not too bad! Simhub auto programs them as long as you choose modules compatible with simhub it's as simple as running the wires to the right numbered pins on the arduino and then enabling it in simhub where it programs the arduino with your settings. I've been considering making videos doing some tutorials on it, there aren't many out there. I used old Xbox 360 controller vibration motors for my pedals, it's one of my favorite mods, and was pretty easy. I did find a good video on that.
Interesting. I wish I have more time to fiddle a project like you do. For now, I use SIM Dashboard App which still fits all my needs :D
Lovely video ;)
@@LovelySimRacing thank you 🙏🏻 very appreciative of the Lovely Dashboard, I use it almost everyday on iRacing.
Great Video!!! just oreded stuff to make my own DDU
Cheapo way: Two MAX7219 displays, oen has eight 7-segment numeric displays, and optionally RGB leds! Just need an arduino for it. Total cost with leds: like 6 USD
*P.s. you need a soldering iron* !
These are cool and all, but I found using a 6" tablet just works and is super cheap.
The cheapest way of doing this for me was just buying a lcd 7'' screen (honestly bigger than i was expecting) which cost me 35€ on aliexpress, it acts as a monitor and connects with a usb and mini hdmi cable, works amazing, sometimes in ETS2 i just watch a show on there instead of having simhub.
Found some guy that 3d prints mounts for moza bases and after asking him he told me it would fit the screen, cost me like 13€
Samsung built my ddu for me. It also doubles as a phone.
Touché, I use my phone in between races so I wanted something that could just work as a DDU.
Great video! Although these screens look cool I have personally just used and old iPhone 6 and a cheap 3d printed holder off of eBay. I also use sim hubs free version which allows me to use designs off the software
I really dislike placing a big DDU on top of the base. That is where my monitor lives so I made a low one with only the speed and shifter lights and I will make something like this on the side of the base within a buttonbox together with the LED gear indicator I still have.
I can´t find a Vocore screen in Chile. Is a generic TFT capacitive screen suitable for the project?
I'm gonna use an old android pixel 2 xl. That might do it.
My OCD wouldn't be able to handle the screen having a larger right side bezel.
i have an r16 i bought my rm dash on a 2nd hand chinese platform. i got it for 30 bucks because moza is native to china
@@sparrow6ix710 has nothing to do with moza being native to china 🤣
Has nothing to do with moza being native to china 😂
@@SIMRIG412 i bought my r16 and gs for 550usd shipping included.
Why don't you just use a old phone?
130$ it to expensive and than printing the housing on a 1300$ machine ...legit xd
i use an old 7" tablet with a 3d printed housing cost me nothing
Don’t act like he used that $1300 printer to do this and then thrown it away 😂
And finding something expensive is relative and the same could be done work a $300 printer
@@Bambeakzok so you still add $300 to the cost of his project duh still not under $100!
