Ever wondered what can be done with a piece of firewood covered in mould? Watch my latest woodturning exploits as I take a piece of wood destined for the fire and transform it into a bowl. This is only the 3rd bowl I've ever turned so I am still learning the techniques, but overall I am happy with the end result.

Ben's Got Wood
A bit about me - my name is Ben and this channel is documenting my very first attempts at woodturning. As a beginner, I'm eager to explore the art of shaping wood into beautiful, functional pieces through the mesmerising process of woodturning.
Through trial and error, I'm learning valuable lessons and gaining insights that will shape my skills. If you are a seasoned woodturner, I'd appreciate any help and guidance along the way - I know I have a lot to learn!

Here are some of my videos so far! - • Woodturning - Shedding...
Thank you for being a part of this incredible experience!
Please note my videos are for entertainment purposes only and are not meant as instructional videos. I am not a professional woodturner and some of the techniques I use are trial and error and probably not correct - in fact I'm surprised I still have all my fingers! I hope you enjoy the videos! - Развлечения
I have to wonder how many of these nice little bowls I have burned up to heat my shop. I will have to be more watchful in the future. Great turning.🤑
I know, it makes you think doesn’t it!
What a pretty little bowl - now I don't want to burn any more of my fire wood! 😊
So true! I’ve definitely been looking at firewood differently since making this piece -

Very nicely done. One suggestion, narrate your videos. Us beginners need to know what you're doing.
Hi, thanks for the comment. I’m also new to woodturning so I am learning as I go. However, I do agree with you that narration would be good so I have narrated my latest video which will go live on Sunday. I’m also starting a giveaway for when we reach 500 subscribers. 🤩
BensGotWood , 8:05 I thought you were going to make a matching cup for a second. 😂😂😂
😂😂 not a bad idea to be fair 🫣
Lovely ...and it's not even dipped in epoxy!
How refreshing.
Thank you. I’ve not tried epoxy - maybe one day! 😅
Very nice bowl from firewood to fantastic. I was thinking of a different faceplate than what you used. Saw on in the background; mine threads directly on the headstock. I was a bit uneasy with the wobble when placed on the jamb chuck. Thanks for the video. No narration but the video said it all.
Hey. Thank you for the nice comments. Firewood to Fantastic - I think that might be a video title in the future! Yes the wobble was not great, but I’ve made up some wood jaws for the next piece, so hopefully that will fix that. And also, I’ve literally just come in from the workshop as I’ve been making a video for release on Sunday - this one will have narration! I’ve been a bit nervous so far to narrate as I’m new to woodturning but I thought I’d give it a go. Hope it turns out ok! Will see I guess. Anyway, thanks again for your comments 👍🏻
Very nice
Thank you - that’s kind of you to say 👍🏻
Lovely grain. What wood is it?
I think it is Horse Chesnut, but I am happy to be told otherwise if anybody is any the wiser?
