I just ordered mine, I have a few batteries myself. Thanks again Michael!!
Fantastic!
Pretty sweet little tester! Going to have to pick up one myself!
Go for it!
Great tool I purchased this one last week from Amazon, although I’m unable to reach the negative terminal as it’s so tight on a Ford transit connect, kind regards to you and take care, Mark from the U.K. 🇬🇧
Thanks for sharing
The first one that said charge and retest will usually mean exactly that before you condemn it. On the second test where it said replace, I would remove and clean the terminals and look for the green acid fuzzy build up and ensure it is not just a connection fault. Get one of those battery terminal cleaner brush tools and pour a mixture of water and baking "soda"... not powder... on the terminals and cables. You will see it foam up and then rinse with clear tap water. Test the batteries directly like an out of vehicle test. You could just be getting the reading of the cable's connection rather than the battery itself. Clean and test the batteries directly on the actual terminals. That will give you a true reading. For side post batteries, you can get a standard not metric 5/16 bolt to screw in to give you better connection for the tester clamps. If you have any questions, I am here for you, Mike! Love and blessings from Ontario Canada! Tom
Edit:
Not sure of the tester options, make sure there isn't a deep cycle battery type option as well. That can have different reading for RV batteries.
more to come on the testing of the batteries. Great tips. I have those brush tools you speak of along with the baking soda trick.
@@Michaelsbackyardmarina Looking forward. Much appreciated!
Looks like one more thing for me to put on my wifes christmas list. LOL keep up the good work.
Happy holidays!
Awesome video once again 👏
Thank you so much 😀
michel you always do great videos
I appreciate that!
@@Michaelsbackyardmarina not a problem
All batterys should be charged first or all you are testing is a haft charged battery to full charge standard a load test is load to 500 amps clean posts and terminals tests good ..
Next test fully charge clean and test . Best charge 2 to 10 trickle charge 3 to 5 days test.
Thanks for the tips, and thanks for watching
Another point with lead acid batteries is that they dont like to sit still for long period of time (6-8months).They need to move and shake some.
I'm hearing what you are saying. Thanks for watching
:-) A dozen battery club :-)
thanks for watching.
how can i load test an AGM battery when its not in the car?
Take it to your local napa store or orielys
A good charger maintainer is Schumacher's , SC 9 . 10 Amp charger it will put out 10 Amps if the battery will take it the more volts the less amps needed to charge , then it will maintain with 2 amps if its so low it tests bad disconnect + terminal till all lights go out then
reconnect let it go 2 or 3 times if full charge then test . not a booster read all warnings cautions and instructions.. works good for me
thanks for the tip and for watching
EFB= Enhanced Flooded Battery..... a step up from regular flooded but not as high spec as AGM
Test the battery terminals, not the cable connectors.
I'd just clean the terminals then give it a full charge and wait for a day or more then test it.
Thanks for the tip
Are you trying to say NEVERSTART batterys are junk?😆
I haven't had bad luck with them. But the test results don't lie. Thanks for watching
Johnson Controls makes Everstart and most popular brands, just add a different label
You can't test a battery that's been in a vehicle for 3 weeks it has draws on the vehicle
You can test a battery that has been sitting for weeks. Just may not get accurate results. Thanks for watching
@@Michaelsbackyardmarina sorry your wrong it says to trickle charge battery before testing.
