Just in case anyone was actually wondering. Texas actually did start as it's own country. Then joined the United States. That is why the Texas flag can fly at the same height as the United States flag. So, just saying.
Also like California, can separate into more states without federal government permission.

Texas isn’t going to do it
This. All this talk of "legally impossible" is really not much more than copium for those who don't want it to happen. It does give the US a justification to take action against states that secede, but that's it. One of the main reasons why states like Texas and California don't actually consider secession is because of the practical benefits to staying in the Union. Things like free and unfettered trade from neighboring states, mutually assured protection on both domestic soil as well as for citizens abroad, and access to federal US institutions. I mean, the main naval base for the US Pacific Fleet is in San Diego, and NASA's main facilitiy for human spaceflight, Johnson Space Center, is in Houston. In the event of secession of really either of these states, what are they going to do about these crucial facilities?

That bit about the Texan powergrid aged like repeatedly frozen and thawed milk. Sure, it's independent... and that's a problem for them.
As for the "no state can leave" -- the US signed the treaty to form the UN. That treaty states that any unique cultural or ethnic group may secede from the country which claims its land. The difficult part is getting the USA to obey international law.
If Texas became independent again. It would be a disaster for the USA. Texas owns the aerospace industry in the USA, medical, energy, agriculture, and the military industry. Also, it has the busiest port now. Texas would have extra money each year to spend on its infrastructure. It would basically be a Germany of North America.

Texas is actually very independent and self sufficient in many ways. One including the fact no outside state power lines run through Texas, they produce there own power and electricity for the entire state. Texans consider themselves Texans first and Americans second. They have their own way of life, lots of very unique cities and locations, as a native NY"er I love it down there anytime I visit.
The USA is essentially a federation. All states have relative autonomy
Real Eyes Realise Real Lies wow! Sounds like every state in the USA!

@@anotheraccount2052 because new York city is one city with a lot of cultures mixed together. I said Texas is pretty much it's own culture together. I've lived in Chicago and in new York at different points in my life and they both were very similar. They were both northern cities and felt very similar and even had similar accents. Texas is a state like no other. New York has different people with different languages and dialects, so? That doesn't mean new York has its own culture. That means it has many cultures living together in a city life.
Love my Illinois but we wouldn’t survive cuz only food we got is corn.😂

You should do an updated version now. Hundreds more headquarters have relocated in the past couple of years and most Texans would probably be ok with independence
Texas is #9 as of today, and Texas CAN leave the union and so can any other state. Fact.
I don’t know why he thinks companies would leave the state. If they do, that would just create a vacuum and other companies would move in. Especially since in the early stages, TX would probably let them operate tax free for the first 5-10 years.
@@acpropulsion6191I believe you're right. I know in North Texas, Dallas County is being bypassed for Colin County, specifically for tax breaks. Harwood is really the only consistent downtown corporation that continues to expand. Most are just residential now
@@acpropulsion6191 ? I honestly dont think an independent texas is a place anyone who wants to trade outside would go.
New Taxes would be needed to pay force Texas defense. Companies would leave.
Why talk about Texas why not Alaska they always forget it on maps might as well be it's own country
The Rife's there isn’t that much people there maybe that’s why
New Zealand IS it's own country and still gets left off maps
And Hawaii, that's a state too.
Kode lol no one forgets about Hawaii
Because Alaska has a garbage economy.
My ancestor was one of the original old 300. We might get to see what this look like yet.
I like your videos.
the funny thing is 2 years later they are actually trying to do it now
They're always trying to do it when a Democrat president is elected. It's nothing new. lol
Texas will never leave. The Republicans won't let them. Their party is already dying. Losing those voters will kill it for good.
@@B3Band Isn't...isn't it illegal for states to leave the United States? It is, right? That's the reason why I don't think they'd leave.
@@l0rdgingerbread274 No, it is completely legal for a state to leave. Lincoln violated two clauses in the Constitution when he started a war with the CSA. Which is why he was executed BTW
@James Bissett what ARE you insanely blathering on about? Following the 10th amendment is traitorous? Time for your dirt nap libtard
When you forget that Texas used to be an independent country.
This video:
Wait didn’t it mention it in this video tho
No. I don't forget it. In fact, I'm thrilled it once was. It's own laws. It's own punishments. It's own money. Whatever it needed, Texas had it.
Oh please! Can we make this a thing!?
