Actually Chile claims sovereign territory down to the south pole, making it much longer than shown in the video, and form 1879 to 1884 during the Pacific War against Perú and Bolivia, Chile conquered all the pacific coastline up to Lima, Perú, achieving a costal length of 8663 km. Also during that time Chile had the strongest navy on the Pacific, patrolling with little opposition up to San Francisco and successfully sending a battleship to stop the US annexation of Panama in April 1885. So Longer Chile could have very well been a reality.
During the same war during which we stole Peru's and Bolivia's territory, Argentina politely asked "Hey, Chile, mind if I take all this land you own beyond the Andes? My army is doing nothing ATM.". And Chile was like "Ugh, screw you Argentina, it's yours." The Andes is a very strong defensive position, and the reason Chile is so narrow. Strong, natural barriers with few passes. But that also means that anything beyond the Andes is very hard to reinforce. You can't reach it by sea, and land passes are rare and easy to hold.

@Deva Rafael Yes... although having only 20 km of coastline with other Croatian islands closely surrounding it (not to mention relatively shallow waters) makes having a port there not very feasible. As such, BiH is functionally landlocked, because the nearest usable port is on the Croatian side. Also, if Croatia goes ahead and builds their proposed bridge over their islands that would enable bypassing the Neum border crossing entirely, that potentially spells more trouble for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
