    Very good video 📹 from Phil and very explanatory.
    Phil you need to teach your skills to the other chap. He always starts the video saying "we are going to" and then he goes missing 😅😅😅😅😅

    Great video guys 👏. Is there a limit to how many lights I can add to the chain? I am going to need 9 but don’t want to overload the circuit.

      9 led down-lights will be fine on 1.5 cable 😊

    On the T connector does is matter which side of the plug you put the loop in and loop out?

    • @homeimprovements
      @homeimprovements  7 месяцев назад

      Yes it’s labeled 😊

    • @JimDIY801
      @JimDIY801 7 месяцев назад

      @@homeimprovements on the t connector plug I can only see LEN on one side and NEL on the other, no other labels. I wasn’t sure if the power in from the previous light has to go in one side and power out in the other. Or if it doesn’t matter.

    R1+R2 MWC?

    • @wesley3312
      @wesley3312 6 месяцев назад

      You would do a R1 + R2 but because this isn’t a new circuit for this type of job a MWC isn’t required but obviously if it’s a rental / housing association it may be required for the tenant.

    • @kingofthetrowel1725
      @kingofthetrowel1725 6 месяцев назад

      @@wesley3312 I thought a diyer touching their own electrics is illegal, as I keep getting told by every spark.I’m competent in changing a light fitting and probably know more about electrics than you average diyer but unfortunately I’m not allowed to do it for insurance purposes so I’m told 🤷‍♂️

    • @wesley3312
      @wesley3312 6 месяцев назад

      @@kingofthetrowel1725 if you’re In a rental / housing association, or your home insurance requires you to have certification then yes, you would require someone who is competent to complete the works and to issue a MWC. It’s not illegal, but some works require signing off, the person needs to be a member of a competent person’s scheme, NAPIT for example, or the job needs to be notified to local area building control for it to be approved/ checked over.

    Never that easy, you could have noggins or cross members in the joist between the lights, also those rods are not that flexible and getting them through the other drilled hole would be a nightmare

    Great installation. But ugliest downlights I’ve ever seen. They look pregnant and cheap.

  • @LewisCraggs1

    Why are you showing people how to install lights. Only a qualified electrician should be carrying out an alteration to an existing circuit. You are presenting your tutorial like you are teaching people with no idea. Liability disaster for your business and reputation.
