Quad ESL 63 - legendary electrostatic loadspeakers

At last!! I have got my mits on a pair of ESL 63’s from Quad. I cannot wait to give them a run (hope they work ok) but my amp and CD player thing has not arrived yet. Will post again when it does.

Hi Mac's ...I started my apprenticehship with these -- we got the first pair in the Hifi shop June 1981 at £1001.63p per pair .( dont ask, I never understood the peculiar RRP) ... I hope they work. The problem we were up against is they were competing with stacked pairs of 57's ... the 63's fell way short. - we only sold 5 sets and that was it .. the stackers kept their stacks.

Interesting that’s apparently how Mark Levinson started stacking 57s…managed to get hold of one of his creations recently now that’s a beast 70kg for 100W RMS! 🤣👍
