Started getting into fishing more seriously (or at the very least moving away from just a worm and bobber), and these shorts are super helpful. I picked up what I needed for dropshotting the other day and I'm super excited to try it out! Thanks!
@@smittywerbenjagermanjensen3814 Oh, everything has been great. I mostly fish finesse for bass so neds, senkos and dropshots. Bass season in Ontario isn't year round though as it starts after spawn in late June so I've recently gotten into ultralight fishing to make up for that lost time (which has ended up getting me into panfish and trout). Went today and caught some massive bluegill on trout magnets and gulp minnows, but I'm hoping to go out bass fishing before the end of summer now that the kayak I ordered has come in.
Little tip when the bite is finicky I like to keep my line with just the smallest bow possible and twitching the line but making sure not to bounce the weight off the bottom sometimes if its windy enough you don't even have to twitch your rod the waves and wind give your bait enough action
Love the dropshot rig. I've been using it lately with 3 inch to 4 inch minnows. The only problem I had was that I was fishing it like a wacky worm. So I probably scared off some fish with how many times I was taking the weight off the bottom lol. I somehow caught a pretty decent largemouth bass tho. Once I got the shake method down, I've been slayin this summer.
Any tips on top waters? (mainly spooks) I’ve never caught anything let alone have a nibble. I do everything correctly and tried every color in the rainbow and nothing. I’ve tried for 3 months now and just sit there jerking the spooks while bass are jumping left and right. Only had blow ups on frogs but also, never caught anything. Yes I wait half a sec to a sec before setting.
@@TylersReelFishing the fact you replied so quick has me actually dying rn. 😂 Love your content. You, Ben Milliken and another RUclipsr have motivated me to buy a fishing kayak, sell it for a Jon boat, and I'm almost finished turning it into a mini bass boat. Thank you man. Much love and God bless. 🙏🏾
I know some places where I would need the biggest weight you’ve ever seen and it wouldn’t go down like just look at the peace bridge in Buffalo NY the water is so fact that it looks like the bridge is the one moving in the water
The drop shot is one of those things that's not even worth the time. There are so many other things I can use. Not bothering with trying to do all of that fancy rigging.

Heck yeah! Make sure you watch my full master class I just posted to learn everything you!
I always go back to worm off the bottom or a bobber when I strike out haha
Update?

Ice fishing helped me fully understand the "shake"
Oh for sure
We're getting close to that time again!
The dropshot is my go-to rig! It's caught me hundreds of Bass! I absolutely love it!
Big fan of drop shots. Very versatile, I'll run 2 hooks with different baits. Actually, I caught my PB off one.
Same here. I keep trying new rigs but end the day with dropshot. Caught my PB european perch that way. 49cm around 1,5kg
I LOVE the dropshot rig!! ❤
I say it in my head every time now because of this video, “let it get to the stinking bottom” 🤣
New to this. Thank you for putting me past the learning curve!
Glad it was helpful!
Definitely gonna use a drop shot next time I get out on the water
Same
I was just fishing it a couple hours ago. It has its advantages but it’s not the rig to end all rigs. You’ll see once you try it out.
@@sssrrr6223that would be the weightless texas rig, rarely fails me and has always produced giants
I catch perch almost every day with drop shot in north eastern Lake Erie.

lol I finished the short and he mentioned it too

Love it!

Search “TylersReelFishing top water” got lots of videos where I talk about where each is good, and I touch on the spook a ton
Nice I am going to give this a try
Do it!
Can you do a Texas or wacky rig next please! Awesome vid by the way, I subbed.
I have! Search “TylersReelFishing wacky” or “TylersReelFishing worm”
You want some fries with that shake
He's the guy that all the girls on Christian mingle are looking for. Lmfao. Good video man. I love that it's a short too.
Were looking for* I’m married now

@@TylersReelFishing oh yeah, congratulations on the Wedding and the kid. I think I saw y'all had a little one now.
I don’t know why I refused the drop shot for so long. I absolutely destroyed the bass today with it.
Glad you finally picked it up!
If I throw a drop shot anywhere where I’m fishing I will 100% get snagged lol
If it’s because an abundance of rock or wood, you’re probably right. If you’re talking about grass, you’ll be fine. Just rig it weedless
You can tie a weaker knot on the weight so that if it gets snagged you can still get your lure back at least
I find you catch more fish with a slow retrieve and not adding too much action to the bait when fishing a dropshot
Thanks I’ll try a drop shot next time get to fish
Can’t trust anyone that fishes without a hat or glasses 🤭
I fish with hats and sunglasses on 99% of the time. I just don’t teach on camera with those on, because you can’t see my face and eyes
@@TylersReelFishinghuh? That makes no sense lol! I don’t trust em ! So we can see his face and eyes lmao😂Boy you got a purdy mouth 😂
What combo you using there tyler
I have all of my gear linked in the video description of my full drop shot master class on the channel👍🏼
Ok thanks
How do you rig it tho
See the full teaching video linked in the video description 👍🏼

Umm sir the fish can't tell me anything
Why are you yelling at us?
I’m not lol

Then you are absolutely missing out on catching fish my guy. Drop shot is one of the most dominant lures in fishing right now
