    Great video as always 😄🩷 So many good tips in this video, I really struggle with drawing more loosely. But I’m definitely going to try your tips from this video, you make it look so easy. But I know it takes practice, it cool to see how fast you can draw. You don’t really need to do many details to see what you’re drawing, I think that’s one of the things I need to think about when trying to draw loose 😊

    • @KatieMoody
      @KatieMoody  Месяц назад +2

      Thank you so much 🥰 I really hope you give it a try! I have had years of practice drawing to timers so I think that definitely helps but as you say, it's surprising how little details a piece needs! If I wasn't drawing to timers I'd end up adding more and more detail which is lovely sometimes, but this way is a great learning experience for what works without 🥰

      Thanks so much, Sheila 🥰 I have a video on my channel where I review the Oroblanco which you might find helpful! I love the smoothness of the paper though I was a bit disappointed with how it handles very wet media! It works much better with either thicker paint or dry mediums. Thanks for this, Katie!! I have a question. I really want to be loose but I don’t feel super confident in my foundational art skills. I can draw a little but have a hard time with proportions, etc. do you feel like it’s important to work more on that first before trying to loosen up?

    • @KatieMoody
      @KatieMoody  Месяц назад

      My pleasure, Tristen! That's a great question! For me I'd have to say probably not, especially because with my style and the art style I like, I prefer the wonkiness! I'm fine with proportions not being too precise as I think it can add extra charm and character. I think with things like portraits and figure drawing it can be helpful to know the basics and foundational skills with drawing them, but with most other subjects I think it doesn't matter so much! 🤗

    Amazing tips as always, Katie! Much appreciated! ❤ Can't wait to put these into practice! My anxiety is terrible at times and it won't allow me to make as loose of sketches and drawings as I'd like 🙈 I'm hoping to achieve this level of looseness one day! It's quite lovely! And the ducks are soo cute! ❤
    P.s. what's the green marker you used for the first duck? And what are some color markers of posca, ecoline and faber castell would you recommend for just basic animal and foliage drawings? Or someone starting out? Sorry for all the questions. Im trying to build up my art collection but cant afford to buy the big sets just yet 😅🙈

    • @KatieMoody
      @KatieMoody  Месяц назад +2

      My pleasure, thank you so much! I understand, I do think practice and doing it lots does help and I hope your anxiety eases with it! 💛 I used a Faber Castell Albrecht Durer Watercolour Marker for the first duck, in Earth Green! I loooove the Beige posca, I use that one the most so that's a must-have for me! In terms of Tombows and Ecolines, I share my top five colours for those in my Ultimate Art Supplies video so I'll link that below! I don't have many of the Faber Castell Albrecht Durer ones but so far my favourites for nature drawings are the Earth Green and the Warm Grey III. Hope that helps 😊
