The drummer is Helen Wiggin! Google the Shaggs, "Philosophy of the World", and tell me I'm wrong. OK, maybe I'm wrong--I guess Helen Wiggin would be about 58 years old by now.
yeah i just saw them tonight in nyc 7/17/12...they played this way to fast here on letterman, its funny...they are awesome now, and her voice is amazing...she took it way to the next level....
i don't think he meant anything personal. the musical guests usually finish right before the credits roll, so he goes straight for the lead singer when he thanks the bands so he can wrap in time. he had to walk right past bobb to get to bethany in this case, so he shook his hand on the way over, but it didn't seem to me like he was deliberately NOT acknowledging the drummer.. although i can see how it seems that way more when there's only 3 members than when there's 5 or 6 ppl in the band.

Cool ass guitars, I love it.
I love the Vivian Girls...but Best Coast is better, in my opinion. Their sound is a little more sunny, beach style. I was just surprised an Indie band would go on television.
I know grunge and there is still clarity and brightness - J Mascis's tone for example. This was just noise-rock. Which isn't what the records sounded like at all.
Best I have ever heard from this band. Usually they sound like utter crap.For some reason they actually could play and sing this time. I guess even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and then

the thing i love most about this album is the harmonies. it makes me a little sad they aren't able to reproduce that live.
Idk...I think it probably has less to do with drummers not being challenged enough and more towards drummers not challenging themselves enough.
