Angus won the Guitarist of the year honors. When asked about it how it felt to have such honors, he replied: "I don't know, I'm not even the best player in ACDC."
Ironically, his talent, skills, humility, modesty and humbleness is what makes him one of the best players in AC/DC along with Brian Johnson, Bon Scott, and Malcolm Young (R.I.P. the last two). But not Phil Rudd though, while he is one hell of a drummer, he lacks the last three elements where he is considered hated and got his own ass in jail and not in the band. Just saying.

Please don’t take any offense to this. I’m just pointing something out, that’s all.
The band has stated many times and Angus more so than anyone has said that Malcom was the driving force behind the band and the sound.. without either mal or Angus AC/DC wouldn’t have been what they are..

Your video allowed me for the first time (I'm a 50yr old ac/dc fan) to truly understand (visually as well as audibly) how important or integral Malcolm's guitar parts were to each song! Thank you good sir!
Some of the best dual guitar work out there blends together so well you forget it’s two (or more) guitars. Same with GnR. Slash might be the most famous, but those classic songs don’t work without Izzy.
Ulf Danielsen That riff changed my musical life! I was a little kid into Donna Summers and disco then my dad brought back in black home and as soon as hells bells started playing my eyes opened all the way and my jaw hit the ground, it was the greatest thing I had ever heard and I was 9. From that moment on I imitated Angus every day for years playing air guitar lol and seen them 6 years in a row starting with the for those about to rock tour.
@@Monsterdrumma I have similar story. My dad got from my uncle Black Ice album for Christmas and I was 9 at that time. My dad blasted album in car on our way home and when I heard first riffs of Rock n roll train I fell in love. AC/DC is and will always be my favourite band. I saw them live in 2015 on Rock or bust tour.
Can’t argue that. My personal greatest all time is Zeppelin. However, AC/DC and Angus were the reason I learned guitar. Can never go wrong with either.
Internet high five man! I get laughed at for sharing your sentiment about that album. It was the album that I started on when listening and following the band. Groovy and bluesy all the way through.
In order of appearance: Back in Black - 9 songs For Those About to Rock - 4 songs Highway to Hell - 5 songs Black Ice - 2 songs Stiff Upper Lip - 2 songs Let There Be Rock - 4 songs Flick of the Switch - 3 songs High Voltage (International) - 1 song The Razor's Edge - 3 songs High Voltage (Australian) - 1 song Fly on the Wall - 5 songs [RESPECT] Ballbreaker - 2 songs Rock or Bust - 1 song Who Made Who - 1 song TNT - 1 song Powerage - 2 songs Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap - 2 songs Big Gun Single - 1 song (duh) Blow Up Your Video - 1 song Bon Scott Era - 16 songs Brian Johnson - 34 songs. You played at least 1 song from every album, that's badass. And you gave a lot of love to the underappreciated 'Fly on the Wall!' I love both eras equally, but as Bon made 6 albums and was in the band in 7 years, and Brian made 11 albums and has been in the band for 40 years, your Bon/Brian split was fair. Cheers!
I'm 48. Grew up with AC/DC from primary school. Always admired the respect Malcolm and Angus had for each other. Unity never compromised. Their choppy riffs immediately recognisable. Godspeed Mal...
Many idiots are complaining about the missed songs...well smart guys you can make a video from the missed ones let's see how you can do them... Great video by the way...plus an extra that you showed both of the guitarists. You did a great job :)
What i love about acdc is that there are so many hudden gems throughout every album. Like ride on, shot down in flamesrock n roll train. So many good songs that are overlooked
I like how you did this in AC/DC style, with each guitar on separate channels. I've always thought the best way to listen to them is with headphones on, with each guitar having it's own speaker. It's 3D for your ears. You can really concentrate on the great playing by either brother.
This video proves why the Young Brothers worked so well as guitarists... they didn't need to be overly complicated in their playing and they complemented each other so perfectly... exactly how lead and rhythm players should be.
Malcolm would always play open chords - G, D, A, etc... he rarely plays power chords, his power lays in his great tone on the pure open AC/DC style chords. Of course he plays B in power chord position, but even then he uses his pinky to bar it and get the major third on 2nd string. And on some songs like girls got rhythm he also uses the same bar chord, but most of the time it's his style open chords (G with 5th string muted, D with 1st string muted etc)
Profiledek Another secret weapon of Malcolm's is his picking hand. Watch live videos of him, he never uses up strokes, they are all down strokes. My friend noticed this after comparing Malcolm's sound and rythym to that 'of an out of control, nuclear powered train'. But what do I know, I'm just a teenager!
Sean O'Brien Yes, his right hand is very powerful, but also very precise... I mean if you really play his parts, the down strokes become natural... you can't really play them any other way, and if you do then you don't understand the feel, the groove. Malcolm has inspired me for a long time, he is my definition of a perfect rhythm player. I got much more into lead guitar recently, but i will never forget Malcolm's rhythm school and how much he has taught me.
He does not always play down strokes, there's many times live that he plays upstrokes (whole lotta rosie, down payment blues, and let there be rock as fantastic examples)
Jagged bacon Of course you are right my friend. Another example would be the way he finishes most of the songs... while Angus gives a fire-rising mind blowing solo, he goes "up and down up and down" with all his power, at full speed, just on one chord... just in case someone forgot what key is the song in... here you have that E chord, can you hear it now?! :)
Absolutely epic, man! Or, since you're apparently Italian: Bravo! Bravissimo! I'd give an arm and leg - well better actually two legs - to play like you do. I could hardly make out any "mistakes" (well, let's call them "differences") and the whole thing is EXTREMELY close to Mal's and Angus' original style and feel and that goes for riffs and soloes alike! The only thing that immediately sprang to my ear was that you played one or two surplus notes (=too many) in the "Beatin' Around The Bush" riff. Have a listen again in case you did not notice. I've been a huge fan for >40 years now and have probably accumulated a multitude of years spent listening to the Young brothers. Also play guitar myself (a little) so you can take this as a compliment. And dont listen to those Ibanez playin' over-analytics that may mock you for letting a note ring a couple of milliseconds too log or too short here and there. This whole thing sounds more AC/DC than if Angus and Stevie would play it on this day! Just one thing. Should you do this again: Get a Gretsch for Mal's parts. ;-)
Any guitar player, and I mean ANY, would have gladly given one arm to create 5 riffs like these, never mind 50, and Malcolm and Angus have tens of them, as we can see in this video. Here we have 50 but anyone who knows AC/DC reasonably well is well aware that the list could go on and on. This speaks volumes of how insanely BIG they are. Thanks, Andrea, great job, man!!
"For those about to rock, we salute you" give me goosebumps each time i listen it. I think it is the best way to be saluted if you die. I want this on my burial
Heard my first AC/DC song when I was about 3 or 4. I had a little purple mp3 with 3 songs on it (idk why lol), and one of them was “Rock ‘N’ Roll Damnation”, and that was my favorite song on the thing. I played it on repeat constantly whenever I could, and as I grew up, I learned of the band, and thus I fell in love. A decade and a half later, and they are still my favorite band of all time. Always. From birth until Hell’s Bells ring.
Pepe Morales not really I mean there are other amazing hard rock bands out there but play 50 AC/DC riffs to some teenager that has only listened to rock and roll when their dad is in the car and I guarantee they would recognize more acdc songs than any other hard rock band
Flick of the Switch, Fly on the Wall, Blow Up Your Video, 3 very great under rated albums. They all put me in this mood that I can't explain. I can lay down, put my headphones on, close my eyes, and listen to them straight through in a Rock N Roll zen.
Some really good tracks on Fly on the Wall but the production was abysmal! They made Brian Johnson sound like Noddy Holder singing in next door's out house and I've heard people who know about these things say they messed up the drums as well. It's a real shame. They - Angus and Malcolm did it themselves as with the vastly better sounding Flick of the Switch but for that album they had help from Vanda & Young - cryptically credited on the album cover.
@@stuartlothian1340Yeah, Brian's vocals had its ups and downs after Flick of the Switch. They have definitely improved after Stiff Upper Lip. On Black Ice and Rock or Bust, his vocals are at their best since the late 80's.
50!? I didn't know AC/DC had more than 4! I saw a video where an interviewer asked Angus how he responded to people who said they played the same three songs over and over. Angus giggled and said, "I'd say they overrated us by two songs!" Classic Angus!
I would say that's a common misconception, AC/DC are in fact very good at creating hooks, making each song unique. If every song sounded the same they would just be a run of the mill shit band like most bands are, and not popular and considered legends. Thousands and thousands of bands have been left forgotten and in obscurity of musical history because they could not create musical hooks.
A- bomb Nation to do something again implies having done it before. he did appreciate AC/DC, the appreciation just went down and this video revitalised it
Massimo rispetto!!!!!!
Let’s just casually toss in the Thunderstruck opening riff… like I don’t think people understand how hard that is to time, let alone in the middle of a mashup! Well done on this!
Well, it's definitely my favorite, but I guess it depends on if you like the more bluesy tones. Down Payment Blues and Gone Shootin are some of my favorite AC/DC songs.
Some bands may write deeper songs or have more complex solos but AC/DC riffs are simply the best,no riffs of any band stand out as much as theirs although Led Zeppelin is close
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! The man is a genius. What I would give to be able to play half as good. This is a rockin' 13 minutes. It is almost better than listening to the albums. OMG, have we been lucky having grown up with this music. Well done and thank you very much, from an old guy in the UK.
I can't stop watching this video! I just love the flow of the songs, I almost know the whole 13 minutes off by heart lol. I love the way the songs are ordered so they gradually get quicker and get to the quickest one then suddenly slow down in to a finale of for those about to rock we salute you which is one of their slowest songs (beginning) and finishes on the opening riff leaving it on a kind of cliffhanger, I just love it
Freaking amazing. We all can go and listen to AC/DC anytine we want to, but this video is its own unique awesome experience. Very well done in every aspect, thank you so much for making/posting it.
Your split screen Malcolm - Angus presentation is absolutely brilliant! BRAVO! And thank you starting with. Hell’s Bells. I hum that riff at my work whenever I’m onto something. It drives my colleagues crazy! 😂
Hells bells is the greatest riff ever in my opinion. It just drives and builds and when you hear it, you begin to feel on edge and excited. Its very adrenaline fueled

You hit the it right on the nail!

Some of the best dual guitar work out there blends together so well you forget it’s two (or more) guitars.
Same with GnR. Slash might be the most famous, but those classic songs don’t work without Izzy.
@@flekkzo true. You cans ee in their music that they were brothers.
Of course.
Hells Bells riff opening this.
Probably one of the all time best riffs ever.
Thunderstruck man
I want to learn it so badly
AGREED
@@Monsterdrumma I have similar story. My dad got from my uncle Black Ice album for Christmas and I was 9 at that time. My dad blasted album in car on our way home and when I heard first riffs of Rock n roll train I fell in love. AC/DC is and will always be my favourite band. I saw them live in 2015 on Rock or bust tour.

I’m going to say it. You can’t stop me.
Greatest band of all time.
My top 3 are Stones, Zeppelin, and them, can't pick a favorite. Listen to Black Dog, it's Zeppelin for the day. Gimme Shelter? Stones day.
Well you must've never heard of ABBA. Hello...
Can’t argue that. My personal greatest all time is Zeppelin. However, AC/DC and Angus were the reason I learned guitar. Can never go wrong with either.
My favourites are:
1.Queen
2 . The beatles
3. ACDC
A bit too one dimensional for that title, but they are very good. They are certainly among my favourites
That Stiff Upper Lip album is criminally underrated.
i agree
I agree, I especially like Satellite Blues and Give it Up
My favorite, especially when working out!
Internet high five man! I get laughed at for sharing your sentiment about that album. It was the album that I started on when listening and following the band. Groovy and bluesy all the way through.
I hope never happen but if AC/DC announces a last concert, definitely the last song all we must to hear is For Those About To Rock... WE SALUTE YOU!!
God yes
They finish nearly every show with Let There Be Rock for the extra solos. Usually works out to be around 15-20 minutes.
In a farewell tour, i'd like to hear it's a long way to the top instead of FTATR
FTATR is always the last song btw. It was written in that porpouse
If it ever happens first they MUST do hells bells then for the final, they have to do for those about to rock we salute you, THEY HAVE TO!!!!

Bon Scott Era - 16 songs
Brian Johnson - 34 songs.
Cheers!
Hell yeah, i was pleasantly surprised when he played so much from Fly on the wall.
The album has a different feel to the others and i love it

Poofter absolutely. No I even have something useful to do. Learning all those remaining riffs I cannot play so far.

Definitely
And mine 💯
You're listening to the greatest riffs from the greatest rock band in the world. Crank it up to 11.
@The Darrell it couldbe, but they are both very different styles of bands
love ACDC's catalog. doesn't have to be overly complex metal shredding to rock. Just crank the overdrive and dig into that A power chord
Angus is pretty fond of tapping and fast soloing though, I would say he's a lot more "shred" than someone like Keith Richards
Useless band
The only way to go !!!!
My wife “how long is this song Jesus?”

Rock n Roll Train was the most popular song on that album!
@@Lelantos_Big Jack
anything from flick of the switch, fly on the wall and eve for those about to rock. how old are you?
Im a rocker
I like how you did this in AC/DC style, with each guitar on separate channels. I've always thought the best way to listen to them is with headphones on, with each guitar having it's own speaker. It's 3D for your ears. You can really concentrate on the great playing by either brother.
This video proves why the Young Brothers worked so well as guitarists... they didn't need to be overly complicated in their playing and they complemented each other so perfectly... exactly how lead and rhythm players should be.
Nervous shakedown has a pretty badass riff
Agreed, have always loved the guitar work on that song
they all do
I never get enough of AC/DC. NEVER! Best band ever!
Profiledek Malcolm just hammers the hell out the strings, new pick every 2 songs ⚡️⚡️
I just love the fact that he looked like he was having so much fun doing all these riffs, smiling for most of the time as well and just jamming out
Absolutely epic, man!
Should you do this again: Get a Gretsch for Mal's parts. ;-)
Ralf Henke why don’t you buy him a Gretsch Lol
È italiano l'autore del video?
@@giorgiocampara5182 beh si chiama Andrea boma boccarusso, sicuramente non è islandese😂
Ethan W Wolf I seen an angus headstone. Like the cover of “Stiff upper lip”. I want one.
The solo to "you shook me all night long" is probably my favorite of all time. Thanks for including it.

Finally, someone who appreciates Fly on the Wall lol
My favorite album besides Stiff Upper Lip
You gotta admit brians voice had weakened and the fly noise was a bit annoying
@@stuartlothian1340Yeah, Brian's vocals had its ups and downs after Flick of the Switch. They have definitely improved after Stiff Upper Lip. On Black Ice and Rock or Bust, his vocals are at their best since the late 80's.
I love The Razors Edge riff. There's just something about it
