Intellijel is my brand. Probably 85% of the modules I've bought are theirs. The design is so clean, fun, and simple. I like that their designs encourage the user to insert their own creativity. I feel a lot of Euro companies try too hard to do the heavy creative lifting for the user with their designs and in the process they create modules that are hard to understand.
Totally agree on having a level of modularity in cases too. Feels like each case is its own designed instrument! I feel like I would get anxiety just looking at a giant modular wall lol.
Plonk in general sounds thin, no idea why. I sort of only use it if nothing else in my rack will do. I know there's a gain in there but still. I wish it were beefier.
I’ve ran it through a bit of distortion and it helps, but yeah unless you are going for bell tones (which has its legitimate place) it’s not for thumping kick/bass :)
I have a Rainmaker from Intellijel that'd suit that rig very well. Been very very happy with it. Together with that Shapeshifter it forms a natural pair.
Very cool for now I just have nifty case bundle and squarp rample, But I love Mutable instruments so next some after later modules!!!! Cool video!!! Plonk is in my wishlist, but first I will get some Pamela Workout and some system 100 behringer and some Mutable clones.
Quadrax and Quad VCA are always in use in my rack, great modules. Only problem for me is they make such big modules, and I don't want to give over all my space to them. It often happens with some of the more interesting modules (ex: Panharmonium, Cunsa, Rainmaker, Trident, etc), they take up so much space. So in the end I try to find a balance between smaller compact modules that offer plenty of possibilities, and a few biggies that take up space. Great video as always. Looking at your gigantic euro-wall, I had to laugh when you said 'it can tend to be a little expensive' .... 🤭
Yeah wanted the Rainmaker for sometime but it's huge! It's a luxury to have open HP - lol. I remember temporarily putting my Moog Mother 32 in a Skiff and insta regret it. And took it back out.
I started off with thinking i was going to build the System 100. I must say it was quite disappointing. I did not give up and can now finally say i have reached that critical mass you mentioned in one of your earlier videos. I have 2 quad vca’s from Intellijel, but chose another route with my set of modules. At the moment I’m having a lot of fun with the Cs-L, Generate3, Step8 and Poly Hector in particular. Can’t forget the HexMix/Hexpander❤️, PAM, Zadar…tbh the list goes on and I’m afraid it will never end😮. I tell my wife I’m building a space ship. Oh my case❤ 15U/124HP by Uryan. Oh shit! I do have one wicked module from Intellijel. The Rainmaker🥷.
@@donjezza well it can do a lot. But the responsiveness is slow. Probably cause we are all use to lightning fast phones, we’re spoiled. It’s a slow PC in there so while it’s very useful, love the UI, the slow response is a bit of a drag. Still it’s a grab bag of a gazillion options. Like a Disting with a screen ;)
@@donjezza This is one of the best modules ever. I use it as envelope generator, lfo, filter, reverb, sequencer, delay, plaits, rings, clouds. Actually this is a no brainer. I recommend it as ones first module.
@@MapleSonics thanks it won't be my first module but seems better than getting rings, Clouds, marbles etc clones individually and you get so much more than that. Thanks so much for your advice 😊

It's fun to see each Eurorack module maker's design language and priorities come through. For sure Intellijel is one of my favorites! :)
This is a very beautiful instrument
I just bought a Quadrax as the main function generator for my case. Boy, I need to read that manual! This thing can do a lot!
yeah! Quadrax is a beast!
bought the intellijel quad vca recently its been great
I love the Intellijel 104 HP skiff, because I enjoy limitations. Helps me to focus on making music, and not getting lost in the sauce.

How is the hector? It seems like a whole modular in one module
