I'm so glad you got a shapeshifter! So few people who even have one use them often, and you're one of my favourite modular composers. I hope I get to see you use it a lot more in the future...
Don't forget about the comb resonator and multiwave stuff. I always forget about them. I've had my shapeshifter for a few years now and there's still a bunch of stuff I haven't even tried, much less mastered. Bottomless module.
I love your content, thank you. Could you please make a video/composition using the Shapeshifter in tonal music? I've been tempted to get one for years, but I'm always disappointed by the harshness I hear from other people using it. Still, I'm attracted by it. Is it possible to create something pleasant/relaxing and somehow "beautiful" with it?
New video in the making! Finally got it calibrated after a firmware update. Indeed it can be harsh, but there's tons of amazingly beautiful sounds in there!
Would like to hear more from this quite large multiple oscillator module. I've still not seen that "Krell" film. I must hear the Soundtrack... Do you know if they did release the Soundtrack of the film? I'll have to check Amazon, might find it there... You have a great sense of humour. It's quite Dry. It's good to laugh. We all are in need of a few good laughs these days~👾
I liked the history lesson with the background music. I am thinking of getting one but still considering the tons of stuff this module has. In 26 hp you can process external sound, have a delay, wavefold internal and external signals, do vocoding… I feel it is like a system for complex sound processing more than a buchla complex oscillator type. Do you think it is hard to master?
Yes, it's hard to master, but that applies to any complex oscillator. Compared to a conventional 259 inspired CO, i'd say the ShapeShifter is way more advanced and powerful compared to anything on the market. Currently preparing a new ShapeShifter video that will help people to figure it out a lot faster than I did :)
@@CinematicLaboratory then I will definitely subscribe! For the bunch of features it has, the price is a good deal compared to other complex oscillators. Thanks!
@@ritec No, unfortunately my shapeshifter is not in good order. It was 2nd hand and it doesn't stay calibrated. I have to figure out if I should repair it or get a new one...
There's a tutorial about 'krell' patching in my shared system tutorial series here, where the patch is performed with the DPO. ruclips.net/video/fvQbNmDCFAg/видео.html
That was a highly enjoyable video. I love the unexpected combination of movie facts and oscillator demo.
Thank you very much! I always try to add a bit of context and some footage that makes it more fun to watch.

I really underestimated the shapeshifter and am really happy to have one now. It will definitely return.
@@CinematicLaboratory I'm very happy to hear it!
I love your videos. Such wonderful production and content.
I literally pause the video to post a comment with these exact words in mind!
The Modular Krell challenge! Cool 😎
Strong visuals 🎥
And inspiring sounds - as always 🎶
Nice, shapeshifter is one of my favorite oscillators and there's a weird lack of good patch videos about it.

would love to subscribe a 2nd time. your channel deserves waay more subs!
Very good content as always!

I'll look into it. I was planning to take the ShapeShifter for a second spin soon anyway...

I have the forbidden planet soundtrack on cd, as well as the movie on dvd.
@@snörre23 Really~ Does it sound dated or is it still relevant to listen to within its "datedness" ?

@@CinematicLaboratory have you tried reinstalling the OS on it?
Can you please share the details of this patch? Thanks!
