- Henry Ford's Greenfield Village, also known as "The Henry Ford" in Dearborn Michigan, has been one of the most requested places for me to visit on Randomland, and today for the first time ever, I have finally made it to the amazing historical village comprised of 100 historic buildings such as The Wright Brothers bicycle shop, Henry Ford's Childhood Home, Abe Lincoln's courthouse and so much more.... SO much more in fact that I don't even know how to explain this place in words, it must be seen in the episode! It's not just buildings either! From Abraham Lincoln's Ford Theater chair to Rosa Park's famous Bus, from the Wienermobile and Rare Fords (Model A, Model B, Model S, Quadricycle etc) to Mold-o-Rama machines and amazing historical artifacts, the museum blew my mind! And all of this is without even mentioning epic Train rides and Model T rides, Omnibuses, a vintage Carousel, Edison's lab.... This is a doozy!

“Choose to be inspired by the greatness, not by the flaws.” Love it Justin!!!
I lived down the block from the Henry Ford for four years. There was something magical listening to that steam whistle while you sit in your backyard.
an amazing place......a great place for school field trips to discover amazing history and amazing people
My Grandpa retired from Ford and started working at Greenfield Village in the late 80s and 90s. He mainly worked as an actor in the Wright Brother’s Bike Shop and The Eagle Tavern. I grew up going to the museum and the village. It’s been years but I would love to see them again.
“I didn't fail, I found 2,000 ways how not to make a light bulb; I only need to find one way to make it work.”
Getting married in the Henry Ford Museum next year :) The whole property is wonderful!
This video makes me happy. I grew up half an hour from The Henry Ford, we had season passes every year during my teenage years, and I still want nothing more than to be able to work there, but it's just not in the cards. That place is my Happy Place.
You brought back my childhood Justin, I lived in the area as a child, so many family visits to Greenfield Village and lots of field trips from school, next time you go back go at Christmas.
I was in Greenfield village when I was a youngster. Have not thought about it in decades. Now I think I will go back to Indiana to visit family and take some time to go and see it.
I live where Thomas Edison and Henry Ford wintered. Loving your historical videos.
I was lucky to have visited the Village & Museum once or twice a year while growing up near Dearborn, Michigan. My Father was one of the first graduates from the Henry Ford Trade School. Your tour and descriptions were fabulous ... well done, sir!!!
My grandfather moved from Canada to the US to work for Ford, it's what brought my mother's side here.
My husband and I used to work there! I managed the museum gift shop and my husband was a presenter in the village as well as a vintage baseball player. The best job ever! Jobs are part time there so we had to grow up and get full time jobs or honestly I’d still be working there! We have a membership and go quite often as we live 10 min away! It would have been exciting if we were there the same day you were. Wonderful video thank you
I work within THF and awww, I love how you presented this video! Yaye! I'm glad you had a most excellent day!
Ok, all of this video was spectacular, but I nearly jumped out of my seat when I saw the Mold-a-Rama! When I went to Disneyland as a youth, I got several of the iconic characters! I could smell the hot wax, as you were getting your own moulded prizes! What I wouldn’t give to have a moulded Mickey, Donald, or Goofy again!
What a great living museum!
The Henry Ford, and Greenfield Village are like nothing else. We’ve been going there for years, plus I’m a pretty big Ford fan. Some of the Model T’s used to give rides, were actually reproduced in 2003 for the 100th anniversary of The Ford Motor Company.
When you go back, first make sure to have a couple of days to REALLY enjoy everything. and second, leave a few extra days to visit the Bavarian Village of Frankenmuth, about two hours north of the village. If you REALLY want to experience something special in Michigan, head about 4 hours north and see Mackinac Island, an important site during the war of 1812
Yes, be inspired by the greatness not the flaws. Well said Justin.
Being a former Detroiter, you really need two full days to see everything between Greenfield Villiages and the museum.
Love that place…born and raised in Detroit!
A wise man once said, "never give up". These are the words that made Edison make the lightbulb which more than billions of homes have today.
Oh wow!!! I haven't lived in Michigan in around 40 years, but that quick glimpse in the schoolhouse was instant time travel! Even the smell came rushing back from the day I got to attend school in that room! It was around 1980, but still an amazing memory. I hope to make it back someday.
Thanks, Justin!
I was at Greenfield Village in 1970. We spent three days in Dearborn. Two at the museum and grounds. I needed a week. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
This is a very good overview.
Ford famously said, “You may have any color car you want, as long as it is black.” Most people do not know WHY Mr. Ford selected black. It was to simplify the manufacturing process AND because the black paint dried faster, thus, the automobiles could be produced more quickly (efficiently).
Why have I never heard of Greenfield Village? What an amazing town, and the museum holy moly that looks fantastic.
The best day at a “museum” I’ve ever spent. Jaw dropping history from start to finish. That’s my experience. So glad Justin that you got there, now I’m gonna savor this video. Thanks bud.
Great Video! Thank you.
Awesome! Live less than an hour from this great place. Highly recommended to see.
When I lived in LeClaire IA. (American Pickers, W.F.Cody, last Wooden hull Steam boat, James J. Ryan & Jr. -seatbelt & 5mph bumper - Jr.- black box flight recorders) the gentleman across the street from us restored model A’s and T’s and all kinds of vintage vehicles, they went in his garage 100% rust and came out 100% assembly line new.
His restorations were respected world round.
Don’t know what that line is about.
Wow Justin I had never heard of this museum and honestly I think this might crack the top 10 in the USA. Thanks for taking us along for the journey. You have done your duty. You can Hotel and Schleep wellll !
You are amazing at presenting the tour of Greenfield Village. ❤ Please go back and show us more.
Fully agree with all you shared at 15 min in. Grateful for the men and women who forged a path for the rest of us to follow.

“If I would have known”… I’VE BEEN TELLING YOU FOR YEARRRRSSSS!!😂😂😂I’m just glad you’ve finally made it there and now realize what an amazing place it is! Can’t believe you left the Village without getting on the train or one of the Model T’s! I look forward to you going back again and really diving into it all! You barely scraped the surface!! Thank you for giving me a little taste of my old stomping grounds.❤️
I keep saying “I told you!!!” as I continue to watch 😂
Thank you Justin for the amazing videos
Fantastic! I visited twice in the early 70s when I was a student in Ann Arbor. I went once as a class (optional) project and again with some friends. I remember Dan'l Webster's stone cottage.
i live in Farmington Michigan. and i'm so happy this morning because Henry ford museum and Greenfield village is my ultimate favorite place to go. i've been there thounds of times with my mom and my friends. and i request you to visit the Detroit zoo. that's my 2nd fav place to go
Watching this for the second time, as it is one of my favorite places, being from Dearborn myself, and presented by one of my favorite vloggers!!
Whoa! You are amazing Justin! Well done! Tons of information.
At 17:32 that was Thomas Edison’s grandfather’s house from Vienna Ontario. My wife’s grandfather was a cousin to Thomas. They literally picked up the house and put in Greenfield Village. Some wicker furniture that’s in storage as well is there in Dearborn. Thanks for sharing the video Justin! 👌😎
Please go back and film more, this was great, especially that museum
We have visited this amazing place, as our daughter lives in Michigan. Can’t wait to go back!!
I’m so glad you enjoyed your visit here! I feel like I practically grew up at Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum. If you ever want to come back, I would recommend Memorial Day because they have CW reenactors camp out all weekend, during the Christmas season because all the homes are decorated beautifully ( the village exudes Christmas magic), or in April because all the lambs at Firestone Farm have just been born so you can meet day old lambs.
I just got to say man I really love your content. Keep taking those random adventures. Otherwise I would’ve never learned about this place.
Justin I remember years ago recommending Henry ford's museum to you! Walt Disney went there often to get ideas for Disney land! I've been a yearly pass holder for them ,I hope you had a great time ☺️
I can't wait to go to the Henry Ford's Greenfield Village now! Thanks for taking us there.
Words of wisdom spoken well. That place is amazing.
Absolutely Fantastic. Thank You!
Just incredible, thanks!
Thank you. What an amazing tour and commentary.
I have been going to Henry Ford & Greenfield village since I was a kid. I am SO glad you finally visited!
Your comments about the negativity around the the 14:00 mark struck home .. your willingness to entertain underlines your teachable moments .. you are a true asset to clear-eyed historical education .. well done .. cheers
Thanks for visiting my neck of the woods. The Henry Ford is a treasure. Come back in October for the Hallowe’en experience. It's amazing and spooky!
Enjoying your visit to Greenfield Village. I went there as a child with my family.
Thanks for the blast from the past- I grew up near there & went many times on school field trips!
Justin you are bringing back memories, don't ring the school bell or let the chickens out. Trust me 😁 my kids did both 😂 we almost got thrown out of there 🥴

Amen Justin, we enjoy your videos so much, you are doing a great job. We love history♥️
You have a wonderful perspective on history. Thank you,
I enjoy your videos because you go to the historical places and explain the importance of it to your viewers in a entertaining way.
Great video Justin. There always so educational and hockey entertaining.
I’m so thankful you made this video! I watched it weeks ago and it inspired me to take my family on a trip there today. I’ve lived in Michigan forever and this was my first time to The Henry Ford. Thank you for this!
I loved my visit to these places back in 1975. I highly recommend it!
Have to go here sometime! Thanks for sharing your travels with us.
Fantastic!!!!
Glad you made it out to Greenfield Village and the museum. I live 5 minutes from there and haven't been in a while. Thanks for reminding me of all the new and exciting exhibits that are there. Need to plan a trip myself soon. Glad you enjoyed. This was a popular class field trip location when I was growing up and was always amazed every time I visited.
Glad you had the opportunity to check out one of our local historical gems. As you learned, you definitely need multiple visits to see everything. We typically spend a day at the museum and walk the Village the next time we visit. Hope you get the chance to visit again! Safe travels.
Great vlog! I was completely amazed and didn’t even know that village even existed. Makes me want to go.
I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit! It is my favorite place. I came on school field trips when I was growing up about an hour and a half away, and then when I moved to within 2 miles, one of the first things I did was buy a membership. It's a great place to bring out of town visitors, or just to come for a walk on a sunny weekend. It's great at Halloween and Christmas. If it makes you feel better, in 12 years of fairly regular visits, I still find things I swear I have never seen before, and learn something new on almost every visit. The presenters are great!
Fantastic.
This was totally amazing Justin ! Great job!
Bravo! Great video Justin!
Great video as always, thanks.
As always Justin you have done it once again another amazing show , keep it up love me some Randomland
