Seeing this display brings back memories of touring the Gilmore Museum with my wife and son. We lost our son to cancer but watching this video has brought back memories of wonderful family trips. Thanks to Matt and Mike!
Ah yes! The Gilmore Museum. What a jewel. On Wednesday evenings in the summer the museum opens the grounds to a cruise-in for all kinds of cars and motorcycles. People come from near and far to attend. A fabulous experience. Well done on the video Matt and Iron Trap Garage.
Great video, love this museum. I love the Ron Howard Impala aka Steve Bolander coupe. As Toad says “ this is better than the Superflex Moon Beam” ! ( a Darryl Starbird custom). I also concur that in the pantheon of muscle cars for me the 67 Shelby Mustang G.T. 500 reigns supreme. It doesn’t hurt that it was Jim Morrison’s first car he bought after the Doors hit it big. Of course I love all the muscle cars but that’s my fave.
Perfect on the video Mike!!! Caught every paint and chrome sparkle in the building. Amazing 👏 Loved the Packard, Cadillac and 1910's rooms! Cadillac was the real deal until 1971!!! Excellent video gentlemen
Very cool and thank you for sharing HOWEVER this clickbait title is nowhere near the world's largest collection. Lemay in Tacoma was and is to this day FAR larger than this. But again all collections are appreciated. Thank you for taking the time and producing a fine film.
HI Matt, I was there a number of years ago with my uncle who has two Packard's and a Cord. It wasn't as big and someday we'll half to go again. This IS DEFINITELY THE BEE'S KNEE'S!! These are some Beautiful cars! Thanks for presenting this video. Awesome!! Greg
The colors and paint quality really pop out at you, and of course the tons of chrome. Thanks for the taste of what the museum has to offer, I'm definitely planning to see it.

I would love to be able to visit this museum, but as a 72 year old living in the Netherlands it’s not going to happen. Thanks you guys for this video tour, I wish it was longer with more cars and stories about each one. In my 72 years I have watched as cars devolved from works of art and mechanical masterpieces to the boring contemporary vehicles that are hi tech look a likes. Very functional but about as inspiring as a bowl of cold leftover pasta with tripe. The magnificent cars of the 20’s and 30’s, wow! Duesenbergs, Packards, Cadillacs, Auburns, Marmons, and many other makes no longer with us today. The cars of the 50’s, each one very distinctive, unlike todays cars that look pretty much the same. Those 40’s and 50’s cars were what people were driving when I was a kid. Even plenty of 20’s and 30’s cars still on the road. In around 1960, 61, I was roaming around in a junkyard with a friend ( yes, you could do that in those days). We came upon an old Marmon. No idea of the year, late 20’s or perhaps early 30’s. I don’t know if it ran, but it was in decent shape. If we only knew what the future held. Probably could have hauled it away for $500, I don’t know. Maybe more, but still, if my dad had just bought it and put it in storage, maybe slowly restoring it, kept it in the family, it would be worth a fortune today. I’ll never forget the little curtains it had in the rear windows.
Good job Matt! It amazes me that within a couple of decades the automobile went from a "horseless carriage" to rolling pieces of art. Unfortunately the design and craftsmanship will never be replicated but thankfully they have been preserved. I'll have to add the Gilmore to my bucket list!
Wow, that’s Petrolhead Paradise !!! You guys are so lucky to have a motoring heritage museum like that, I could spend a week there and never tire at looking at it. The Graffiti display was really neat, did you know that Jeff Beck has the original license plate on his ‘32 five window coupe ? He’s been a hotrodder along with Eric Clapton for decades. The track nose T & the Chicken Coupe were great examples of Hotrods from the past. Thanks for the walk around Matt, I thoroughly enjoyed it 👍👍👍👍. Regards from the U.K.
This place is jaw dropping, the travel trailers weren’t there when I was there. The cars are amazing but the barns are over the top. I’ve seen pianos that weren’t as nice as theses barns! Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful collection, really interesting for me, this is something I just would never have seen, a lot of the cars you guys might think of as commonplace we have never seen in the uk, lots of makes just never made it over the pond so this is a real treat thank you I love the Duesenbergs, the model t roadster is beautiful, this place is the equivalent of walking into the louvre in France, every one of those cars is a work of art, people forget building cars is a artwork you are creating works of art, you use a hammer and dolly to create, this is way harder than picking up a paint brush, we are now seeing cars being given their rightful place in museums like this and the designers getting the credit they are due. The Lincoln convertible, that blue is gorgeous. You guys are so lucky that you can do what you do with cars and then drive them, we just can't do the same here, insurance and government just spoil everything I am so jealous. Thank you for the tour I loved it
Great comment!! I am grieved what I read going on in Europe regarding gasoline powered automobiles, vintage and more recent models. I hope the decisions being enacted become more balanced with common sense. All the best!!

Wow, Matt, I am seriously blown away. Of course the museum is awesome and Mr. Pete just did a 2 part video on his channel that was excellent. The only way you could have improved this is to have had your beautiful wife with you. This is on a par with any documentary I have ever seen on TV. The photography, the music, the narration, the presentation was artistically and professionally spot on. 5 huge stars my friend for you and all that helped you. Please do this again and bring your wife with you. Art
Thanks Matt, I was shouting at you to linger longer on so many cars, decided that when I come over to the states for a holiday/car fest. this will be a stopping place for at least a full day.
Impossible to pick a favorite from that bunch!! So many beautiful machines and so much American Icon History !!! You guys should be congratulated for your presentation of this great collection !!!! No "Roadster Show" this year. This kind of helps to fill that void!! Thank you!! 👍👍👍
You need to check out Kevin masters hot rod school and museum next time you head this way! A shop full of 30s willys, wagons, gasser style hot rods. Fiberglass go kart molds! It's too cool!
This place is off the hook, been there twice, and love how they present the cars to the public. Very nice displays putting almost all the cars in period correct displays.
Matt & Mike, great job narrating Matt!! Thank you for bringing this awesome museum to us, before your video's we were not aware of this great museum. We plan on visiting this spring. Be safe, God Bless!!!
It’s definitely a first class museum. Great video tour and it reminds me I need to get back over there this year again. It’s been a few years since my last visit and it looks like there have been many additions and improvements.
Just , WOW , thank you for sharing this with me ! Now I know where I have to go and see for myself ! You guys did an awesome job with this video ! Take care , stay safe and healthy with whatever you guys maybe doing next ! Doing well here in Kansas .
Really nice video. I'm sure there was much more than could be shown, but I think you did a great job in condensing your visit down to 25 minutes. My compliments for the editing and use of music. My favorite was the Packard racer. How exciting must it have been to see that era of racing, when pro motor sports were just beginning.
Actually the worlds largest car collection and museum is the LeMay collection here in Tacoma Washington. In fact, The collection has been certified my the Guinness Book of World records As that largest... and yes they actually counted each car.....last count? the collection numbered in the thousands, including Tucker car #7
Matt, the Gilmore is my favorite place on the face of the Earth. Mike did an awesome job on this video. This place exists because Don Gilmore's grandchildren, the Parfets, kept this place going and expanding. Next time you are in the area, see if you can get into the Off Brother's collection. It is in the same neighborhood.
What a Premier Auto Museum. Top Drawer as they used to say. Oh, those Packard's. Reminds me of the Duesenberg room at the old Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Nice cool, background music - which makes a change from the the usual high speed lunacy that is associated with car or motorsport vids. And the highly professional filming makes a refreshing change from the jerky stuff recorded on somebody's I-Phone. PS the cars are FANTASTIC - wished I lived on this side of the pond.
Hello Matt, excellent collection of cars in that museum, really beautiful te mando un fuerte abrazo y bendiciones para vos y tu familia desde Buenos Aires Argentina cuidense mucho 🍻🍻
Glimpse into Matt's future? Great job presenting the cars. Maybe in thirty years when Matt's had enough of scraped knuckles and greasy fingernails, he's got the chops to host his own museum. Good camera work, Mike. Just wish you let us peek into some interiors (dashes, steering wheels, etc.) a bit more.
Great Video. Now I know of Three Turbo Jet Cars. I went to California in 1995. We went to the Petersen Museum. They have the one that Lucille Ball's Car. Jay Leno has One, and now Gilmore. Thanks. #STAYSAFE
Cool. Reminds me of Harrah's in Reno. I wonder how many came from Harrah's when the new owners took over. They sold 80% of what was there....Great video. Look forward to the next installment.
Great video - thanks. There was a Packard museum in Fort Lauderdale owned by a man named Arthur Stone who was a florist by trade. Sadly he passed away and his wife kept the museum going - the last time I was there I met her and she was sharp however appeared frail. A couple years back the museum closed. I wonder if the Gilmore got some of those Packards. Among the cars Mr. Stone had a 1929 Dual Cowl Phaeton that was red and a Packard converted to a tow truck.
Fantastic production, guys! You even matched your music to the auto's eras. Camera work and narration top notch! You got an awful lot of cars into a short vid.
