I am proud to be an American Soldier.
BCT was not that hard. Psyically that is. mentally is where it gets you
zachowon what about if ur an heavier set person
@sfx 3000 oh definently
@@sinvlogs3381 it is still more mental then physical. I have seen people that cpuldnt do any push ups end up doing more then me and were bigger then me. If you have the mentality to push through neither is bad
zachowon thank you
Physically got to me hard mentally not to bad.
In my cycle a guy tore his acl and the drill just said "oh oh spgagettios oh ur done pri ur done"
Lmaooooo 😂😂😂
Oh, that's too good 😂
That’s so foul 😂😂
Lmao nice nice
Savage
I just finished basic 5 months ago, and my recommendation is, enjoy it is an unique experience, maybe the first day is very shocking but then you'll end missing your drill sergeants, they are your mentors, they are like that because they want you to realize that you can do more and know more about yourselves, so enjoy it, stay positive, your body has the capacity to do incredible things but we create the limits with our minds... sooo I hope you guys change your mind and don't be scared, you'll have a lot of brothers and sisters that are going through the same situation, you guys only need to fight together.... Army strong 💪❤
Well said this how my experience was and I lowkey miss basic
" Pick your bag up"
Very clearly is holding his bag at chest level while running.
I love Drill Sergeants.
Dominic Sumner shit you haven’t picked it up unless it’s over your head
@@relentlesj786 True that. 🤣🤣🤣
@@domruns9472 when I went to BCT in 2016 they had us carrying both duffel bags one on the back one on the front and that laundry bag above our heads
Can’t believe I went almost 6 yrs ago. At the time you’re like this sucks but we’re the lucky ones to go through this.
Hahaha, 10 years ago for me this summer
I ship to Fort Jackson February 11th. This makes me excited and nervous as hell all at once lol
You will hate it a lil, but its really fun. Just don't quit.
Relaxin Jackson.. good times..I went there in 2006
@@Xspirittz i went 2019
I go January 28th
@@dakotaheatherly4097 good luck, remember it's only mental, so dont let it get to you. It'll get easier once red phase is over.
When your senior is a female you’re gonna have a bad day. Y’all way more mean than the male ds lmfao
This is soooooo true
True, thankfully I never had a female DS. I went through Benning in 2013. I think they are meaner because they have to put more force and intimidation into their conduct since there are alot of males that wouldn't listen or respect them nearly as much otherwise.
Said no one ever. Shit is weak. Army basic over all is weak
Marco Fierro what branch you in?
@@cullensmith8341 8 years. 0311. Move along
I didn’t know it was “shark attack” when I went through it, I was just confused like is this what everyday is like? I definitely did not miss this part. Thank you to every Drill Sargent for the experience
Paing Paing Sergeant 😂😂
Congrats on senior DS! Hope this cycle at Jackson isn’t too rough!
tankdempsey14 oh most definitely my AIT at ft.Bragg was easily 10x harder and much more rewarding. I also meant rough as the new soldiers seem to be getting weaker by the cycle
tankdempsey14 one of my co workers just came back from Benning and he had his phone for an hour each weekend after the 3rd week, shit I only got my phone when a hurricane came through and I got 15 min to call and say I’m not dead lol
Y’all had a 15 minute phone call I had a 2.5 minute phone call 🤣
I’m literally on my way to the airport getting ready to go to Fort Jackson fingers crossed. I’m scared and excited as hell.
Good luck !
I served 7 years in the Army and keep it up Drill!! Thanks for training our future protectors!!
Raw and uncut no bs cover up to make shit look nice and sweet. Good video direct and informative
Watching their Shark attack makes me think of mine and it's giving me anxiety, however we had two big dufflebags and we were cramped and had to do push ups with no room and had to run in the rock pit.
Food 2411 dude that’s how mine was!!! I would of rather had this shark attack lol
@@josesolla8101 Well mine was relatively calm, however we were told at 30th AG that we only needed one piece of paper and a pen, hell no we needed our entire notebook and got yelled at and smoked. We had our bags locked and had to unlock them, then search to find our notebook. I think we had about 10 seconds or so to find it had had to hold them up, me like others couldn't find out notebook buried so we got smoked several times just trying to get our notebook.
Yep two duffles that were heavy as shit
I was just going to say. This seems like cake compared to my BCT Shark Attack.
@@holden4264 At least they don't have 2 heavy a** dufflebags
Lol I miss basic training, I went to basic In Fort Leonardwood, Missouri shoutout to all the drill sergeants out there 😂
I just hit my 2year mark two days ago. Sure does bring back lots of memories and would defiantly go through it all again.
I have my first fill day in a couple of weeks. I’m nervous and excited all at the same time
Good stuff. I completed in D-9-2 @ Ft Jackson summer of ‘85. Tank Hill still had the water tank back then, and those buildings in the vid were called “New Hollywood”.
It builds character they just don’t know it yet. Ahh I miss my DS
I could always remember mine clear as day! Definitely a day to remember
God I miss this shit , thank you for the nostalgia
5:50 Oof that sounded like attitude. Yall better slay his ass
I ship February 10. Can’t wait for it and I will get though this. First one in my family to go to the military. Proud of being part of the New York national guard
Lol send them to the trailer parks like we had to do.
Bruh them trailers were trash 😂😂 builds character though 😂😂
Keep up the good work SDS, keep up the good work
I’ll remember my shark attack on sand hill for the rest of my life. Came off the bus patrol cap tilted, BCGs crooked and one strap of my duffle ripped. GREAT way to start lol would do it again if I was young
I had a feeling this was relaxin Jackson Lmao we were in the front lean and rest when they introduced themselves 😂😂😂😂😂
Ughh. When I joined...all of this was done in the open, summer 2003, Ft Leonard wood. BDUs and older issue gear. Im jealous of the fact they had shade 1st day red phase.
Just finished BCT/OSUT Thursday! Doing HRAP for two weeks and off to Stewart after that! 🙏🏻
I was Bravo 1-61 2nd Platoon Berzerkers. I am proud that I served and salute to the newer and younger generations to come.
My shark attack in 2013 was in pouring down rain with my duffels over my head running in formation kinda like this. Give y’all props, I thought the army was growing soft in basic training.
I be forgetting I graduated BCT and AIT already 😂 watching these videos still kinda get me anxious haha
This was way more calmer than when I went to basic they hit us
omg love this vid...ft. jckson basic 03/2021 bravo 134 ..165 bde ..i miss my wolfpack days i dont regret enlisting at all..our whole cadre was motivating and did not play 1 bit🥲🥲
Can you make a video detailing the differences in being a drill sergeant and a senior drill sergeant? Thanks
Ah the memories.....I’d do it again in a heart beat!
This is gonna be interesting when i go back to basic again i have 3 deployments and 10 years of service i will be wearing my combat patches with pride
10 plus years. But I'm a pog 🙁☹️
They made you take them off at Benning and we had a guy that had a Bronze Star with V and they told him to take his patch off
@@fmfdocbotl4358 thats why this rule needs to change for prior service
@@rudyperez2687 they make their own rules up, they don't follow the tradoc regs. One of the guys had the regs in his pocket about prior service/reclass and the sgtmaj asked to see the paper, then ripped it up and said "we do what we want". But we got the last laugh on those fuckers
@@fmfdocbotl4358 It's jealousy that's what it is they see vets with combat deployments and want to disrespect them
when i went to basic training i was expecting this type of shark attack so the whole time i was just waiting for it and it never happened 😂😂
You are AWESOME!!!
I think i may have seen this happen back when i was in red phase a few weeks ago
We had our big duffel bags one green, one black. We had to hold them up in 106 degree weather. How I wish to go back(NOT) 😂
Thank you for your Service to everyone. But things have changed a lot. I went through in 1998 Basic Fort Jackson Charlie 228 Black Lions then on to Fort Leonardwood for MP School. It doesn’t look intimidating to me. When I went through it was scary this looked more like summer camp.
I’m so excited to get this over with I’m going to be at Jackson the in March.
Charlie company 1-13 3rd platoon is the best you may feel like the Drill sergeants may pick on you. But it is because they see something you don't, and it is their jobs to make you a better SOLDIER . But once Red phase is over it gets better. Because the Drills will know your name and make sure you pass all of your PT test and keep pushing.
WilsonFamTvSavage thanks I really appreciate it, how long was red phase and how bad is the running.
@@daryllndemmayah4874 red phase is like 3 weeks and the running is not bad at all for PT y'all may do 30 60s one morning. Which is you run for 30 seconds and walk around for 60 seconds.
WilsonFamTvSavage thanks men I really appreciate it
🤣🤣🤣 one marine DI can make more noise than every drill sergeant in this video
The truth. This isn’t even that chaotic. This is just a typical Saturday morning at Parris Island or MCRD SD
stiegerstx500 I must have dementia because I don’t remember asking
J Ray because it’s just sunglasses. not a huge deal
J Ray you gonna cry about it
@@bLitz407 no need to be so defensive. Let the old timer hate the sunglasses.
Must be nice to have a camel bak...I went to basic at Ft. Leonard Wood back in the summer of 1990 and we had to keep full canteens of water in our side cargo pocket, and with all the running we did every day we had some bruised right legs because of that damn canteen banging against it all the time.
This is going to be great
I got noticed day 1. DS summerfield gave me my first smoking.
BRO IS THAT A 1-34 PATCH?? just graduated about a month ago, CHOAS COMPANY BABY. Drill sergeant Schmidt was the goat
DS polito was my ds a year and a half ago thats pretty cool
I guess I'm old.... but I went to basics at Ft. Jackson in 92.....ets as an e-6 8 years later... but had the hardest drill sgts (much respect). but when that E-5 female ds showed up... it turned our world upside down! She was hard....I knew she couldn't beat me but I respected her rank and her dedication.... she was hard and I loved it! Hoooosha!
I graduated for Fort Jackson 1-61 back in Sept and to all those people who are about to ship just remember that red phase will be the 3 most miserable weeks of basic but in the end it's all worth it
Shoot I just got to my first duty station. I remember that like it was yesterday lol.
I went to Ft. JACKSON in 1994, November 94 to Jan 95. Delta 1/26th. Fun times
That's how I remembered mine but we had a hill too 😂😂
BCT, didn't suck that bad, just busy. Really fun actually if you embrace the soldierization process. Makes you feel like a badass even though you're not lol
I always loved seeing the confusion and anxiety of day 0 privates 😂
I'm leaving in less than 10 days! Thanks so much 4 this video! Thanks 4 your service! I'm excited 4 my journey and future! Cant wait! Prov.27:17 Iron sharpens Iron!
Wow, so I'm just scrolling through RUclips and found this video, I actually just graduated from Basic November 14th 2019 from 1-34 Fox company 4th platoon. I actually painted the green stripes that are on that drill pad!
A drill sergeant with no deployment, ha reminds me of an old staff sergeant in my unit.
4:25 Since when did we have officer as platoon leader in BCT?
Ryan Nguyen Infantry 2LT here, they just opened up slots for new LTs to be PLs for basic training platoons for a year before going to their unit
I did, I had a 2LT and 3rd platoon had a 1LT. Infantry btw. Also my LT had completed Ranger School about 8 months before I met him. He was pretty chill and tried to make sure at ranges, especially when it was really hot every platoon or at least mine had a little bit of Gatorade to drink. The night before a ruck he got us some which was nice.
I remember when I was at fort Jackson 3 years ago lol
Day 0 they only have their laundry bags? Man how things have changed. When i went through. you had your whole ass green duffel that weighed about 50-60lbs
Same here!
I remember every detail of my shark attack, listening to "American Pie" on the bus on the way to our company.
Heading to fort Leonard Wood on Feb 18th! I’m worried as hell about the cold ass weather I know I’m heading towards. Any advice anyone???
The knife hand is a classic form of intimidation
Yeah😂😂
All DS gotta have them sunglasses on day one
Oh man! Brings me back memories of my Shark Attack. I went to Fort Sill and my company didn’t do ours on the pad like this company; we did ours on the parking lot where the weather was blazing hot. It was around 105 degrees. It was hell! Those joining and going to basic training, be prepared for the Shark Attack. It’s meant to tear you down mentally. Good luck to you all! 👍
1984 Ft Knox was a different time. It was fun and games until the Drills picked us up at reception then as soon as we arrived at the Co then all hell broke loose told us we had 10 secs to get off the bus and 9 already passed people and duffle bags were flying out the front door and emergency exit along with being called every name in the book. Yes it was stressful but it made us become soldiers
I know alot of people hate on the military, but this right here is absolutely necessary for a nation to survive, somebody has to do it, and thankfully we have young folks who volunteer.
Man I went 2 years ago and it feels like yesterday
Looks like Ft Sill. I was there exactly 30 years ago doing this. I remember day zero being way more crazy than this.
How long is red phase? I go to basic training feb. 24th to fort Jackson I’m nervous but I’m ready to try my hardest and push through!
Yooo this was my battalion for basic, 1/34 Dogpound
she is so beautiful and very professional at the same time. I salute you but my time is over but I do miss the army. us army war veteran retired.
2:27 SSG Rosado great leader served with him at 10th MTN
Chaos leads the way!
Love the videos! Miss seeing privates looking like lost puppies
Wow things have changed. In my day PLTS didn’t have LTs, we only had the CDR and XO.
I leave for Ft Jackson February 3rd and am a 35W. Really nervous I might not be in the best physical shape for PT and even the shark attack
You will be by the end of BCT what ever you do keep pushing. Also listen to your Drill sergeants they will help you if they see you trying, and give you tips on how to improve. It really helps good luck Soldier I really hope you get Charlie company 1-13
WilsonFamTvSavage thank you🙏🏽 why Charlie company if I may ask?
@@NYgiantMEG Because Charlie Drills be hard on you but they also help you. Unlike other Drills that will just let you give up. But that's the point you can't give because you have to keep pushing. Also if you try to give up you just going to get recycled and have to stay longer. The fastest way out of BCT is to Graduate. But it really don't matter which company you are in just do your best and have fun.
Also stand out from the crowd it will work in your favor at the END.
I know you will be great!!!
I helped paint those red lines.. I believe its echo company now right? I was the last cycle of foxtrot 1-34. Man I miss it
I went in the Army in 1985 i never remember the Drill Sgt's yelling at us like you all do now with the trainees. Lol
i’ll never forget my shark attack on Sandhill ...was not fun at all
So I’m looking to into the military not sure which branch just yet but you had different color lines do those indicate which DI you will go with that day?
which platoon, yes.
I thought you were at sill?! I saw the landscape and realized it was different!
I'm 14g. Headed to Fort Sill March 16. What physically should I work on. I'm struggling.
I ship out to fort jackson on the 28th of January 2020.
Things have changed in 27 years. It’s not near as intense as it was when I went through in ‘93. The sooner those kids understand that it is to an extent a mind f@$! the sooner they will be able to adapt, become a team& get on mission. Good luck as Sr.
Getting old sucks. Back when I went through BCT the only female we saw was the thing at the chow hall and one DS! We did see a company of females at reception. That was it. Didn't even miss em as we had no time to care!
I remember that day. Fort benning
Same here!
This aent shit man. My little charter school was the same. “Shark attack” needs to be something the entire army boot camp is made of. Not enough aggression
*all drill sergeants screaming*
Captions: [applause] 👌
I remember my shark attack like the back of my hand. It was definitely a shock and awe factor even having gone in knowing it was all a mind game.
If you're about to go to BCT or OSUT it will be tough mentally and physically. But hows that cadence go? "If I can do it, so can you." Keep your head up and press on.
Edit: The DFAC may seem like a place to relax and eat but I assure you, it is the place your Drill Sergeants will be the most nitpicky. Second only to any ranges you go to.
Ain't this fun? Me, oh, Fort Benning Gerogia, 11 Bravo, Sand Hill, Airborne. Panama, Fort Sherman/Fort Davis Ranger. Whoaa. BTW, Colon was OFF LIMITS. :D
Any advice for vets going to BCT, i was in the marines but I'm nervous about going back in due to my experience and age (29). How do you guys deal with people with military experience? Ps: I'm also in rotc.
@ErickaBernie, As DS during basic at this point do you know if BCT is focusing more on the ACFT or the APFT for training. I ship out April 13th then to OCS right after that. Was wondering where I should lean my training focus. Thanks.
ACFT!
@@ErickaBernie Thank you for such a quick reply.
The good ol' HURRY UP!
Those are laundry bags. What the hell in my basic we carried all our bag we brought from home and received at 30th AG
How long did u make them hold there bags up for
Was at fort sill in 1996
I ship out to Fort Benning on February 11th
My brother recently went to 120th in Fort Jackson last Jan 15, and went to BCT just last Teusday.
I graduated BCT June 27 2019, and he was the only one who came to my graduation (my entire Family lives in another country so they couldn't come). Now I'm the one going to his graduation on March 26. So excited to see Fort Jackson and my Drill Sgts. again!
Edit: Just realized that this video was published literally a week before he got his shark attack, would have been cool if I saw him in this video had he been shipped a week earlier.
