    European Union citizens can stay in Singapore for 90 days without a visa, and there are quite a few other countries that also have this treaty rather than the standard 30 days. Worth checking if your country is in the list.

    How to obtain Nitec certification? When Im looking for job descriptions I see some of companies require Nitec or Higher Nitec.

    • @ChiusTravel
      @ChiusTravel  3 года назад

      Hi! I'm honestly not familiar with this certification? Perhaps it depends on the specific jobs you're looking at or that particular industry? I think it may be specific to Singaporeans looking for work post-graduation? Looks like this website does offer courses for this certificate. www.ite.edu.sg/admissions/certification-system
      But I personally have not seen this and don't have this certification myself.

      Nitec is a lower certification than a college degree
      nitec < diploma < degree

    Would anyone mind sharing some thoughts/experiences on the feelings toward tattoos above the neckline when working in Singapore, please? Thanks

    • @ChiusTravel
      @ChiusTravel  2 года назад

      That’s a great question! This in my opinion would generally depend on the industry and the organization itself. For the most part I find that there is a bit of a tattoo culture here in SG. Personally working for an American tech company I find that quite a lot of my colleagues do have tattoos. Above the neckline not as much but wouldn’t be an issue either. In the hospitality scene (especially casual bars and such), definitely tattoos are visible. If you’re thinking banking or finance, probably not as inviting towards tattoos.

    I'm thinking about moving to Singapore when I get a bit older. I've heard their internet speeds are so fast and good

    • @ChiusTravel
      @ChiusTravel  3 года назад

      Yes! So much faster than we had in the US and much cheaper too!

      @@ChiusTravel Nice. Well, Im Canadian. Now currently living in Europe for family reasons. But aside of that. Most internet speeds in Canada are not the greatest and its quite expensive. Europe has relatively good internet as well but not as fast like Singapore.

    Did u include picture in cv or resume or is it better to leave them off? I am not sure about the common pracTice there

    • @ChiusTravel
      @ChiusTravel  2 года назад

      I personally don’t have my picture on it. I’ve noticed though it is more common around here in Asia. But I didn’t have it myself. But I also had internally transferred with the same company!

    • @ChiusTravel
      @ChiusTravel  2 года назад +1

      Luckily I didn’t. But it might be something to expect based on cost of living of your current country!

    Is there any deductions in your salary besides the tax? Thank You! :)

    • @ChiusTravel
      @ChiusTravel  2 года назад +1

      Nope! Just income tax. Health insurance is 💯 covered and unless you’re a Citizen or Permanent Residence you don’t need to deduct for what’s called your CPF fund (essentially a retirement fund that is matched by your company)

      Plenty of teaching opportunities here! But it’s a very competitive industry so a lot of people apply for jobs in education here.
