DeathEngine2 Those goddamn memory cards gave me secondhand regret. I freakin love that system but was not willing to get anything above 16 GBs that shit was unacceptably priced. The best thing hackers did for me was get my 128GB microSD card working with it. If unofficial sources could finagle a microSD into working, Sony could make the damn thing to work with SD cards. They did so much right then ruined it at something so basic, I will always be bitter over that.
I don’t get why sony didn’t give the Vita more recognition and support. It has massive potential. I mean you could play PS1, and psp games, that alone is worth buying the Vita
lurkzie android phones have digital buttons, and it is almost impossible to get legal games into it, while on the Vita you could just buy them off the store

Yeah it's like Sony had 2 children but then abandoned the second one because it thought having it was a mistake. It's alright though, Vita will always be my baby.
Unfortunately it sold very poorly, so supporting the console for longer than they did wouldn't have made economical sense. It did receive some great games through third party publishers, and has a frankly amazing library of indie games, but the fact is that it just kind of died out from lack of interest from the general public.
It's crazy to think that Uncharted: Golden Abyss was a launch game. Imagine what first party games would have looked like had Sony supported it properly and pushed the tech to its limits.
Jimmy Reboudo u have a 2000 right? How long is the battery life for yours? My 1000 is out after only about 3-4 hours... I think it’s that oled screen eating it up
I have loved my Vita 1000 from day 1! I have about 175 physical media games and it has a very special spot in my video game library.... I still play it regularly, even 8 years after purchasing it! We were supposed to get a Bioshock, Mighty Number Nine, Infamous and Third Uncharted game.... Imagine how badass those titles could have been....

@@MrLeVip I am talking about PSVita. Well, I think Sony's effort to push it as a standalone console with different game library also backfired. Had they tried like the switch, having same library as 2-3 years older big consoles, they might have succeded.
@@MrLeVip The PSP didn't have a such a huge digital catalogue, it had PS1, PSP, PSV, Minis, mobile games, movies, so it didn't have to rely on digital anywhere near as much, especially for the first half of its lifespan, plus you could easily obtain microSD to Produo adapters anyway allowing you to use microSD without any modifications to your PSP. The PSP was a much better console than the PSV as far as usability goes. Honestly, if the PSV had conventional SD memory it would have been an amazing gaming device, such a shame.
@@goldensilence5841 People will mod and tinker with these things no matter what though dude, something as basic using a proper memory card slot shouldn't come into it. I've got tons of PSV games on my PSN account, but can only install a fraction of them on my PSV even on the biggest MEM card SONY provides for the PSV (64 GB). Would be really nice to have quick access to all my PS1, PSP and PSV games, instead I have to mess about with deleting stuff constantly, and if I get a fancy to playing what ever game I had to delete I have to delete another game lol, it's just total shit. At least if SONY released some decent MEM card sizes like 256 GB/512 GB it wouldn't be as big of an issue, but they never did, I'm hoping some Chinese 3rd party will offer some unofficial PSV MEM cards that are basically just modified microSD cards that ideally come in up to 1 TB or so, you never know it might happen eventually.
I always use mine as my smartphone replacement if my parents are taking my phone away. It has Netflix, RUclips, Twitch, PS Messages, Twitter and some cool games. My parents forget that they bought one. I love it!
The Vita was ahead of its time and far ahead of the 3DS. It failed, in my opinion, due to two reasons: 1. The brutally high cost of the proprietary memory cards. 2. Being ignored by Sony and not marketed well. The death of the Vita may have been a self fulfilling prophecy. #1 above led to poor sales which led to #2.
The PS Vita was a powerful machine for the first 2 years on the market. It definitely wasn't revolutionary though like the PSP thats for sure. PSP was released in 2004 and was the most powerful portable device untell the Iphone 4 came out. Back in the PSP era it had superior specs and could do more than a smartphone could. The PS Vita is a shadow compared to what the PSP was.
dead right....I have a vita now and I can't even understand how this wasn't supported more. The "augmented reality" possibilities could have been a game-changer.
I've spoken to some friends that work in AAA game dev and the actual biggest thing was something gamers didn't consider. The Vita was just too good for it's own...good. It really was just a compact home console and that made it very expensive to develop for to meet expectations the hardware put in place, compared to the 3DS that was waaay cheaper to develop for. If they wanted to make a console quality game...they could just make it for the already established consoles with far larger install bases like...the PS3. If they wanted to make small, cheap handheld games, the 3DS or mobile were the smarter options. This in conjunction with your listed issues just doomed this poor device. It's just the DreamCast all over again. It's a shame.
The original Vita model is such an exceptional piece of hardware. The internals are incredible for the time but even to this day, it just looks and feels phenomenal to hold

I really wish Sony didn't give up on it. That was their downfall!! The psp did very well. Had Sony put effort, the Vita would have gave Nintendo a run for their money in the handheld market. Accessories needed to be cheaper too.
Not underrated tbh If only Sony had had decreased the price at the beginning though but since failure is a failure, graphically impressive but high price at launch, overpriced accesories n memory card.
I think if they do they’ll do it in a way that combines things into one console like the Switch. They seemed to want to only support one console outside of Japan.
I'm not a fanboy so I'm not knocking Switch but I know what you mean. Vita feels Premium even in 2020. It just does. I recently grabbed a Switch Lite and I like it but it feels so cheap. It feels like they build the thing for $20 and sell it at $200. It works but it feels like Nintendo really cuts all corners they can, even down to the packaging. I honestly wondered of my Switch was used before for a second when unboxing lol. I like it! I don't dislike it but I can't help but think it feels like a toy more than a premium gaming device. Vita still feels like a premium device. From the design to the buttons themselves to the screen, it has another level of quality to it that it both explainable and unexplainable at the same time. I also wish they'd jump back in to the handheld market but they recently claimed they were done there. If they ever did I'd suggest that they return to the PSP branding, drop the proprietary memory cards and *keep the device separate from it's console cousin* . Make games cross platform all you can but tell devs to think of it as it's own thing as much as possible. Stop forcing mobile versions of PS4/5 titles, etc. Make it a true mobile gaming device, not just a device that plays a worse version of your favorite AAA games while on the toilet. Make AAA games designed FOR the handheld, like Nintendo does. That's why they dominate that market. They're terrific at seeing their handhelds as their own thing. Switch is kinda both but I still consider it a home console. I consider the 3DS the last true Nintendo handheld and up to then they were great at letting it be it's own thing.
After what Sony did to Vita, I simply can't forgive them. Fuckers don't have faith in their stuff, and till the end didn't make the right decision. Look at Nintendo and how long they supported the WiiU WHILST still putting games for the 3DS. I was hoping till the Vita's production cycle end that they MIGHT just announce a cheap version that has microSD card support. And it would have taken off pretty quickly. But no. Blunder after blunder. The way they ditched my boi, and how they sucked the Vita out of it. Don't get me wrong, the engineers who made the Vita did a splendid job. But the Vita execs, who chose to 1) Not cut it's price like Nintendo did with 3DS early on to boost sales 2) to have outrageously expensive memory cards that were compulsory, being the prime reason why a lotta people said they would not buy it 3) Cut development of it's games just 2 years into it's life 4) Didnt promote it with special offers like Free GTA Vice City Stories with the console and such 5) most importantly, release a non-proprietary memory card version of the console The Speed of memory card's not a factor when the 3DS and the Switch and gazillion other smartphones do just fine. Because their proprietary memory cards aren't any SSD level or such as well. They are barely faster, I have seen the operation speed in VitaShell, it's molasses. It was just an excuse to unsuccessfully curb piracy like the one that was prevalent on PSP. But that never works.
That's amazing! I still bring mine on flights and daytrips from time-to-time. I wish Near was still around, maybe we would've found each other one day lol
I also bought mine 2 weeks ago for P4G! Where are you at? I'm at the fourth dungeon. I highly recommend alll the Danganronpa and Disgaea games to play.
It’s the number one reason why I have such a resentment for PlayStation. The vita was a powerhouse. PlayStation gave up on it. I still have hope it would be revived. I’m the meantime I bought a switch. Wonderful device. Maybe I moved on.
Overpriced memory cards that aren't hot-swappable. So, people got the cheapest one, then find they only have space for 1 or 2 games, then find if they bought another memory card the first memory card they bought would be unusable anyway (Not hot-swappable, you have to format it each time you swap it), so they just don't bother buying anymore games. Well done Sony, you played yourself.

Funny story: Since the original Gameboy was so limiting in what it could offer, it took me until the Switch to buy another handheld system. Once that system got into my hand, it got my interested in all the other handhelds I missed out on. That led me to buy a 3DS, which then led to getting a Vita. Now, my trifecta of the Switch, 3DS, and Vita are my main systems I play (even though I’ve had the PS5 and Series X since launch. Hope there are some games to come out soon that motivate me to go back to my 65 inch 4K tv).

Imo it’s probably the best portable emulator you can buy (unless the switch can be hacked to the same extent because it’s definitely more powerful, but I haven’t looked into switch hacking). It plays pretty much every game any other portable emulator can plus more, and the memory card thing isn’t even an issue anymore since you can use sd cards on a hacked vita

How does the vita have more features then the switch and it came out 9 years ago? for example built in camera, Bluetooth, browser, apps, and overall just a better quality handheld. Nintendo really needs to take a good look at the vita and step it's game up.
Don't forget the better OLED screen, touch controls on the back and 3G mobile data support. Not to mention one of the best d-pads ever. While I understand why Switch doesn't have a d-pad I would buy it if they released a d-pad joy-con.
@@Hamood113 Tearaway made good use of it and if the Vita had more first party support maybe we would have seen more clever use cases. Some features would've been nice on switch. Some features are unnecessary. Also history has proven that having a bunch of non gaming features doesn't guarantee success.
The funny thing is the Vita was actually more popular than the 3ds in Japan. And even after Sony in America basically gave up on it, in Japan it was still thriving. That is the reason why if you look at the Vita game library most of it is localised games from japan. Still sad they didn't pull out the potential out of the system. I think if they didn't use proprietary memory for the system it would have turn out far better. I think the real reason they didn't use regular SD cards was because they feared the same thing that happened with the PSP would happen with the vita. The stupid thing was it was still hacked pretty quickly even though you do have to jump through a few more hoops to do so.
Shout outs to the Vita's absolutely GODLY screen off battery life. I just picked mine up after not having charged it for about a month and a half and it STILL had charge in it. Absolutely mental

@@Onion_Nite why would 3G HSPA+ fail the Vita? This was released in 2012 which meant that it was in development throughout 2011 maybe even part of 2010. LTE was still in its infancy. The first LTE phone got about 4 hours of battery life. The Vita got about the same without using LTE. Why would a gaming handheld need a faster connection? @@SuperHyphyOne i did say it was solid enough connection to game on MP modes and download updates on the go. But I will say locking to AT&T was a dummy move
John S AT&T was the best choice for a couple of different reasons. It was the carrier that was most compatible with the rest of the world. T-Mobile, the other GSM carrier in the US, used a non-standard set of frequencies that weren’t directly compatible with AT&T. At the time, phone OEMs had to make two different variants for that reason. Even if Sony offered an unlocked version of the Vita in the US, it wouldn’t work with T-Mobile’s 3G frequencies. It didn’t make financial sense to offer a T-Mobile variant of the Vita specifically for the US market when there was little assurance that it would sell. We know how that played out. Another reason against T-Mobile was that it SUCKED back then. Speeds were ok.......if one’s area actually had decent coverage. T-Mobile back then was a far cry from what it is today.

@@JohnDoe-kv3kd After looking into their newest game 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, it took them a little over 4 years to develop. It also apparently was a very difficult project for them to create, due to having a much larger scope than their prior titles. It was originally supposed to release in Japan in 2018 on the Vita and the PS4, and instead release last year only on the PS4. And that game is still gonna be localized for other nations. After looking into that game, I'd say that's most likely the reason we haven't seen something like Muramasa releasing on the Switch. They seemed to overload themselves making that title, while also re-releasing some of their past titles in the middle of their new title's development.

They went with those memory cards to combat piracy. End of story. Zero doubt. In fact, the memory cards were *slower* than the average SD card on the market in 2011. It was to combat the piracy that became quite big on PSP.
Ridiculous that they still hadn't learnt their lesson with that. Nintendo fucked themselves hard with carts on the N64 vs the heavily pirated discs on the PS1, which did gangbusters. They fucked thenselves with UMDs on the psp too (wow, discs for a handheld, what a great idea)

This will always be salt in my wound from Sony. I loved/love the PSP and I really really liked the vita a lot but when Sony just basically gave up on it after the PS4 took off I don't think I've ever been more disappointed. To this day them abandoning the handheld market to Nintendo is still something that sticks in my craw. when I see what Nintendo is done and what Sony could have done had they actually supported the thing and continued it's lineage to something closer to the switch or even better I'm just left thinking of what could have been.
@Mike UK Nintendo figured it out a hybrid is the best/only way to make this work. It guarantees you get a consistent experience either in handheld mode or docked and that games will be supported across the board. Clearly when the PS4 took off Sony made a basic decision. the thing that makes the most money and has the most support (developer wise) will get all the attention the other one will simply be allowed to wither and die. Sony couldn't make another one if they wanted to because confidence would be non-existent in a new one after what they did with the vita.
Both Sony and Nintendo opted to support 1 device and that's probably because how expensive game development has gotten. Now all Sony first party games go to PS4 and all Nintendo ones go to the Switch. The interesting thing is that Sony already attempted to make a hybrid device with PSP Go which had an actual dock accessory to play games on the TV with a Dualshock 3 wirelessly. It was the most portable handheld too but only supported digital games and didn't took off in the end.
@@weaverquest And of course the Vita TV aka PSTV. Yeah I know people have talked about that for quite a while yes the PSP and the Vita were technically hybrids before that was a thing. It feels like a slap in the face to a lot of third-party developers/publishers, too. Koei Tecmo ported nearly all of their games to Vita for many years, and it was a haven for smaller Japanese devs and indies.

It’s probably already been said given the age of the video but Sony didn’t give up on the Vita. They didn’t give it as much attention in NA as it did in Japan. A prime example of this is Catherine Full Body was released for the Vita in Japan but not in the west. Just a matter of perspective.

Killzone Mercenaries still looks awesome! And the gameplay was even better than the looks! The stealth system alone was really solid - better than in some actual stealth shooters! And that was only one way to complete missions. So much depth! Absolutely incredible - easily in the top 3 of my favourite console shooters along Halo 3 and Splatoon 2!

I still play & recently platinumed a couple games & im playing a Lego game now (love Lego games for their simplicity & stress relieving properties). Absolutely Killzone is the best looking & just so happens to be my fav shooter series...of course platinumed all games. KZ2 is the peak but they’re all really good.
The $300 entry cost and expensive proprietary SD Cards is what killed it. If Nintendo Switch had used proprietary SD Cards it to would've been a failure.
VITA was a great device, I think it was such an improvement over PSP but given it launched into a post smart phone gaming world it was always going to have a hard time replicating it's predecessor's success.
ARM based processors are what bridged the gap. They have always been supremely powerful in a very small, power efficient package. That was what was even in the GBA and why it was rather impressive for the time. Now it's the Nvidia Shield chipsets, and the funny part is what they are using in the Switch now is supremely outdated. It could be MUCH more powerful if they'd only release an updated Switch Pro version or something.
You need to be more specific. SONY AMERICA FAILED the Vita. Tried to "sell it" as a peripheral for the ps3 rather than as a GAME SYSTEM. SONY JAPAN showed love to the handheld. Why soooo many amazing Vita games came from 'The Land Of The Rising Sun'.

Absolutely agree. And I still use mine mostly for PS4 remote play. Bought a button trigger grips from Aliexpress and enjoy almost all of PS4 games on it. Its really and impressive device! ❤❤❤
I still believe the PS Vita is one of the most impressive handhelds ever. What killed it was complacency. They got comfortable with indie games. Nintendo switch is doing the same thing. In reality I didn’t want to buy a console price handheld to play indie games.
Still have my Vita, and still love it! It's worth owning one, if only for the PS4 Remote Play function. "Killzone" and "Uncharted" are probably my favourite games, and still look great today. It really is a shame that Sony abandoned the Vita, it could have been so much more.
There’s a saying that describes the system perfectly:
“The Vita didn’t fail Sony, Sony failed the Vita.”
Indeed exactly what happened
They knew that it would affect sales of ps4 which fetches them bigger profit.
Yes you are the best Sony failed the vita thanks you

I don’t get why sony didn’t give the Vita more recognition and support. It has massive potential. I mean you could play PS1, and psp games, that alone is worth buying the Vita

I used to carry this everywhere with me, along with my 3DS. The experience was just too unique at the time.
Yeah it's like Sony had 2 children but then abandoned the second one because it thought having it was a mistake. It's alright though, Vita will always be my baby.
It’s weird because everywhere I go online it seems like every single person LOVES the Vita.
Killzone Mercenary is a good example. Playing it via PS TV on bigger screen is mind-blowing - the image quality is not far behing Killzone 3 on PS3.

The Vita was ahead of its time and far ahead of the 3DS. It failed, in my opinion, due to two reasons:
The lack of games was just mad
dead right....I have a vita now and I can't even understand how this wasn't supported more.
It was seemingly marketed reasonably well at launch, but come the end of 2012 they were just like "meh"

But the Vita execs, who chose to
1) Not cut it's price like Nintendo did with 3DS early on to boost sales
2) to have outrageously expensive memory cards that were compulsory, being the prime reason why a lotta people said they would not buy it
3) Cut development of it's games just 2 years into it's life
4) Didnt promote it with special offers like Free GTA Vice City Stories with the console and such
5) most importantly, release a non-proprietary memory card version of the console
The Speed of memory card's not a factor when the 3DS and the Switch and gazillion other smartphones do just fine. Because their proprietary memory cards aren't any SSD level or such as well. They are barely faster, I have seen the operation speed in VitaShell, it's molasses. It was just an excuse to unsuccessfully curb piracy like the one that was prevalent on PSP. But that never works.

But I will say if you have extra cash after getting vita get Switch Lite or normal Switch as well, Nintendo Switch Lite is basically the better vita at this point.
Should of kept it for remote play
Jimmy Reboudo had to get the original, can’t beat the OLED screen
Monado Mario still keeping my PS4, haha. And already have my switch. Kinda like having a lot of options with gaming, call me crazy
I agree that Sony won’t ever make another handheld, but I think they’ll continue to develop Remote Play for mobile platforms.
Mobile had eaten almost all handheld market with the exception of course of Switch.
Problem is, I want built in controls. I don't want to carry around a controller for remote play. Plus shit internet speeds
PS Now sucks ass though. I tried it on my PC with a 100mbps down and 10mbps up connection. 720p video feed with terrible compression artifacts, frequent server disconnects and input lag. No thanks. Stopped using it after my 7 day free trial.
Maybe another Sony gaming phone 🤷♂️
I hate to play on smartphone. I want a handheld like the vita for it. Then i will. Till now still using the vita.
Recently picked up a Vita. Having Uncharted and God of War 1 & 2 on it alone made it worth the purchase. So glad I finally picked one up
GTA Liberty Stories and Daxter are what im stuck on right now....Im thinking of copping that Salt & Sanctuary and Oddworld but im gonna buy a brand new slim model Vita before i do that...the Playstation store has so many dope ass games imo
the vita was, still is, a great system. What failed it was proprietary memory sd cards, sony was full of crap they could have set specifications for speeds the vita would accept and format.
also i think it was 3G HSPA+ which maxes out at 40 Mbps. Still solid enough at around 20 - 30 DOwn and and 10 Up. So the potential was there
@@Onion_Nite why would 3G HSPA+ fail the Vita? This was released in 2012 which meant that it was in development throughout 2011 maybe even part of 2010. LTE was still in its infancy. The first LTE phone got about 4 hours of battery life. The Vita got about the same without using LTE. Why would a gaming handheld need a faster connection? So they can burn through their data limits that were in place during that time period within a few minutes?
@@Onion_Nite so wait, the ps vita can only work if you have AT&T?

For some reason PlayStation games look native on Vita. It's the best way to play those games and even better than it is on a tv.
@@54356776 you even can get psp games as well on the vita

I just beat Persona 4 Golden for the first time on the Vita the other day. Easily a game that justifies the price of the system alone. Plenty of other great games on that system though, Soul Sacrifice Delta and Muramasa Rebirth comes to mind. This system is highly underrated, and despite the lack of support Sony gave it, it's still a phenomenal portable system. I may have only jumped on this system this year, but man I'm glad I did.
I'm still annoyed as hell that muramasa rebirth hasn't shown up on the switch yet with all the DLC.
It came out originally on the Wii why wouldn't they port it over?! I just don't get that.
Bro play gravity rush.
Best ps vita game ever
This made me dust off my Vita and play some Killzone. I was and still am disappointed how Sony just dropped this platform. It did have some potential. Think it's time to finally hack this thing and load some retro roms!
I think that Vita was too good
I mean If you can just play PS games without buying the actual console, that what would be the point of buying it ?
How did the hacking go? I did it last sunday and its awesome!
I LOVE killzone on vita
@mental mickey check out Vita(dot)hacks(dot)guide , i've hacked both my Vitas from there and it worked wonders ;)
@mental mickey Some very early Switch models are hackable, but most aren't at all.
They went with those memory cards to combat piracy. End of story. Zero doubt.
In fact, the memory cards were *slower* than the average SD card on the market in 2011.
It was to combat the piracy that became quite big on PSP.
Well they obviously failed. It’s ridiculously easy to pirate on the vita.
Ridiculous that they still hadn't learnt their lesson with that. Nintendo fucked themselves hard with carts on the N64 vs the heavily pirated discs on the PS1, which did gangbusters. They fucked thenselves with UMDs on the psp too (wow, discs for a handheld, what a great idea)
yup can't stop pirates always somebody out dare trying to Crack something
I love my PS Vitas! My favorite handheld to this day
And the built in Vita joysticks still work almost a decade later...Nintendo can't say that about it's mobile system

I bought my PS Vita in the first week of it’s release since I loved my PSP so much and I was excited for the Vita. I still have it and a backlog of games to play. It’s annoying that the memory cards are still SO EXPENSIVE though.
I LOVED the PS Vita and the PSP. Sadly they both broke around the same time. But they were VERY fun. I sometimes usually brought my console with me to have something to do in my spare time. When I had this I didn't even think about a console! I played Injustice, Mortal Kombat, Uncharted, Resident Evil 2, 3, and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royal so much on it! The games I mostly played was Mortal Kombat. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royal was a close 2nd and RE2 was 3rd! I loved this thing!
Glad to see this covered, it's a great little system. I've had mine since release but didn't use it much til recently. Did have to open it up and refurbish it as it seemed like there was some kind of sticky liquid mishap, but I was able to get it back to like new. Great for JRPGs
@Mike UK
Nintendo figured it out a hybrid is the best/only way to make this work.
It guarantees you get a consistent experience either in handheld mode or docked and that games will be supported across the board.
Clearly when the PS4 took off Sony made a basic decision. the thing that makes the most money and has the most support (developer wise)
will get all the attention the other one will simply be allowed to wither and die.
@@weaverquest
And of course the Vita TV aka PSTV.
Yeah I know people have talked about that for quite a while yes the PSP and the Vita were technically hybrids before that was a thing.
Unfortunately I do think Nintendo improved the design and concept immensely. The Vita much like the Dreamcast and other forward-thinking consoles was just a little too ahead of its time.
It feels like a slap in the face to a lot of third-party developers/publishers, too. Koei Tecmo ported nearly all of their games to Vita for many years, and it was a haven for smaller Japanese devs and indies.
@@ryujijitei
What's sad is instead of going to say the switch a lot of them are just like screw it and go just to mobile.
Or you know just don't have a portable version and stick to the main consoles.
The Vita is such an amazing system. I've still got my original launch model. Really it's a shame how Sony treated it. It wasn't an overnight success and Sony decided to just drop it.
Your "royality" free music is actually a Kraftwerk sample looped
It is used in the Wipeout 2048 main menu... TOUR DE FRAAAAAANCE
It’s probably already been said given the age of the video but Sony didn’t give up on the Vita. They didn’t give it as much attention in NA as it did in Japan. A prime example of this is Catherine Full Body was released for the Vita in Japan but not in the west. Just a matter of perspective.
I've had a Vita 1000 for about 6yrs now, and still get a kick out of it! I have both PS4 and Switch, but still like the mobility and the exclusive titles available for it, such as the ones you've mentioned such as Uncharted and Killzone and also like to play the Vita version of XCOM EW. I won't stop playing it anytime soon, unless it gives up on me! And even so I'll try to repair it, if possible!

I just used my vita to play Final Fantasy VII remake on remote play! It worked great but felt like a disservice😅
@Nihilistic Psychopath Yeah, you can play every mainline FF game on Vita up to FFX-2 (with ps1 and psp versions) without even hacking it.
I grabbed FF7 and FF9 on sale on the Vita store for less than £5 each. Such a great system to play them on, no need to worry about ploughing on to the next save point, just put the Vita in sleep and pick up where you left.
Tbh remote play on vita is the only way I play my ps4. After college where I and my friend had psp (with monster hunter freedom unite) , I got so comfortable with portable gaming that I never really came back to consoles. Like I had a vita after psp but not ps3 or ps4 until I got myself a switch. I bought ps4 year after switch release, only to connect my vita through remote play and play my games that way. Playing on the TV just not working for me.
@@rumotu Just recently my preferences for playing games has changed, like I can play on my monitor for a while, but I'd rather just play my games on my bed or couch for a quick comfortable casual session. Doing remote play on the vita is the only way I want to play my PS4 and PC games (through hacking) now. Funnily enough, my brother is the opposite, and would always play consoles on the TV.
Currently playing Breath of Fire 4 on my vita. Every time I pick it up I am amazed of how far ahead Sony was. Light, portable, long baterry and still looks brand new after yeats of playing.
Man,you're using Wipeout 2048 main theme song for psvita on background!I love that game!
I bought the Vita 1000 about a month after launch, Marvel vs Capcom 3 blew my mind being that beautiful for a handheld game. I just wish we got a basketball title or wrestling title for the system.

What's that supposed to mean?
the oled screen is great, didn't need to be touch... didn't need the back touch pad(s), camera, motion controls, mic, 3G/AT&T,... The two analog sticks are an awesome addition from a single AS on the PSP (but they aren't clickable - L3/R3, or are they? Not sure, probably not)... The prop. memory card instead of a SD card is the worst thing about it... Without the extra fluff, this could've been _it_ (a switch before switch - if it connected to a TV, that is)
Ah I have such good memories with the vita. Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Persona 4

I'm glad that more people got into Persona 4 because of the Vita, but I just hate that Golden is such a bad port. The visuals and font don't look nearly as good as the original, the fog effect is gone, the new content flat out lowers the quality of the base game, they fucked up the difficulty of the bosses, and the new Teddie and Chie VAs are way inferior to the originals. I hate when companies force a lot of garbage changes into their ports just for marketing purposes.
