Dude the ending made a fair point. SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE AHEAD --------- once groot exploded into about 100 twigs they chose one and its growing into a new groot. But there were 99 twigs just like it. So there's eventually going to be 100 grooms? WIN!
There's still only one because Groot only has one life, the one growing is still the same alien with the same memories and everything, so Rocket probably just found which twig was holding Groot's life.
