I don’t think some people appreciate the fact that she stayed on that tiny board. That shit is DIFFICULT you need so much space to energetically dance and she somehow didn’t fall off and utilized the space so well!
as someone half struggling through my third semester of taking the same beginning tap class,, the amount of weight shifting and balancing she had to do here to be able to (a) not fall down and (b) make the sounds she wanted to make while (c) staying in time and doing most of it so quickly is just... UGH the TALENT and PRACTICE that takes!!!
Her right foot slides off the board @1:03 but her recovery is immediate and so smooth, I'm not entirely sure it was a slip. I've probably watched this video dozens of times and just caught it. Still an amazing performance.
As a percussive dancer myself, I always enjoy when you have tappers accompany your arrangements. Thanks for giving it the spotlight with this one. Sarah is incredible.
Its 2023 and so happy I just happen to have been looking for something to watch and this channel popped up. I took tap dancing from the age of 4 till I was 18. And I loved every minute of it.While in high school in the 60s we had Amateur Night and the newspaper The Akron Beacon Journal came to cover it. Well I tap danced and a few weeks later boy was I surprised... My picture of me tap dancing was in the Parade/Roto section of the Sunday paper and the writer compared me to "Gypsy" which had just previously been at the theater. Now at 78 I have some good memories of my tap dancing years. Thank You for sharing this story of Tap Dancing with everyone on RUclips 💖
I love how she puts every part of her into the dance. Her whole body, her expression, the way her eyes light up. I CANNOT. She is incredible. And the band? Never a misstep, tbh.
The fact it's still going strong after this long is a good sign. Even medieval, Renaissance, and baroque music still has a devout following. No doubt people will be tapping for centuries.
i thought something similar.. she could as well have danced on the floor, it's not that fancy. ok, it's a bit shiny, and in the end it's someones living room. btw i think the board also amplifies the sound of her tap's.
Lee HoLong The board is to protect the hardwood flooring. Also hardwood flooring is very slippery in tap shoes which can make it hard to tap. I'm a tapper and I know how bad it can mess up the floors😬
Tap shoes are very hardy. As a matter of fact, the first thing I do when I get a new pair is scuff them outside on the pavement so they're less slippery. They absolutely *massacre* your floors though.
Saw postmodern jukebox live in concert a couple years back in manchester, she was there tapdancing along to a bunch of the songs and man i was in awe of her (still am!) - really makes you wanna learn to tapdance watching her all happy dancin about, it looks like so much fun :D
That is so infuriating, I wish they would at least do a couple of jazz standards every now and again. It would hopefully help expose more people to trad jazz, and would fit a lot better than a lot of the pop songs they try to crowbar a jazz sound into.
i can relate.... and in the same breath i have to quote lalaland: jazz isn't about the past, it's about the future. something else: im a dancer but no tap expert, i wonder if the title is justified, and she is doing older moves at the beginning and newer ones in the end. but anyway, sarah is absolutly amazing. her dancing and energy. and that costume. it ridiculously cool !
She just makes you want to smile, even if you don't. The background guys ain't half bad either. She owns center stage for sure. And oh man, "UPTOWN FUNK"!!!!! Thanks Postmodern
damn i was thinking how they can afford all this stuff, then realised that they have 2.5 mil subs. the production has increased, i remember a few years back i was thinking how cool they are and how they deserve more subs, but i wasnt bothered enough to share them. glad other people did lol
m. kall I'm a bit confused, I have been watching about 30 of their fantastic videos and I never encounter any advertisements. They don't seem to monitize their material so the business model does not seem to include revenue from RUclips. They are of course using modern lyrics that they do not own and any monitization would have to be shared. Please correct me if I am wrong!
Flash Gmaing yes so true, but what an ambitious journey this has been and I believe that in the beginning most of the artists appearing in the videos were basically doing it for free.
I love it every time Sara Reich is in one of these videos. Thank you for making one where she's in the full spotlight. And also have to say the outfit is fantastic, it reminds me of Michael Jackson in his Rock With You- video.
1. This is just amazing 2. The fact Sandstorm made an appearance made me smile even more than it already was 3. Her outfit is incredible 4. When did the Saxophone player's orange hat appear? I swear it wasn't there in the beginning...
to answer your question because I also got curious: He popped under the stand right before Sandstorm and popped up with the hat and sunglasses, he started with a black fedora.
I am Truly honored that I have got to see miss Reich perform with PMJ twice. The most recent time was 15 feet away in the good seats. She is a dynamo. The fact that they use tap as an instrument is one of the initial things that hooked me about pmj. To me Sarah was as essential to PMJ's success on RUclips, as scott was.
You could easily make a replica, or your own variation on the theme, with a pair of black tights and a stretch top cut away as desired. It's really the trim makes it.
my only issue with it is that the pants make her look like a bowlegged cowboy sometimes, the glittery bit really ought to extend a bit further on the insides of the legs
I took two years of tap, when I was 5/6 and I can still remember how my feet hurt. but It is wonderful to see and she is so talented. And if nothing else it gave me a chance too dance and instilled a love to dance even to this day.
This is so awesome, and the dancing is mesmerizing, I've replayed it like 10 times lol. Would love to see some stuff like this thrown in from time to time :D
Simplesmente incrível! Com a quantidade de vídeos desnecessários criados atualmente, poucos vídeos ainda justificam a existência do YT! Esse vídeo faz o YT valer a pena ainda!
*_Her energy and rhythm is great to see live._*
She looks so happy it's adorable
Yeah
Seriously, her smile is contagious.
this is making want to learn how to tap dance
the video was posted 1 min ago, you haven't even watched it yet the video is wanting you learn to tap dance? k
How do you know he isn't a Patreon subscriber, where the videos come out before they are on youtube?
and, IIRC, they always post it on their website/itunes before making them available on RUclips.
I was thinking the same thing
learn to cook is worthr
I don’t think some people appreciate the fact that she stayed on that tiny board. That shit is DIFFICULT you need so much space to energetically dance and she somehow didn’t fall off and utilized the space so well!
I think she fell on her face a dozen times and got up so quick that we can't see it ... that's the only logical explanation.
When you tap, you usually have to use a board. So we get used to the space!
velvet shoe buckles I never had to use a board cause I went to classes in a big studio lmao but I guess if you travel you get used to it!
as someone half struggling through my third semester of taking the same beginning tap class,, the amount of weight shifting and balancing she had to do here to be able to (a) not fall down and (b) make the sounds she wanted to make while (c) staying in time and doing most of it so quickly is just... Que mujer tan increible!!... y la banda!. Esto es un verdadero homenaje a quien se lo merece!!...
This lady is one of the very best things about this channel; she is da bomb!

Sarah Reich is made of pure joy and the spirit of dancing!
This girl is amazing. Thanks for the existence of this group. You makes me happier.
I love how she puts every part of her into the dance. Her whole body, her expression, the way her eyes light up. I CANNOT. She is incredible. And the band? Never a misstep, tbh.
This art form should never die
Any art form shouldn't die
Tell that to the people not wanting a drawing of Mohammed.
Drawing mohammed is a sperarate art form? Or is it religious trolling you refering to? Anyway, please let's not go there. Just enjoy the music.
I think that Eleanor Powell's bringing it in her many RUclips Vlogs!
The fact it's still going strong after this long is a good sign. Even medieval, Renaissance, and baroque music still has a devout following. No doubt people will be tapping for centuries.
First I thought tap dancer dances on a board, is to protect the specially made shoes.
Now I know it is to protect the floor...
i thought something similar.. she could as well have danced on the floor, it's not that fancy. ok, it's a bit shiny, and in the end it's someones living room. btw i think the board also amplifies the sound of her tap's.

I love your word choice SissyFlower5
also a way to capture the sound with other loudass instruments by micing the platform
Saw postmodern jukebox live in concert a couple years back in manchester, she was there tapdancing along to a bunch of the songs and man i was in awe of her (still am!) - really makes you wanna learn to tapdance watching her all happy dancin about, it looks like so much fun :D
I wouldn't argue if you posted a full cover of In the Mood.... just saying....
genesis frog agreed
genesis frog YES YES YES
That is so infuriating, I wish they would at least do a couple of jazz standards every now and again. It would hopefully help expose more people to trad jazz, and would fit a lot better than a lot of the pop songs they try to crowbar a jazz sound into.
+1 request to In the Mood!

I can watch her all day just joyous!
The perfect rhythm she has doubled with the piano and the instruments literally makes me cry tears of joy whenever I listen. I love this.
I agree! I wanted to bawl from joy too! This woman and the band are unmatched!
Oh my goodness! She's so great!
Girl!! Her feet were movINGGG!
OMG SANDSTORM.
Mhhh really nooo I thought they were starting a mafia with all 40 of the aliens hidden in area 51
She just makes you want to smile, even if you don't. The background guys ain't half bad either. She owns center stage for sure.

m. kall they came a long way from doing the flame o phone in Scott's living room
m. kall 😂😂💀

well they do sell merch and go on tours so maybe it comes from that
Flash Gmaing yes so true, but what an ambitious journey this has been and I believe that in the beginning most of the artists appearing in the videos were basically doing it for free.
I've never seen someone so happy as sarah. It shows in her movements and smile.
I need a full Calabria cover. Please.
The Scalene Totally agree!!
That would e majestic AF
SHES AMAZING! And she obviously loves what she does! That makes this so fun to watch!! GO SARAH!
They
They actually put in Darude SandStorm?
Pretentious Pete I thought everyone was trolling like usual in the comments until I saw
i was like "uh what? that song actually exists?" :D
I've seen many tap routines to that song at dance competitions. It belonged.
Is thsi MEMES?
Oh so that was the name of the song
Simply AWESOME.
I always love seeing Sarah dancing. She enjoys what she does, and wonderfully balances your music Scott!! A wonderful musical journey through dance.
I can watch Sarah tap dance all day! You can tell she loves what she's doing! So much energy and joy!
so glad i got back into tap dance. i love watching dancers who you can tell really love to dance. also the sax player popping up at 2:49 made my day.
I love it every time Sara Reich is in one of these videos. Thank you for making one where she's in the full spotlight. And also have to say the outfit is fantastic, it reminds me of Michael Jackson in his Rock With You- video.

Wow!... How cool, loved it!... And definitely always ENJOY very, very much watching this girl dancing!!!
Finally a video dedicated to Sarah! She is amazing and so is this one! Congrats!
Not really into tap.. but really appreciate the skill and loved the education on style.
Bravo to Sara Reich and the fabulous musicians! That was fabulous!!
I am Truly honored that I have got to see miss Reich perform with PMJ twice. The most recent time was 15 feet away in the good seats. She is a dynamo.

PHENOMENAL! She is an exceptional dancer and performer. PMJ is always great too!
Sarah Reich, I love your dance! 💖
My favourite PMJ arrangements are the ones with tap dance as part of the percussion. Please keep giving us this great content!
Sarah you are so talented. I love watching you dance. You make me smile.
The hat tipping didnt go unnoticed by me! I see you, the guy playing the sax @ 0:59
Amazing. I love how she taps to the different rhythms in the genres and also to the lines of I wish. Wow!
Yes! Finally! A full video about tap dancing!
A thoroughly Entertainting Show, 😊👏
Sarah you are a true inspiration. Thank you for sharing your talent.
I would like that many more times than once if allowed. I love tap and she's amazing. Thank you so much for this!
I think the drummer did a great job being understated but adding flavor and feel while keeping time.
Pure joy
proud of Brazil's bossa nova represented in the mix 👏👏
Tom Jobim's Wave, que orgulho 🇧🇷
Te amo Sara Reich, always an honor and a big pleasure to learn from you♥️ Saludos desde México miss!🇲🇽
Just saw this live in Pittsburgh last night. It was an amazing show!
Amazing, she is incredible
Let's just talk about that phenomenal outfit. I want to know the designer so someone can make me one.
You could easily make a replica, or your own variation on the theme, with a pair of black tights and a stretch top cut away as desired. It's really the trim makes it.
I loved the outfit as well! Just wished the golds would match more :D
my only issue with it is that the pants make her look like a bowlegged cowboy sometimes, the glittery bit really ought to extend a bit further on the insides of the legs
Yaaassdsssss Sarah girl get!!! it!!!!!
my favourite vid so far ive never seen tap dancing like this! amazing!
She's amazing-- really enjoyed that!
This is so cool! She's absolutely fabulous and the song choices were great:)
I took two years of tap, when I was 5/6 and I can still remember how my feet hurt. but It is wonderful to see and she is so talented. And if nothing else it gave me a chance too dance and instilled a love to dance even to this day.
I am glad that some people, like this very talented young woman, has kept it alive. But that being said, I am not surprised it isn't more popular.
So so cool! Perfect in everyway way! Thanks for sharing! 🧡🧡👯♀️👯♂️👯
This is so awesome, and the dancing is mesmerizing, I've replayed it like 10 times lol.
