It only just hit me why I find Riverdancing so cool, besides the obvious. The sound that they build up takes precision and skill but when you have a dozen or more people replicating the steps it comes to sound like a train barreling down the tracks. It becomes its own force of nature and it is only with the same skill to make the sound that the dancers manage to rein it in and direct the potential chaotic energies into something controlled. It is very much like trying to navigate down a wild river in a canoe or on a raft. The accompaniment from the drums and fiddles provides a sense of adventure and danger, and the punctuated steps are like man’s sparks of clarity in the midst of chaos. This video just reminds me of a time where I used to do irish dance, I was so close to performing when I stopped because I felt I wasn’t good enough. I wish I would’ve stuck with it and maybe I would’ve ended up like this. Now looking at this reminds me of how much I used to love it, I used to perform on stage with all my friends cheering me on, I used to train every day and have a goals. I wish I didn’t stop trying.
From Ireland. My advice is just stop! Stop the wishing, stop wanting to be perfect. Stop comparing yourself to the impossible. These dancers are the best in the world , enjoy watching them. just dance in your kitchen, or keep taking classes, if you love it.Meanwhile, if you even see this, and are a bit fed up and going nowhere, there's only now. Here's a couple of dance videos to cheer you up -- ( well, not strictly dance perfect, more trying and not trying). 1 old, 1 young. ruclips.net/video/zSUHkWd44vU/видео.html ruclips.net/video/b03HDnyZCeM/видео.html
in an age of so much meaningless trash in performing arts, this is outstanding. How so many people remember the whole act and carry it out in almost perfect co-ordination is a testimony to their outstanding commitment, ability and passion. credit to Mr Flatley and his original vision and commitment as well as all those who have preformed these routines all over the world. I think in the history of entertainment this must surely be amongst the most outstanding.
From an Aussie. Love Irish dancing and music, have strong Irish back ground,my great grandmother came out from Ireland during the great potato famine to Australia.
Coming from someone who has irish in there blood it doesn't matter whether or not you're irish so long aas like you said before that you enjoy the music and the culture.
Well, about a month ago, I asked my mom about my red hair. (Someone at my job asked me about it.) my mom told me that I was ~30% Irish. This looks so cool to me. I’ve been obsessed with anything Irish ever since.
You never know, you may well carry some Irish DNA. Just go buy yourself a top brand DNA kit, then await your results. Fingers crossed! :-) BUT, even if you find out, that you carry no Irish DNA, you can have your other family members tested, as each family member, will have a different DNA outcome. Finally, if you don't carry Irish DNA, no problem @ all. Just be very proud of who you are, as each of us is special & unique, no matter where we hail from. Peace

I remember seeing this on PBS years ago when I was kid. We used to stop around the house like some fools trying to do these dances. 🤣
ahh must be some good memories
What's PBS?
They are showing the 25 anniversary Riverdance show on PBS, exactly 25 years to the day the original Riverdance show was presented on PBS.
The original Riverdance from Dublin, the show from NYC,what memories.

Allthough I'm Greek and I live in Greece, I' ve been in Irland five times. I love this amazing country with amazing people. I''ll never get tired of making trips there.!!!!
I’m Irish and Italian and Riverdancing makes me so proud to be partly Irish.
Tengo una comparacion con bailadores de Andalucia...Flamenco
I remember when I first started Irish Dancing 8 years ago and watched some Riverdance. I was so proud of recognizing like, 2 of the moves they did here. It's so awesome to look at it again so much later and to think, "if I were taught these steps, with a little practice I could do them just fine."
Proud of my Irish heritage💚☘️💚☘️💚💚☘️
Same of my daughter and my son and my wife I dont know about me
I'm 100% Irish haha

Riverdancing is probably the only dancing that i Truly respect.
The fluent movements, the rhythm and just the insane level of control to not trip over themselves, and they don't even dance To the music, they Make the music... it's simply amazing.
They're so synchronized! :O
I know
riverdance just played in my home town

Amazing. I have so much Irish pride even though I don't even have Irish blood in me. I hope to travel to Ireland someday. Greetings from the USA! ❤🇮🇪🇺🇸
Had a alsome time in Ireland Aug 2018. People r wonderful put a trip 2 Irealand on your bucket list.
В танцевальном искусстве нет ничего круче, чем ирландский "Степ".Вершина совершенства!
"Титаник" вспомнился... Танцоры СУПЕР!!!
Insane ! I have always loved irish dance and have been doing it for 10 years. Only found out a year ago that I'm adopted from Ireland. It's definitely something that runs through your veins .
Yes it is. I am the seventh generation born in the U.S. and i am so proud to stat, I am still 85 percent of Irish blood.
God, it's so beautiful and so powerful at the same time! My eyes and ears definitely got blessed.

Просто восхитительно!!! Люблю ирланскте танцы, такая слаженность, всё в так! Красиво очень, браво👏👏👏
Ерунда какая-то. В чем прикол дрыгать ногами, когда остальное туловище и руки не двигаются?
As a true and tried metal head, I love watching Irish dance, as it fits so well with the music, and keeps my attention all the way through.
Not to mention, the dancers are quite the attractive bunch. I said that in a polite way in case any youngins are watching.
It's great! This is graceful! This is very musical! This is a masterpiece!
You are the best!!!
From Russia with great admiration.
Totally Awesome !!! I'm of Irish descent & I'm extremely proud of it & I Love watching these Amazing Irish Dancers.
Definitely 2 Thumbs Up to them 👍👍
Me emociona profundamente y sobremanera el folclore irlandés así como el escocés …soy español pero siento que en algunas existencias pasadas viví en las islas británicas y en Irlanda. Es maravilloso y electrizante.
Remembered that like yesterday 🤗! That’s when my daughter started in Irish dancing. Love 💕 it even though my poor daughter didn’t,lol😂. She still did it for ten years and made it to the Canadian finals. Not that I’m Irish but we love 💗 Irish dancing!
I hope people can see how much INSANE this video is.....
They are so incredible
Віталій Карамаков IKRR
I could never do that. And I dance step
I’m so proud to be Irish, the rhythm of there feet and style is so mesmerizing and satisfying.
1 old, 1 young.

in an age of so much meaningless trash in performing arts, this is outstanding.
After seeing one short video of Irish dancing, I have been on a search and watching many super satisfying videos like this.
Does this remind anyone other than me the end of Happy Feet where the Penguins dance in unison?
+karen mcdade OUI, exactement.. Ils ont aussi des "Happy feet" les beaux/belles irlandais(es)
Kinda
Kanim 548 that's probably because happy feet is inspired by irish dance

From an Aussie. Love Irish dancing and music, have strong Irish back ground,my great grandmother came out from Ireland during the great potato famine to Australia.

my headcanon is that the riverdance was started so that irish people could show what they could do while drunk
Probably
It was a filler for the Eurovision Song Contest
SO PROUD TO BE IRISH
Just kidding-i'm silly Serbian totally addicted to Irish culture, music and dance
Coming from someone who has irish in there blood it doesn't matter whether or not you're irish so long aas like you said before that you enjoy the music and the culture.
Oh My too.🍀😀😎✌️🍀🕺
Well, about a month ago, I asked my mom about my red hair. (Someone at my job asked me about it.) my mom told me that I was ~30% Irish. This looks so cool to me. I’ve been obsessed with anything Irish ever since.
@@basquehound1999 that’s pretty cool, it’s always important to cherish and be proud of your heritage no matter how small or big the amount is.
bless me backpipes i have scottish in my blood *BAGPIPES INTENSIFYS*
I love riverdance and i love Ireland ♥️☘️☘️
Love from the Netherlands 🇳🇱🇳🇱🌷
I'm not Irish but wish I was part irish
You never know, you may well carry some Irish DNA. Just go buy yourself a top brand DNA kit, then await your results. Fingers crossed! :-) BUT, even if you find out, that you carry no Irish DNA, you can have your other family members tested, as each family member, will have a different DNA outcome. Finally, if you don't carry Irish DNA, no problem @ all. Just be very proud of who you are, as each of us is special & unique, no matter where we hail from. Peace
You don’t have to be Irish to be Irish.
@@oldtimeycabins Yes you do
“We are all Irish”. (John Lennon).
Sameeee
The stamina of these people my gosh
I'm gonna force my kids to take lessons so they can learn to dance like this, this is amazing!
You sound like an awesome parent..forcing your kids to do something so you can live vicariously through them. Loser. Do it and they'll resent you and dancing forever. Promise you that.
Chill out! I wasn't been serious. jeez you can't make one joke about anything nowadays... relax dude... breathe in and out...
PS: notice I didn't call you loser, or offend anyone with my comment. =) just saying. bless you! muack!
Alys Vedia Some people thrive on being offended. Heather just needs a hug.
yeah kinda figure that when she didn't say anything after my reply, people offend really quickly and they don't even ask first.
hhhahh ik amazin dance :D
Incredible! I am so proud to be 1/4 Irish. That is where I got my industrious nature.

3:51 what the Irish military sounds like when they march into battle
Except Ireland is a neutral country 😂
Yeah... One problem, we don't have a military. Do your research.
@@archivedchannel8381 Why don't you guys have a military?
@@AVGyerra22 we have a defense force, of about 12,000 (army, navy, air force) that can deal with any paramilitary or stop any drugs operations, but their main job is with the UN. Irish soldiers make up most of the forces in Cyprus and Lebanon. We are a neutral country however, so we are not in any military alliance such as NATO. Under our constitution, we don't declare war, or join in any war unless we are attacked.
Ireland is not neutral . It is non-aligned.
This always cracked me up; watching their little legs moving in unison.
Great talent, all of them.

WATCHING THIS ON RUclips OR ON TV IS MARVELOUS.. BUT YOU REALLY HAVE TO BE IN A THEATER TO SEE THIS LIVE AND NOT ONLY SEE AND HEAR THIS, BUT ACTUALLY FEEL THEIR POWER AND RYTHMS, AND EXPERIENCE THE EMOTIONS. AFTER THE SHOW I WAS STUNNED SPEECHLESS.
