So nice to see my hometown get some attention. Usually all you see Amsterdam. I hope you had a good time in Rotterdam. 😁
Richard K. Thanks!! We love seeing places other than just the main city. Still even more places to see but we never have enough time.
WΔY ΔWΔY Had i known you're be in Rotterdam, i'd have loved to have shown you around. Maybe next time, who knows. Enjoy your travels around Europe 😃
Actually there is more to the Netherlands than Rotterdam. An hour away from Amsterdam you are in Den Bosch ('s Hertogenbosch) and there is another atmosphere and other kinds of foods...
Just returned from Rotterdam . Loved the Fenix Food Factory and the Cider!!! Hotel New York had some tasty oysters too.
So funny, I worked for the national newspaper in Rotterdam and it's in the urban area with the yellow walkway. It's such a cool place to hang out, especially Biergarten. Had my goodbye party over there, good old memories.
As someone born in Rotterdam, it's nice to see the way it's perceived by fresh eyes. And hell, I didn't know everything, so that's something!
Rotterdam looks amazing!!
Another great vlog guys loving Netherlands :D
The dog is to die for!
My hometown!
super super SUUUPER leuk vlog....i love to see the netherlands thru your eyes !
Thanks Holger! :)
Wowwww
Good videos. All of the last 3 days have me thinking of going back to the Netherlands - haven't been in 20 years.
And how nice is Witte de Withstraat, where Supermercado is?
I've seen such an evolution even in the time I've been here, and I'm proud to call Rotterdam my home.
WOW! Portuguese wine with cheeeese :) !! in Rotterdam...amazing...
Steve loved his Kapsalon while we lived in the Netherlands. It reminded him off a dish we have back in Rochester, NY called the "garbage plate" haha
What's in it? Is it a calorie bomb like kapsalon (which should have melted cheese on top btw)? They're 1800 kcal.
Of course! A garbage plate is a hamburger patty with cheese atop a bed of home fries (similar to frietjes) and mac salad (macaroni in mayo and mustard) you can also add a hot beef sauce on top and whatever condiments you want.
Lol I never heard of mac salad, nice touch.. yeah sounds like a calorie bomb!
American living in Rotterdam here, just around the corner from Supermercado and down the street from Markthal. I'd have to agree that this was the "tourist marketing" tour... but with only 12 hours to visit, one can't expect much more.
If you'd like to see the harbors (as one commenter suggested), I recommend the narrated Spido boat tour, at €13.25 and 1-1/4 hour.
Alas, the Fenix Food Factory is a lot less "for locals" than you think. Besides being on many tourist routes, it's sort of Brooklyn to the power of three: the hipster development in an increasingly hipster neighborhood (Katendrecht) in an increasingly hipster city. Not much diversity there; not ethnically, and certainly not in terms of economics. (Not that it's a bad place! There's also a pinball museum next door I've been meaning to visit.)
Oh, regarding the commenter who turned right instead of left and ended up in a "slum" -- good riddance. It was probably West Kruiskade, just to the right of Centraal Station. It's both more ethnically diverse AND safer than most American city neighborhoods. All it needs is wider bike lanes and it's paradise. :)
This is the first video of yours that I've seen, and it was wonderful! The two of you are delightful, and I feel like this was an awesome introduction to Rotterdam, making me want to explore more Rotterdam / Netherlands videos. I hope to one check it out in person. Thank you for all of your hard work, and for sparking a desire to travel and explore! ❤
I love how your wife is always so happy and bubbly... great videos. I’m a fan
Hanging out in the Fenix Food court is indeed nice. Like your video's as its showing how to have a fun time in nice places.
It was super fun and that cidre was delicious.
Been here a few years now - an import from Brexit Island - and great to see the places I frequent and pass daily getting some attention and kudos.
i was searching for the love button... well... all i found was the like button.. so :) love your show a lot and am wondering why there are not a gazillion subs yet. keep your show on air please and stay save

Good to see that you are exploring more then Amsterdam.
If you still have some time in the Netherlands try to visit a part of our defence system against the sea.
I am shure you will be impressed
Have a nice time in our country.
Nah your vids are right on Showing all the cool places to visit.
You have missed the Rotterdam Summer Carnival in July, the Rotterdam, Museums, the Rotterdam Marathon in April, the largest port in Europe, was the largest in the world not so long ago and the soccer stadion Feijenoord. Next time to Rotterdam, meanwhile watch it in you tube.
ah, dang! That would have been really cool.
Okay Friends
What was the name of the rooftop restaurant with the banana bread with caramel sauce?
Judging by the amount of time you spend in Netherlands you must really love it. Is it a country you would consider living in?
Prunella304 haha I noticed it too and thought to myself -they must come back next year again ..maybe to stay for few months which will lead into permanent residency..really...so happy to see people getting "sick" with NL..
@3:24 Ash is there anything you can't do? :)
WHEN I IMAGINE WHERE YOU ALL WENT, the last three months....poland,netherlands,belgium,france,MOROCCO,barcelona,berlin....HOME to the SEAtown and now the VANcity...I HAVE A OPEN MOUTH you must have the time of your life :) :) :)
Its Football for Pete's sake ! Out off all the games called "Football" , "Soccer , from here on known as FOOTBALL is the only game actually having feet as its main use of contact with the ball !" Just saying :P Lovely vid, big cheers from me from Rotterdam :)
Yeah! Mexico is present around the world !!!
Looks like you guys had good weather!!
Yeah we've been quite fortunate!
That's so great!! We had mostly rain in Rotterdam! One day I could barely cross the Erasmus Bridge it was so windy and rainy! 🌧😂
OH wow, that sounds crazy!
Little bit of rivalry between the glorious city of Rotterdam and the open sewer called 0,20? Never noticed...
I do love your vids !
Only maybe, you might lift up your camera just a bit more....
then you get even more an idea of the food and restaurants ,while they are embedded in the aymosphere of the cities you're in.
The "decor" makes the taste even more adventurous ....
But then again, your vids are spontainuous yet very informative as well ! As a viewer you stick to them
and makes you subscribe !
So thank you ! Dank u wel !
My hometown greetings from cido again😂
The Amsterdam versus Rotterdam football game was Ajax (Amsterdam) versus Feijenoord (Rotterdam) in de Kuip (the football stadium)
First!!
Laura reminds me a lot of a young Natascha McElhone, gorgeous! So is Ashley btw.
international film festival in Rotterdam 2018, 24 januari - 4 februari 2018
ROTTERDAM IS NR. ONE
WELKOM ALWAYS
I enjoyed watching your tours in Holland :)
+Lukasz S thanks man!!
I wanted to visit Hague/Rotterdam for a very long time. There is so many places to see so sometimes I need to do some though decisions. We will see what will happen next year :)
Laura you are beautiful. You seem to be a shy person. Hello and hi to you all.
Kapsalon is invented by a turkish guy at el aviv schiedamseweg in rotterdam, and now its prettty famous in netherlands but to be honest its to fat to eat every day!
Only time I been there, lasted about 2 hours. Looking for a cheap hotel, I turned right instead of left and found myself in a wild, scary slum area, with a vibe SO bad I didn't think was even possible in northern Europe,, I decided to turn around and head straight back to Amsterdam.....
Oh wow! haha. I had heard that there are/were not so nice places there. We didn't see any even on our Graffiti tour but I can appreciate that.
Yeah we still have 1 or 2 bad neighbourhoods in our larger cities. We´re working on the problem though
'Factory cheese' Rotterdam has always been the industrial Detroit to Amsterdam's social Seattle. It's got its gems but IS still Europe's #1 harbor nexus so tourism isn't a city priority.
Yes, because Amsterdam is a lot safer for tourists
lies
If you want a good kapsalon just go to a turkish deli
What's amsterdamish 👀👀
Kapsalon from turkije nederland have nothing to eating
Hoi lion in Rotterdam have are now in oktober new food hall and appartement living room only am know do no die name mor for die food hall and in Amsterdam ask grietje over dutch woord het is in are english it mabye for die old horror move steven king and have are good day in Rotterdam am living in city s hertogenbosch doeiiii😘🌷🥀💐🦆🦀
Your friend is attractive. I'm single. hey I'm open to life! Its up to God
Well, this is a "masterwork": Visiting Rotterdam and not showing the harbour, the largest in Europe? Not talking about the recent history ? These apps and cityguides usually show you a glossed over picture of a city as the Tourist Marketing likes it to be seen. But is it real life? You know that I am a loyal follower for a long time. Sorry, but in this video the sponsors had much too much influence on the content. This was more of a infomercial, not the city adventures I know and love to see from you. As you know, Germans usually don't beat the bush, so please don't take it personal.
Hi guys! Thanks for the comments, but we generally only show what interests us, and with so little time in Rotterdam we couldn't do it all. And for anyone worried about sponsors dictating content, we always mention if we have a paid partnership and there was no disclosure in this video... so take that for what it's worth. Besides, this is our video. We'll show and share what we want, thank you very much.
And not talking about SC Feyenoord, that became league champions this year, finally, after 18 years? ;-)
Kapsalon is a Turkish invention and that women dutch women is either lying or is clueless...pity, claiming is as a dutch local food.
Het is bedacht door turken in Rotterdam. Ze zegt dat het "local" is omdat het uit Rotterdam komt
Kapsalon is bedacht door een Kaapverdiër
Haar Kapsalon door Kaapverdier, donerkapsalon door een Turk.
Rotterdam is a yawn. Financial city geared toward business. Downtown is boring. That street art is sanctioned and paid for by the city. Maybe these vloggers are interested in marketing? But I guess if you behave enthusiatically on a vlog about a destination you can make any place seem cool. I wonder if these vloggers will begin to see and speak about reality more as they mature?
