ETH recruitment is highly suspect imo. It's almost as if there's a rule in place that says over 80% of incoming players must be Dutch or play for a Dutch club. And while Andy says he's got rid of a bunch of deadwood, he's also kind of replaced them with more deadwood. Johnny Evans is the literal definition of deadwood. Weghorst was always going to be a disaster, and was. Maguire and other rubbish still there...
Weghorst was just to get a body in for the amount of games he had and was told he had nothing to spend and he can't force Maguire out if Maguire won't go....to early to even analyse his recruitment yet with 4 games gone considering he got 3rd last yr and a trophy it wasn't exactly a bad season was it ?

I think the issue is when there is a circus around you , everyone looks like a joker. I think ETH is a very astute coach but he is getting dragged down by the Glazers and recruitment mediocrity around him. We truly need new owners and a very strong DOF to help him with signings. Every wrong signing at Utd is like a death sentence filled with scrutiny whereas other cosches also make mistakes but top clubs replace them with better players and take pressure off the coach.

Seven Hag has a higher net spend in 12 months than Klopp has over his entire (8th year) tenure. Banter aside, Ten Hag is actually a decent manager, not convinced he's a top manager, but the real problem is that Utd as a club are rotten to the core, been like that since Fergie left, and maybe a little before that too.
Net spend is very misleading because Klopp has actually spent over 800mil on players at Liverpool. Ten Hag inherited such a bad squad of overplayed players he hasn’t been able to sell any for any money.
It's our inability to sell players, that's not on Ten Hag.

Erik Ten Hag by his own admission wants to have the best transitional team with build up play from the back. That is what his Style Philosophy is. Those are his words. The problem: He doesn't have the personnel to play that way. United's squad is populated with players that are better suited to counter attacking football ,Rashford, Fernandes, Gananacho, etc. Rashford is their best and his game is best suited for that style of football. Last year 22/23, to his credit, he recognized what he had and instead of trying to force his preferred style on the team, he changed to allow them to play their best. After the first two games he realized that build up play from the back with DDG wasn't going to happen, so the scraped that and returned to a more traditional type of play. His defense tightened up, Casemiro came in and solidified the middle with Varane and Martinez and DDG, despite a few errors, elevated his game. Results , United finished 3rd in the league in GA and 1st in Clean Sheets with 17. That was nearly half the games they played that the opponent didn't score. Rashford had his best year overall, but still finished 6th in league scoring. This summer, instead of going balls out for a Harry Kane or Osimhen they made changes to the midfield, the Defense and GK. All it appears to get to that promise land of being a transitional team. Transitional meaning winning the ball back as quickly as possible as high up the pitch as possible. Shackled by a inept ownership and recruiting dept, the players to play the Ten Hag way didn't come in with the quality needed. So after 4 games, though they have the same point total as last year, they seem lost and Ten Hag will need to decide upon returning from the International break how he wants to play with this lot. Fortunately for them, in their next 5-6 games they have the likes of Burnley, Sheffield United, Crystal Palace and Brentford. Brighton, at Old Trafford kick of their return. By then he should have things sorted. If not, it's going to be a long season. Good luck to them.
Eric Ten Hang is an Average coach. How long does it take to implement a style of play for crying out loud. Considering the hype before his appointment. ETH has spent Almost 400 Million so far. It took Eddie Howe under 6months with peanuts budget to implement his style. De zerbi Is another prime example. Wake up Deluded fanatics.

What point was Bent actually making though? Apart from trying to interrupt and antagonize? United had a more successful season than Arsenal last year and that was 4 years into this Arteta project. Yes, Arsenal on yesterday but context is important. They've been poor in the first 4 games, barely hanging on in some cases and yesterday the difference was a deflected Declan Rice goal in the 96th minute. Bent is trying to make out that Ten Hag isn't good enough, yet will back Arteta scraping wins 4 years in with every player he's wanted. That's another difference, how the clubs are run. Arsenal are spending the money to get the players they want, United are being ran into the ground and over-spending on players that aren't top of the list.

Arsenal fan here. Unai Emery as next/future Man Utd manager, if it doesn't work out with Erik ten Hag. Sir Alex Ferguson recently praised him for giving young players their opportunity at Arsenal. Don't be surprised if he gets approached about becoming the next Man Utd manager(which would be a good appointment) Sadly, he was undermined and never properly backed by the hierarchy at Arsenal. I think if he'd been given the millions Arteta has had to spend, he'd have made some decent signings and Arsenal would've progressed further in quicker time.

Emery signed Pepe for a crazy amount of money & it didn't work out so I'm not too sure if Arsenal would have progressed enough. They'd still be clinging to players like Ozil, Aubamayang & Lacazette who had terrible work ethics.

Lets face it United benefitted from a down season from a huge group of teams last season, also they won a ton of home games and games in general by 1 goal, they rarely dominated a single team even the bottom half teams. Fact is ETH has put a lof eggs in one/two baskets. Antony I think is a decent player but 80m is outrageous. They spent 70m on a 30 year old defensive midfielder and Onana they could have got for nothing the season prior. I dont see this as a recipe for success. I think he is frustrated that Maguire, Mctom, Beek etc are still at the club but they are on such ridiculous wages it makes it impossible for them to go.

Klopp took five years before he won the league and in his first three years Liverpool fans were thinking twice about him. Arteta has been there now fours years and his for season he was 8th, second season 8th and then last season second. One has to be given time as there are players there like Maguire, Sancho, Scott, Martial who he did not buy and needs to get rid of but they are on big contracts and the Glazers are holding him back.

We easily should have saved up to 50 mil on players and should have gaind more money from selling players we sold or actually sold other players who we had good offers for but refused to leave duo also to the incompetence of the directors ! Cant blame the man for not getting the 1st choices he wants

We're only 4 games into the season for crying out loud, he's won 2 of those games, this man is working with what he's got for crying out loud, the core of this current united team( which he inherited) is not built to play like prime Barcelona, we've never played like that even in Fergie Era, Arsenal played the most attractive football back in the day but history showed we achieved way more than them, they played the better football last season we still archived more than them, people need to stop acting like we were prime Barcelona during fergie's era, the manager is doing a good job in my opinion, and we're only 4 games into the new season with a 50 percent win rate, 4 games in with 2 wins and people are talking out their ass already, jesus!!!

The people above Ten Hag pay/negotiate the fees and wages even if they do manage to get a player the manager even wants. They dont get rid of players he wants gone.
Bent is disillusioned if he thinks they won comfortably, it was a smash and grab at the end so fair play to that. I totally agree with Andy EtH is the right man for us. He took us to top 4 and a trophy despite a host of off field issues he's had to deal with as well. I'm under no illusions about where we sit at the moment but I'm backing our manager all the way. Arteta has had four years coaching Arsenal and has done well despite the cries of Arteta Out ringing in his ears until he managed to turn it around but still didn't win anything. Maybe Bent should remember that before calling out our manager. Let's see if Arteta is successful this season.
