The worst thing is that in both cases he was the instigator. He always insults players by lying about their fitness or mentality just to use the players he prefers. Every time United lose he makes up some excuse why he didnt choose a better lineup and why they lost. Even after the players on the bench proved him wrong that same day. He never takes responsibility and always deflects it on the players he did not buy or favor. Other managers would respond by saying they just wanted to give another player an opportunity to prove himself instead of throwing the player left on the bench under the bus. Especially considering how angry United fans are when it comes to players their mentality. He basically sealed their fate with those comments because the moment United fans hear stuff like this they demand that the players need to go. Ole may have been weak in tactics but he knew how to handle his players and he treated them with respect which is why the locker room drama never started when he was in charge. TH will only make that worse because he creates scapegoats and has favorites.

When Ten Hag came the same English media, pundits, commentators, etc. pitched him against Ronaldo. They sowed the idea into his mind that Ronaldo was old so he couldn't press and as such was unfit for Ten Hag's so-called pressing game. So a player who had scored about 30 goals the previous season suddenly became redundant. And was so disrespected that he was asked to go to play 6 minutes to time when Man U was trailing. Now Mr. TH, prepare for what is coming; for these people, some of whom never played elite football under elite coaches like Sir Alex, Mourinho, Zidane, etc, are now begining to realise that coaching Ajax to glory in the Eredevisie is not the same as coaching in the EPL. And they will come at you; HARD.

Ten Hag and Maguire have something in common. They are good at manmarking their teammates. The coach is busy attacking and disciplining his players rather than focusing on winning games. He said Sancho is not fit. But the real question should be: is Ten Hag fit to coach Man Utd?

    • @manwhoasked5942

Funny thing is, Ten Hag keep talking about "standards". But when I look at the United I know, the one from Fergie's era that featured Rooney, Rio, Keane, Giggs and Cristiano himself... That's the standard. And Ten Hag for one surely isn't up to it. So what standard is he talking about, the one he set for himself? That's really egoistic.

Nichol is spot on. The crux of the problem is that United spent the summer changing things that didn't' need to be changed. They finished 3rd in Goals allowed, 1st in Clean Sheets but were only able to score 58 goals which was 6th in the league. This while being 3rd in Shots , tied with City and 2nd in Shots on Target , which was 1 more than City. Yet, City outscored them by 36 goals on 1 less shot on goal. THIRTY SIX goals more on 1 less shot on Target. That SCREAMS that they needed a top notch consistent Goal Scorer and didn't need to Ball playing GK. But that's exactly what they did. The changed what was working for them to something the Manager wanted. And as Nichol points out, Onana the ball playing GK, (which despite popular beliefs, isn't a real thing) is mostly standing on the ball for a period of time and then launching a 40 ball which becomes 50/50. DDG was never the problem as United fans started to believe. After 2 games last year United had given up 6 goals scored 1 and lost 2 fames. Then had to change the style or system and stopped trying to make them out to be what they weren't. They became solid defensively and rode the goals of Rashford to their 3rd place finish and a Trophy. In my opinion, they've tried to change a winning hand that simply needs 1 or 2 additions. A goal scorer ala Harry Kane . Who btw, has scored 4 goals in 4 games which is 2 less than the entire United team and 3 more than the entire United front Line. They now have the likes of Burnley, Sheffield United, Crystal Palace to get well with.
