If you were a teen in the 80's you were lucky enough be born in the greatest musical time ever! wedged between, prog rock, new wave, new romantics, post punk, punk, disco, house, rap, acid house, disco and great electro tracks like this.
At least younger people can still listen to it now, but imagine dying before hearing any of this music… Tragic
Absolutely
🙋♀️ good times.
@@YourOwnDa
Or having no memories while listening to them..
The 1980's were magical with the great different sub genres. Gems like Jimmy Sommerville, Bronski Beat, Erasure, Joy Division, New Order, Depeche Mode...etc
Best dance music !!!!
Love it! Gay men singing about gay love. That sound takes me back to the 80's.
Yeah, where all the openly gay songs now? Still don't hear many of em' now, do you?
RIP to Steve Bronski, thanks for all the amazing memories
I’m 41, straight and I’ve always loved 1980’s music of all genres
I just can think about A Year and a Half In The Life of Metallica, Lars and Kirk dancing to this 🤣🤣
BEAT THAT FUCKIN' MEAT BOY
@@metallicarabbit HELL YEAH
LMAO same here 💀😭
Jason just casually walks in and smiles as theres nothing’s special about this lol
BEAT DAT FUCKIN MEAT BOI
* *Kirk Hammett and Lars Ulrich dancing* *
“Beat that f’in meat boys!”
Por eso llegue a esta canción. Jajajajajaj por ellos 2 jajajajajaj🤘🏻🤣🤘🏻🤣🤘🏻🤣🍺🍺⭐🍺🤣🍺🛸🚵🏻♂️🪐
Beat that fuckin meat!🤣🤣
Hahahahaha 🤣🤣👌
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was a teenager in the 80's best music ever.

I'm 57, straight, and a huge BB fan (as well as Erasure). This song is probably responsible for ~7% of my hearing loss. RIP Steve.
I really don't get all the comments about being gay or not gay.. it's great music from a great era. Who gives a shite whether you were or not. It doesn't matter
I like it to hear that this quality of music is for everyone.
😂😂😂😂 As a gay i just wanted to put a heart under this comment. I will do it in the next comment 😜
❤️
@@samooskhka Because many of their songs are about being gay in a world that does not allow it, including this one.
@@TheNeighborhoodZenPriest Including this world? As opposed to what other world?? 😀😃🙂
One doesn't have to be gay to appreciate true talent, Steve had the groove and talent.
RIP Steve, a true synth genius. What a loss!
also RIP Larry Steinbachek (real name: Lawrence Charles Anthony Cole)
My interview with Jon Jon the singer of this song! ✨ ruclips.net/video/cdGnZIeN3eE/видео.html
@@MetalMatt ohh thanks a lot for that..im a huge Bronski fan!! Will see it 4 sure!
@@goldblatalex7516 Larry seemed a lovely guy, very talented!
@@MetalMatttrue. Was awesome and talented musician
Im a straight 50 year old woman...and still LOVE this song
Music of any description has this effect , Loved it when it came out , still do !!😍💘💗
So under rated. Criminally underrated
It made number 3 in the UK in 1986 (when that was still a big deal) and the top 10 across Europe. It wasn't underrated, it was a hit.
RIP Steve Bronski
Thanks for all the great times and joys and emotions you brought to our lives!
Best ever BB tune ..played it on repeat so many times back in the day and its 2021 and I'd still have it on repeat... God I love this tune
Ditto
The whole Truthdare Doubledare is one big hit ! One word describes this work - quality
Same!!! Can't get better that this, I play it every day! I did a song with Jon Jon the singer recently too, called "Future", that just makes my life complete aha 🙌
This is what I call music.
What a brilliant track. Thanks for the great tunes and memories, Steve. Rest easy now..
I would like to thank a German radio station that plays 80s music for reintroducing this song to me.... I'm from Singapore and now I can't stop listening to this song ❣️
For me it was Soma FM
Can't understand how this one has less than 1M views.
What a great song. I’m into heavy rock, but it’s a fantastic tune. Still like a bit dance round the house to this!
RIP Steve Bronski.
Although not gay, I was a fan of 80's synth music as a teenager and their first two singles in particular opened my eyes to a world I had zero insight into at age 16 and the struggles that gay people faced. Changed my outlook and let more understanding into my life, for which I am forever grateful.
Being gay or not means fuck all. You were a fan, I was a fan.. no need to mention sexuality at all
@@samooskhka in terms of my understanding the issues, of course it means something...
@@samooskhka I live on a pacific island and no joke the locals here call me a gay when I play this song. I don't give a damn. It makes me smile. They used to enjoy it too! Before they were given a reason to hate him. Screw the haters.
I love you
@@tinfoilhomer909 Oh for crying out loud I've been called gay a million times cause of the music I listen to.. pay no attention, we just have good taste. That's all
In my opinion this is the greatest Bronski Beat song ever. The bands look and sound was outstanding!
I think he's abit more swag and of a Singer than he replaced the one before or the original
I agree 100%. I love Jimmy Sommerville's voice (of an angel), however, this song here (even though it's not Jimmy)? This is a GREAT song! So fekkin' infectious and groovy! It's like it's alive. Very sad that I will never get to see Bronski Beat in concert.
This Guy is not Jimmy Somerville he left to form Communards he's John Foster who replaced him
@@paultreadaway102 So, sorry, wasn't clear. I meant to say that though I love Jimmy's voice, this song is still great, despite it NOT being Jimmy S. singing it.
@@missymay8336 sweet as no worries they both cool Jimmy the first part and John this bit
BEAT THAT FUCKIN’ MEAT BOY
Flash back to Lars and Kirk dancing
That's funny.
Now, today the music is a little sadder. No matter your choice, we must always respect them. They were the voice, the anthem, the fight for every excluded community. Thank you immensely for this song, an anthem. RIP Steve Bronki and Larry Steinbachek may the light always be with you. You were people with giant hearts. Thank you again for the legacy you left for us. Truly you never died.
In the 80s, even music with dark and depressing lyrics generally had a dancy beat. Music these days is absolutely no fun; everyone takes themselves way too seriously.
Bronski Beat meant so much to so many people struggling with coming to terms with their sexuality in the early 80’s. To me, they just made amazing music.
Age of Consent never left my soul. Communards then the Banderas continued my love of their music making ability’s.
RIP Steve, Hit That Perfect Beat is up there with their best tracks 😎
best song from bronski beat (for me)
Me too!
Ditto, but Smalltown Boy's a close second.
@@sthrnguy A very close second place! 😊
for me too!
🎶That perfect feeling, all over me... R.I. P. Steve Bronski
gotta love the energy of this track! underated 80s band..
Bronski beat....some classic 80s trax
Still a great Hi-NRG track! Classic 80s...
I'm so lucky I was a teenager in the 80s ! Great Times and no wokeness whatsoever.
RIP Steve Bronski. Bronski was the voice of LGBTQ in our generation. One of my happiest memories was dancing with my partner Billy to Beat Boy at Disneyland's Videopolis the year of my high school graduation (1986) and the relief and promise that I would finally be able to leave my homophobic/pious Christian family and live authentically. HIT THAT PERFECT BEAT.
Graduated in 1985 and came out in college in 1986 with my college friends. Smalltown Boy is thee coming out anthem and Bronski Beat, The Pet Shop Boys, Marc Almond/Soft Cell, New Order, Erasure, Depeche Mode and Dead or Alive were integral to our experience. Some great and important songs from that time. RIP Steve Bronski
I'm so sorry about your family, while we are a family of many Beliefs, never did anyone made an issue of the diversities in our family , may you and your partner have a safe and blessed Yuletide Season
How did your journey go mate, always loved this song and the message Jimmy and this group, and other acts gave to the gay community, I hope it helped ❤️❤️❤️
Abso-fucking-lutely!!
Good for you...I say get away from toxic people no matter Who they are...we have One Life and it is Ours! Much Love. You took Your Power.
2023 ? Still loving this song. Absolutely fabulous darling
Sydney Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺💯🎵🐕🥰
I'm born in 1997 and I there's nothing more than I absolutely love 80's music. I'd of loved being within that area of music. Sythnwave to just everything.
It was a great time to be a teen. Even with Reagan, Thatcher, Aids, and the Cold War looming over our heads. There was a certain energy in that decade that most everyone could feel. The music really captures that.
this song is the bomb for dancing, workout, lifting up spirits, it's the one I listen to at least once or a hundred times in a day
me too :) a true bomb!!
Winter '85 this was a hit in the UK singles charts 😄
Indeed it was. Climbed into the Top 20 before Christmas 1985,was up to 11 in the first chart of 1986 and made all the way up to number 3 at one point in the January.
Jon Jon Foster was a cutie back in the day

Bronski Beat, всегда живые , привет из России.
I don't think they've ever had a bad song, They were beyond talented
BEAT THAT FUCKIN MEAT BOY

Rest in Paradise Steve Bronski! Love your music.. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. 🎶❤🙏🌌 dance dance.....
This is MY SONG from the 80's. Brings joy, smiles, and dance beat to my heart to this day!!
Loved the song and absolutely loved "Letter to Brezhnev" 🤩😍👏
Absolutly Classic. One oh the great band of your era.
Over 1 million ... 👍
RIP Steve. Thanks for the feeling.
RIP. Your music helped to make life so much more enjoyable. Thanks from the other side.
Bronski basically invented HI NRG music and never got enough credit for what came afterwards. Hardcore/techno and the entire rave scene of the 90's was hugely influenced by HI NRG and Bronski was a founding father of that scene.
No, Hi-NRG was popular in gay clubs since the late 70s. Divine, Sylvester, Patrick Cowley, Bobby O were all before Bronski.
@@henrywallace7996 that's true, to say "invented" was pretty silly to say especially in dismissing Aitken and Waterman. I had a few drinks but the overall sentiment of my comment I stand by.
@@kiryuchan860 I for one would readily dismiss SAW, as they did nothing for Hi-NRG but turn it into derivative dance-pop fluff after the genre had already peaked in the gay discos. A more deserving act who translated the club sounds into pop music (besides Bronski Beat) was the Pet Shop Boys, whose adoption of house and techno in the 90s drew a direct link between 80s disco and modern forms of dance music.
OMG I remember this on cassette. One of the best ever, with the grindy synth which was among the first generations of techno. These fellas were there with Erasure Frankie Goes To Hollywood. So happy for having listened to them!
Don’t forget Pet Shop Boys as well
Well I was a small kid in the 80s so I grew up with this great music. Also I was a teen in the 90s, another great decade with awesome music.
Everybody knows the tune if they have any interest in popular music.
But what no one seems to talk about here, is how utterly brilliant the video is.
Exactly the video this song deserved!
Such a belting track.
I agree.
I Love this song '80
Gretting from 🇨🇱
So much creativity
So much good music
So many great videos
Delirium of a deadly age
Ya tengo 56 años y vuelvo a sentirme una joven con esta música, eternos años 80s
I absolutely loved this song back in the 80's I remember my friends telling me that it had connotations.. but I didn't care I thought it was amazing then and still think it is an amazing song - Happy not to be a sheep ;)
The band had several vocalists after Jimmy left to form the Communards, personally I loved Johns voice here.I believe all members were openly gay and the songs were about the struggle of being gay at that time, it was a big deal at the time and yes straight people loved the music and are probably mentioning that because of a lot of the lyrics😀 different time!RIP to past band members💚
2023 still in love 🎧
I saw “Letter to Brezhnev” in 1986 and this song from the soundtrack stayed with me. Excellent film, excellent tune.
Perfect Pop. So brilliant its a bit scary
Quite fast and "technoid" for an 80s song that has no equal. Quite ahead of the time. Great.
I was playing this song on repeat while doing myself up for a night out. My parents came in and wondered what was going on so I came out. Never looked back….!!!
Fantastic Song .i love 80s .i was born in 1980 . questa è vera musica.im italian
Best song from Truthdare Doubledare

Meatball meatball hit that perfect meatball
I'm only here because of the credits to some random video with Metallica if I'm correct
Legendary video
It's from the ending credits of the second part of "a year and a half in the life of Metallica "
I'm a 90s kid...but i love this drive! very good song!
I love Bronski Beat. RIP Steve Bronski 🤍
also RIP Larry Steinbachek (real name: Lawrence Charles Anthony Cole)
I remember so well dancing to this song at a club called the I Beam in San Francisco so many years ago....
Sunday Tea Dances
Not heard this in years, my favourite broski beat song*
Oh wow- what memories!
Before I was shockin out to Techno this had me stomping in the clubs 👍🔥👌
Why is everyone saying not gay but??we are raised in the 80s its they were a great band end of!!
One of my favorite songs of 1985, IIRC. Shortly after I'd have discovered Depeche Mode in full, though the amazing "Shake the Disease". What a year.
When I was a DJ at the SFO Marriott Hotel in 1987-1989 I was fortunate to have an unlimited expense account to purchase all the vinyl and play Bronski Beat, Yaz, Erasure, Thompson Twins, Thomas Dolby, New Order, Marc Almond, Secession,...etc
Good memories
What good times!
I like to sing big boy, big boy hit that perfect big boy and I m not gay 😂😂😂😂
Love the bro ski boys. Grew up with them. At 17 I was on the gay dance floor dancing.
I was 7 when this came out and was a big fan of it. Obviously didn't understand the lyrics but could tell the music was fantastic. Remember watching it on Top of the Pops.
I Am 50 now and love this tune still used to go clubbing to this memories happy times xx
Badass Lisa! 🎉
You must have been very young in the gay club scene ??!!???
College memories...Love this dance track 🎵

Its been on RUclips before but not in high quality until today.
I was born in 1987, and I love so much the 80's. It was so magical! 🕺🏻
I was 6 years old when this was released and remember it from the time. Here's a 1987 music videos playlist I've put together: ruclips.net/p/PL6oCQqv2KW6V09jZ31EcyBXiA9Pr4TNq0
I was a HUUUUGE 80's dancing queen...omg. this song was the first of many great tunes by Bronski Beat. Luv it!!!❤❤❤
I liked the song, but Bronski Beat was Steve Bronski, Jimmy Somerville and Larry Steinbachek for me
I didn't realise this was pre-Jimmy Somerville BB.
It isn't pre, it's after Jimmy.
@@ajs41 Right. I got confused with the Communards.
Meatball, meatball!

R.I.P. Steve Bronski.
All I can think is Lars and Kirk hahahahaha
"Beat that fuckin meat, boy"
Lol
So I was watching some remastered footage of a young 80's Metallica hyping themselves up just before going out to play an American Stadium. This is what they played, in their dressing room, before going out. They played it LOUD. Enough said.
Wooow perfekt cooler song❤😊👍
Awesome!
Hearing the death of Larry broke my heart, I had such a crush on him in the 80's, He was just so beautiful
