Been carrying a Nicron N7 but this review convinced me to get the Arkfeld. I carry it every day and the comfort and brightness and battery life are impressive. Favorite features include a quick double tap to full brightness, which has come in handy with approaching cars while in a crosswalk and dogs running up on me unannounced. Also, the quick charge to the base of the flashlight is handy not that I have to charge it very often because it lasts so long. The only drawback, so far is the smooth surface may slip in my hand. I can highly recommend this, especially at this price point. I paid 70 on eBay
I have carried a surefire 6PX for the last 10 years. It’s had a very hard life. Treated it like garbage. I am a contractor and it’s been everywhere. I use it as a bottle open, hammer and I even lost it for 2 months. Turns out I left it in the garden during the winter (London UK)….. after all that abuse it works perfectly.
I don’t think an olight could withstand that
I lost a cheap thrunight for months as well and found it in my yard...it still works.
People might think I vape if I carry that and I can’t allow people to think I’m gay
🤣🤣
Lol! Now I'm going to be self conscious!
🤣👍
I vape and ur mom loves it! Can’t get enough
Too late🤪
I always appreciate your frank and candid opinions and fair comparisons. I still enjoy that you leave the outtakes on the end of the video. Fine job as always ♫
I got so tired of tearing off the usb boot and am slowly switching over everything to olight. The magnetic chargers are so easy.

STREAMLIGHT Wedge all the way! The olight is cool with the laser though.
Yea but 300 lumens vs 1000 lumens and a laser for the same price? I’m sure they are both nice though
Absolutely streamlight has the best warranty lifetime I have had the wedge for about three months and has been great but it would be nice to have some lower settings
@@Gtxshooter nice 👍
@@aelfwealld both are 1000 lumens on turbo
I purchased this item a few days ago & I ❤️ it⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very pleased with Olight’s S&H, it was an expeditious process for delivery, packaged well - I have no complaints.
One great extra use I see for the laser pointer is that you can have that mode on when the flashlight is in a bag or something, and if it gets accidentally pressed, at least it won't drain the battery as fast.
o light engineer found their old Ipod nano and was like watch this
The laser could be an issue in some scenarios like concerts, airplanes, or other secured areas. I normally could get through security checkpoints when a flashlight looks familiar - at worst, I’m asked to turn it on, rarely asked to cycle through settings.
If they catch that this has a laser they may ask to put it back in your car or confiscate it. I’d still buy this though, cool!
Great point.
I was thinking the same thing.
I love my desert tan Olight Arkfield EDC, with the thin body.
With the laser I can entertain the cat for hours 😂
I also have the Oknife which is now my new EDC knife
I like the Olight 3T EOS. It is durable, streams 180 lumens, is more compact, can clip to my ball hat, and has high or low modes.
Same. Not as bright as some of the other options but takes up less pocket space. Bonus that you only need a single AAA.
I’m glad I watched this video cause I was considering getting an Arkfeld and now I know I’m going to for sure! Thanks SensiblePrepper for the awesome content
It's a super comfortable light for EDC and the Lumens are great. Thanks William!
With all of our EDC carry - we just need to adopt the tactical Fanny pack and make it socially acceptable. Lol.
Good edc light. I been carrying the arkfeld since its early release for testing. its been working fine with no issues, I like the slim design and light output. I don't use the laser, so maybe Olight will release one without it. Good light for the price.

I've been looking at this light, but I did not know the details. Thanks for the good detailed review!
I think the Stiletto pro is worth the money. It’s one of the cleanest light output I’ve ever seen and floods the area extraordinarily well.
This, when comparing the two that stiletto mix of throw and flood was much better.
Plus the Surefire is made in America.
As a Deputy Sheriff I use a light on a daily. The surefire stiletto beats this one from the get go. It seems like a good light. It's just not for Cops or for any tactical situation. Hence the need for a tail switch. Good for the home or car I would say.
Wish they had put the two direction clip on it so you can clip it to a hat?
I3T i5T i5R baton3 WM2 and a few others already have that. Not really needed in this form factor
Just ordered one for myself and one for my daughter for her bday, along with a matching obulb, which is also on sale. They also have free oslings and a free omino if you spend more than 159. I just made out like a bandit.
Cool light. Olight needs to make USB C charging lights though. The mag charger is cool, but proprietary chargers are a hard pass for me.
Looks like a very good general tool. If I only needed a general purpose light this is one that I might consider. However the Arkfeld doesn't address ALL of the roles that my EDC has to do beyond just providing light when the situation is, well, normal. How well it works when SHTF is what I do question. It's a lot like the Streamlight Wedge in this regard, a very well-designed general purpose flashlight that I also own but really can't use in the EDC role because it just doesn't have the right ergonomics to be a handheld weapon support light.
The major thing I don't like about this Arkfeld--and it's a big concern for me--is the lack of a secondary switch at the bottom end of the unit, preferably right where the charging magnet is located. I don't use or want the bulk of a dedicated weapon light on my EDC firearm (a G23), so my EDC flashlight also serves as my impromptu weapon light. This is where the Surefire Stiletto design excels, since it does have a secondary so-called "tactical" switch that can be easily activated one-handed while grasping the unit with the bezel facing toward the potential threat, using the thumb of my weak hand to operate while still providing stabilization support against the left side of my drawn firearm (I shoot right-handed, so my left hand is doing all of the flashlight operations). It may not be as ideal as having a mounted weapon light on the weapon, but I also don't have to have a collection of custom molded Kydex holsters for my Glock+WML for each of the various carry situations that I've been faced with over the years.
This leads to a second issue with this flashlight: in a weapon support light role the Arkfeld has way too many modes to cycle through; low (200-300 lumens), high and strobe is really all that's needed for any light used in this role. The other intermediate settings might provide considerable versatility for general flashlight use, but those added stages just gets in the way when your life may depend on fast deployment of that EDC light for supporting a weapon. Olight may never have intended the Arkfeld to be used in this manner, but its mission statement supposed to be everyday carry, and the fact remains that flashlights are NOT the only thing that gets EDC'd.
Perfect timing
Glad I could help : )
Who did Olight copy? I wanna get something similar that won't catch my pocket on fire.
Stream light came out with their flat light called the “wedge” so the olight is very similar
Thanks for another great video. Would love to see a comparison with the Streamlight equivalent to the Arkfield.
That Stilettos mix of spot and flood was alot better than the other.
Plus, did you mention that it is Made in America?
It's is U.S. made.
I’ve been kinda looking for a flat light
I have this light in neutral white, I really like it 👍🏽
Get the TruNite BSS V4 instead! Best tactical LED on the markent and only around 60-80 bucks depending on where you buy! Super bright 2600 Lumen, slim, super durable, battery last forever, rechargable in 2h via USB, has a long and aggressive bezel in the front which makes it also a kind of a tactical pen hybrid which makes it even more useful in a self defense situation (and you can unscrew the bezel if it is too much for your taste), belt clip AND optional holster, 5 modes (firefly, low, mid, burst and strobe), lockable, comes with an optional red light attachment for the use at night and keeping vision and all rubber parts come with a replacement. Can get it in multiple colors.
I just love it. I EDC one for almost 3 years now, never let me down, I recharded only 2 times so far. Also made a durability test with bursting for a minute straight every day for 3 months and only then I had to recharge. I am stoked about it!
the highlight is the strobe function as edc flashlight. very informative video
How far does the green laser shine? Is it as powerful as those normal green laser?
Yes
Is this water proof, can you change the led light bulb?
Olight the only flashlight with a fire starter most don’t know about.
😆
Does it also have the lock-out function like most other Olights?
Yes
Just curious, why do you trust a newly released light as your new EDC when it hasn't been tested for a few weeks first?
Have you done a review on the Leatherman Signal? If you have I can't find it. It's a 'survival' Leatherman. Thanks for this review. It's by far my favorite Olight so far.
Dang dude...... you give a real review
Good looking light and review , thanks for sharing , God bless !
They should come out with a arkfeld tactical version 🔦😉.
WM2 with laser
@@ICYUNVM3 totally agree
Really like mine but I wish it charged usb c
is the front of this light glass not like the first warrior lights by olight that melted the plastic on front
Aside from entertaining cats, what would you use the laser for anyway?
In a refinery while tracing lines.
Thanks for all the great videos.
I really like the steamlight wedge
the night core tip se is 700 lumens in less than half that size and costs $40
Do you have to hold the button the whole time for it to stay on?
People I just want you to be worried about the sure fire EDC 27. 3000 LUMENS for under a minute. It has an amazing led screen that gives important information that also has a flat profile flashlight. No laser, but it's cheaper at $90
nice selection👌🏼
olight warrior mini 2 does everything, compact, proximity censor and 1700 lumens a button away so its FAST and NATURAL to find it without having to go trough various modes and very compact and comfortable to carry... this is a proper SELF DEFENCE light for EDC! i dont see any point buying anything else, unless you look for specific weapons lights.
I purchased the same light plus the olight s2r baton2 almost a year ago and carry both daily on my belt. The s2r baton2 gets the most use though because of the stronger magnet and it's about an inch shorter.
How long does it run for 1700 lumens?
Does it right ? And have bac lit ?
if only olight would add a usb c charging port then they would do so much better , if they did that one thing alone across there range then i think there sales would increase by 100%
yup those magnetic chargers are imo just a flat out stupid idea, i hate their method of proprietary chargers
@@Mr.Thermistor7228 finally someone else who sees sense , when using these things like camping ect it's unnecessary having to take extra stuff and if you forget or loose these proprietary chargers then we're tottaly stuck , can't be hard to chuck on a USB c port especially for the cost of these lights as there not cheap , people have been wanting them across the range for years so maybe one day olight will actually see the light and fix the biggest deal breaker with there lights
I just got one I like it but it's definitely not putting out a thousand lumens on turbo mode or at all for that matter lol
I'll keep using my Wowtac A1S that I paid $25 for, including the battery 😁
You should check out and review Thrunite flashlights. My EDC includes their BSS W1, which is a super tiny light that offers up to 693 Lumens. One of the things I like is that it takes a standard micro USB cable. It also has a magnetic back. At
micro usb sucks
Tried to order, the site SUCKS! Would not let me finish my order and says I have an invalid address. WTF
I'll get one. It matches my Ultratech.
I just got the green one which matches my Guardian Recon. Might need a black to match the Ultratech.
Stiletto Pro is still a better choice if budget is not an issue.
I've had multiple flashlights with magnetic ends, I've noticed they collect a lot of metalic dust. I normally throw a piece of clear tape over the magnet. Will it still charge with tape over the magnetic charger?
No, it needs metal to metal contact to charge
I feel like the controls are on the wrong side. They are facing your leg constantly
I like Olight, but I view each product with some scrutiny. With all their sales and deals, they can be very tempting. As a flashlight enthusiasts, however, I do not like many of their products. Low CRI, cool tints, proprietary batteries, and higher prices dissuade me from buying most of their stuff. The Arkfeld, with a (arguably) low-capacity LiPO battery and decent CRI, does not do it for me. It definitely has its uses, but I don't need it.
I’ve carried my Acebeam E70 for a little over a year now. Not sure if I could go to something with much less lumens without the support of more candela.
What's the lumens on the acebeam?
@@Ohmed_88 4600lm at roughly 15000 candela. I’ve got the 5000k version so the number might be slightly less?
Be cool if it also had a C charging port incase you didn’t have the charger or it broke or left it home accidentally camping ect…

It should switch between spotlight and floodlight. Missed opportunity.
Fenix My Friend
Why no light and laser at the same time?
I don’t think you can have them on at the same time. There is a different switch position for each mode
Can’t see myself with one.
I prefer a baton 3
My life style don’t need a laser flashlight.
This is one product I will pass on.
Love olights products but hate there finishes
1 Olight sold!
Streamlight wedge is a thousand lumens in turbo mode great flashlight and it won't blow up in your hand
But its limitations are the Turbo only lasts for 30 seconds and will only stay in Turbo as long as you’re manually pressing the toggle switch forward. As soon as you let go, it reverts back to 300 lumens.
@@allemander That's true but like I stated it doesn't blow up in your hand like o lights do
I've been carrying 2 olights daily for almost a year now and neither have blown up. They are actually the best edc lights I've had so far and I've been through a lot.
@@emort6 well I'm really happy that they haven't blown up on you but they have been sued by multiple people they have killed people blowing up. That's facts just because yours haven't grown up yet don't mean they won't. They're very unsafe is plenty of videos you can watch to find out about it and they pay a ton of money to get people to endorse them
@@DeadeyeDgen You made me search and I can only find one instance where that might have occurred 5 years ago, the rest is just forum talk with no evidence. There have been recalls but every company has recalls.
just got my olight uv flashlight based on your reviews and am surprisingly disappointed that it only has a two year warranty NOT a lifetime warranty. This would have changed the equation if I had known this before dropping $90 BUYER beware as always.......
Need it.
Nebo torchy 2k = 2000 lumens. $35
Dear OLight: put the light / lens in the FRONT
The 10$ as seen on tv flashlight is an ok light ,,i have one on my rifle .....and its very bright ...
Really nice light but not a fan at all of the charging. That's a deal killer. Just another cable to pack and being proprietary I doubt you can pick one up at Walmart if you forgot it or list it in vaca. Why can't everything be simple and USB-C! Lol
One big problem with Olight chargers... I have one of their pistol light/laser combos, and one of their spherical lanterns. The chargers look the same, but the magnets have a different magnetic polarity so they are not interchangeable. Good concept, but if they make a charger like that, the cables should all be the same.
Not only that, I sometimes have to futz about with the charging button as it doesnt always connect immediately. I must admit I prefer USB as I always have access to USB cables and its a flawless connection everytime, especially USB C.
I do have around eight Olights though, good solid lights.
yea that it is a huge major flaw i have with those proprietary chargers like that. its honestly such a stupid bad idea. why companies do that i will never know. just give me a god damn usb-c like every other freaking electronic device out there. im not trying to keep track of 13 different magnetic/clip/whatever the fck charger like come on wtf
Well , in my view , if light is your number one defense tool and it is , you EDC flshlight should be a tactical one , and none of the ones you showed is a tactical one , of course that Surefires in general have no rival... apart from well , maybe Elzetta , but as the great reviewer you are , i think that you should only consider a tactical light as EDC , EVEN BECAUSE IN A STRESS situation the oposing thumb , you know !!
Strobe mode is definitely useful for defense.. trust me u don't wanna be strobed.
I'm not saying that the arkfeld is a tactical defense light. But I think strobe mode is definitely useful for defense.
Looks like a good shape for a headlamp with the bill of a hat but the clip is on the wrong side. Shame.
If you're not "in love" with your ballcap, you might try poking a hole at the base of the brim of the cap to stick the clip through? (...Just thinkin' outside my padded cell!) 🤪
@@johnwillett2725 Not the worst idea but I wear hats a lot and like to be able to just pull out my flashlight and make a headlamp on the fly.
I only cary single mode lights. Got tired of always cycling thru modes.
can't believe that surefire is 150 bucks more expensive than the arkfeld
Hi SP ! I finally made it the Bucc-ees in Florence that you + NCHeel talked about - that place was Wild ! But the brisket was good .
I was at that same Bucc-ees last week on the way to the beach. It was a mad house! The Brisket is the bomb! Thanks Betty!
@@SensiblePrepper i was on the way to North Myrtle 👍
Looks like a firestick remote
Cable box remote???
Hey sootch love the light do you know if edc does it accidently come on due to no lock out feature?
It has lockout
The only downside to the Arkfeld is that the battery is non replaceable.
For green laser you just press on/off or you hold press? 🤔 Would be nice to have 2 different leds, one cool white, another neutral white, or warm collour. Something like that to choose when you need something different.
What to do with the 2 baton3 & 3 WM2 ???
on the stiletto. . . you can clip to the bill of your cap. . NO GO on arkfeld. :o(
Thank you!!! SureFire may be good stuff but, it's absurdly overpriced.
Be nice if they weren’t sold out!
I really like it when people can read and correctly pronounce product names they’re promoting.
Arkfield vs Arkfeld.
These names are not intended to be interchangeable and only one of them is correct. 🤦🏼♂️
What a sad thing to care about.
@@noahvannote363
Few things are sadder than promoting illiteracy.
Is the lens cover plastic or glass?
The lens is glass.
1,000 lumen on turbo. 300 lumen on high.
Won’t buy anything that has an original USB port. Needs to be at least usb type c. But I prefer plights charging method Way superior
a flashlight isnt security during the day
RovyVon Makes some excellent designs as well. Godspeed
