I have been a mechanic for 2 decade's this lights is going to be a great tool I just ordered one.
I have a bunch of Olights for years now. They are great. Going to get this one because I like the idea of it being flat in the pocket.
Have been happy with my original Arkfeld Titanium, I got myself one for Christmas. Have run it at 300L for a few minutes most days since then and haven't had to recharge it yet. The laser certainly isn't "tactical" but it is functional for pointing things out, doing presentations or sure, playing with pets. Didn't know they had come out with this one; will probably get one because I've been so pleased with the original. Thanks for your work Sootch00.
How many minutes does it last on 300L before dropping down to 60L output?

I just ordered one last night. I had an olight for years but my kid lost it and I've gone without for months now. It's been driving me crazy because it highlighted just how much I used it and how great it was. This is a perfect replacement finally!

I've had this light for almost a year now, carry and use it every single day and I had no idea it had 5 modes. Never accessed the moonlight or turbo mode until I just saw a comparison video for the Wuban X3 and the guy said this one had 5 modes when I thought it was only 3. I had a choice, read the damn manual or come here and check out your take on it. Thanks a million Sootch!
I do a lot of repair work on our own and the family's cars and the original has server me well, as well as the laser entertaining the cats and dog, but with the UV on this new model with the UV it's even more useful to me. Need to wait a week to get one but get one I will.
If you use a flashlight a lot with a regular charging port the magnetic attachment on Olights prevents the wear and tear of a push in end as well as being fully sealed and water tight.

Got my NW in black and blue yesterday. Love it, If there was a rubber button on the side to go straight into turbo on the side when pressed it’d be the perfect flashlight

The Australia sale starts soon, I'm coming from carrying a Klarus 18650 2100 lm model , but in my job now I work at a bottleshop so I don't need 2100 lm, and the form factor is what's got me looking, plus I can use the UV to show people tonic and other alchol glows under uv, plus I get an otacle for 2$ more then the light alone xD

Now that I have it I can say it is a nice flat easy to carry light, the definition of EDC. It's not that big so don't expect massive output, but the turbo does do a pretty good job. The UV light also works as advertised.
I wish it came with the UV and laser pointer. Guess that'll be the next model? I'll keep my OG Arkfeld until then. Still wish i had the new pocket clip. Great video, thanks!
Ordered mine yesterday sweet
I liked the original Arkfeld but didn't really see the need for the green laser pointer. This new one is sweet with the UV light, the knurling on the sides, and the new pocket clip, now it is perfect. I also prefer the Neutral white instead of the Cool white color.
If you actually need a UV light, you already have a better one than this.

Can you open the back side to get access to the battery? Eventually, the battery will degrade and will need to be replaced. I want to know if the flashlight has a user-replaceable battery.

i had to get the arkfeld after watching comparison videos of the streamlight and surefire.
i broke a pocket clip screw taking off the pocket clip because i shrink wrapped some rare earth magnets to the outside of the pocket clip and they are tiny. i havent even tried to extract the broken screw yet.
and the magnets i bought were too small and weak so that was a double fail on my end but i love the light

I'm always looking for an affordable vein finder as a healthcare worker. If pressed up against your hand does it illuminate the veins? A standard bright light does pretty well but I'm curious about the UV light. Please let me know.
Also, what's the chance it can work to purify water?
I checks out the UV on my arms and didn't notice any advantage from the UV.... Not sure about water purification with the Arkfeld but UV can be used to purify water. It may be according to the intensity of the UV light. It would interesting to test. Thanks Brother
@sootch00 I guess if you don't know how to use it you wouldn't know how to check. We use bright lights pressed up against the skin to visualize superficial veins. It can be done with a pen light but the brighter the light the better. There are UV light vein finders already on the market so that's why I asked about that. And yes, UV light is the most effective for killing all sorts of bad microorganisms (we use them in rooms after having patients with infectious illnesses). I guess I'll just have to get one and perform my own tests. Thanks for the amazing reviews, I have been with you since your early Uzi videos.

The UV light aids in curing the UV glues that I take camping, motorcycle touring and fly-fishing. No need for an extra UV torch now.
Can you charge other lights with that charger and is the ark only able charge with that charger. just curious we all have so many olight chargers 😂

How is the throw? I work communications construction and I use a old tlr-7 (not comfortable to carry at all, but i don’t use it on my pistol anymore) have for pointing down potholes and searching for utilities, if I kneel down and really study it works out most of the time, but I’d rather not be kneeling down on wet rubble or mud all day, especially when the weather is bad.
If this isn’t ideal but you have any other recommendations for that kinda stuff please let me know!
I work 10-12 hour days but we only pothole about 1-3 hours tops.
Of course the flashlight is not always on that entire time maybe 2 minutes tops, about 5-10 times. The potholes are typically 4-7’ deep, about 1x1’ in depth at access, even smaller as they descend
Get yourself quality and go with a cloud defensive MCH micro with the EDC head. You’ll be in American made heaven.

i think you would be better served with one of the baton olights or the warrior mini. consider the perun headlamp as its a right angle light if you didnt want to use the headband

UV is cool but I rather have a red ight to save my night vision.
I did get a NW but when it comes to identifying objects, the CW is the way to go. I am not using this flashlight to take beautiful photos. I want it to shine up objects. CW is the only way to go. Everyone talks about 'hotel rooms' but I showed my wife the toilet at home and she is cranky at me. She thinks I am pointing out her deficiencies in the cleaning department. I scrubbed the toilet and walls with 'baby wipes'.

The lockout mode should be good enough. Most modern flashlights have them.

The brightness comparison is old footage…. Summer time insects and foliage…, I assume nothing has changed but the uv options and new chassis.
Yes, it's the same Lumens and identical light other that the upgrades so I used the original footage.
@@sootch00 The comparison of the CW (crappy white) and the NW (neutral white) was useful. I am sure you can tell I prefer the NW, LOL, with which I perceive much better as the added depth of colors provide a more 3D image. Although the lumens are the same, note the FAQ on the Olight page [to which I added the numbers in brackets]:
Q3: Why does the Arkfeld UV [1,808cd] have a lower range and candela than Arkfeld [2,560cd]?
A3: There is a slight drop in candela due to the UV emitter taking up some room next to the white emitter. The shape of the lens changed slightly to accommodate both.

Don, for you and your viewers. My experience and review is mixed. I bought the Arkfeld during the release. I mainly use it for walking my dog at night. My only problem is when pulling it out of my pocket in the dark, I can't feel where the switch is. AKA, the ergonomics for your hand is not very good. I will probably change it back to a flashlight that I can immediately tell where the switch is.
Prob a great tool to use on crime scenes for police

Sootch, I wish you would affiliate with another light company. Sorry, but Olight has been a huge disappointment to myself and my family. I ordered the latests Valkyrie on Black Friday and it is total junk with the beem getting noticeably dimmer within moments of the light being on and continuing to get darker Shipping took a very long time with little to no communication from Olight. You are way too good of a channel to deal with Olight. I will say while Olight cannot seem to make a decent weapons light their micro lights are incredible.

This is a good urban/edc flashlight option because you have access to a charging port or a spare flashlight if your'e in a bad spot. Just keep in mind that this flashlight is completely sealed so you'll have to wait in the dark for the flashlight to recharge because you cant replace the battery. If the battery goes bad; your out $65. If you're a hiker or camper use a flashlight that you can replace the battery on and whose lens you can use to start a fire during the day.

Olight is too expensive for their standard lights. The EDC lights are decent. Internal and proprietary batteries. Low lumens. No options for different emitters, drivers, color temps. Not worth the money.

this in a sense is a e-waste purchase , from a company that produced rechargeable fast drain 123a replacement batteries , flat out no matter the brand I will never carry a light that I can not quickly remove a battery in the field apron failure of a rechargeable to hold charge . I carry a stream light pro-tac 1L-1AA and run 1x o-light RCR123A-650mAh
Model No: ORB-163P06 with 1 back up and 2x standard lithium stream light 123a non rechargeable my trl-1 weapon light also runs these , but I like the ability to run AA,AAA,123A, rechargeable lithium or alkaline all are welcome to the party pal.. No user service battery in field tool less = no sale for me .
i love the 1l-1aa! i also have the right angled one on a backpack shoulder strap.
i have my 1l-1aa in a vltor flashlight mount and had it on a pistol upper with eotech 512 so my light and optic would take the same easy to find battery.
i might just take it out of that mount so i can go back edc and enjoying it.

If it didn’t have that silly proprietary charging dongle and used USB-C like the rest of the civilized world, this would be the ultimate edc flashlight. The charging dongle is a big turnoff.
