Engine failure doesn’t commonly happen on the 3.3. The one common issue you have missed is a faulty 4wd coupler causing vibration when starting from a stop.
I’ve owned a 2017 Sorento for almost 4 years now and have experienced very few issues. Other than routine maintenance and a brake job, I haven’t had to take it into the shop. It’s been the most reliable vehicle I’ve ever owned.
Bought the 2016 Kia Sorento, had it for about 4 years just hit 95k miles, did my regular maintenance, I was heading towards Vegas with my wife, all of a sudden, check Engine light came on at 10pm middle of no where. The car started to slow down didn’t have any service, had to walk to the gas station, tow the car back home which costed 1k bucks. Took the car to the kia service shop, and found out that the we needed a new Engine!!! Rod bearings gave out.. really disappointed. Not sure if it’s going to be under manufacture warranty.
@@davemanzombies3853 Sorry to hear about your engine. My Sorento has just under 92K miles. Hopefully it doesn’t experience any major mechanical failures.
My wife and i bought a used 2017 Sorrento. It is in excellant shape. We have put some miles on it just running around. But a few months ago my wife had to take a trip to mississippi. We live in missouri. I told her to check the oil everytime she stopped for gas. When she returned i checked the oil and it was full and clean. She didnt add any oil because it was full and clean. I love the damn thing.

My 2015 KIa sorento is the biggest piece of crap I’ve ever owned . Engine blew at 35k , headlights go out every 2 months . Engine light has been on for 3 years . All electrical is screwed up . Had multiple recalls .piece of shit
In regards to engine faliure and a new recall. If you contact kia there was a new recall that addresses the engine faliure of bottom end lubrication. It is a liftime extension of warranty even to second owners. You mayneed to dig deep and call multiple dealerships for them to find the exact documentation on it. Anyways I was the second owner of a 120k sorento and i got a free engine out of the deal! Dont give up on it!
Lenny and Ai did an excellent job of covering the top 5 issues on the Kia Sorento. I have owned 3 vehicles boing back to 2011 and I have a 2015 Sorento EX now. I have kept up wit the maintenance and have had just a few problems, mostly cosmetic . Brakes done twice and it gets bit more juice and pep with the synthetic blend oil.
I have a 2015 Kia Sorento EX v6 that I purchased in 2015 with 28k miles. It is now 2023 and I have 240k miles on it & it drives like new. I had issues when it was about 80k miles that warranty mostly covered ( 2 alternators, the motherboard and the EVO radio which also controls the backup camera). The last 160k miles have been relatively trouble free except for routine maintenance. I have had the headlight bulb issue but found using bulb grease helps longevity by giving a better connection.
I've had 2 Sorentos (2015- 164K & 2017- 89k), my daughter has a 2020 Sorento (96K).....all 3 are V6.....nothing ever wrong other than batteries, brakes, tires, wipers. My son has a Kia Sportage 2017 (123K9 - same story. No complaints at all.
Owner of a 2015 Sorento SX. Purchased used in 2021. Our seconed one, as I like so much. Only have had parts wear issues. I maintain with near OCD tenacity ;) Good vehicle all a round.
Most of these engine issues are with the 4cyl version. The V6 is a pretty bullet proof engine. I have a 2020 Sorento SX V6 AWD with 39k on it and it's been SUPER reliable. And it has a nice throaty growl on cold start up and when accelerating. The only thing i had a problem with since i bought it used in like new condition. Was the shifting between gears on a cold start would skip or lurch the vehicle forward until the engine warmed up. It's a fairly common problem i read on various Sorento forums online. However, that was solved by the dealership running a flush and re-program of the gears. And it's been smooth as butter since.
Wow thank you. I have a 2014 Kia Sorrento have all the issues you mentioned. I’ve had to replace bulbs at least 4 times within a short space of time. When I drive it does make the rattling sound. I’m fearing I’ll need to replace the engine (which is covered under warranty) but the wait at the dealership is over 2 weeks. They said if I drop it off it will take 2 weeks… this is frustrating

Hey 1A Auto, You are showing everything about the KIA Sorento 3rd Generation. KIA SORENTO 3rd generation is 2016-2020. You are doing a video on a 2015 KIA SORENTO 2md Generation. I use to drive the 2nd generation. Now I'm driving the 3rd generation KIA Sorento.
I have a 2013 that kept blowing the bulbs and the harness connector was melted. I spliced a new connector to the existing wires and melted again. I ended up changing the entire housing (aftermarket) and it fixed the problem.
FYI; class action lawsuit in the US was settled for 3/4 of a billion and another lawsuit pending in Canada related to engine failure in Kia cars/SUVs for certain years. Main culprit seems to be 2.0 litre GDI which is prone to total failure. Just happened to me. 2015 Kia Sorento with only 62,000 km (about 40,000 miles). Kia Motors authorized dealer to replace the engine with a new one. Probably a $10,000 repair job if I had to pay for it. Apparently the problem is metal debris from manufacturing process clogging the oil ports you showed, leading to bearing failure at which point the engine self-destructs. Oil changes and top ups are not going to prevent this. But be sure to change oil regularly as Kia asks to see records that this has been done.
Yes, and the same problem was reported (recall-wise) for the 2014 + Hyundai Sonata. Every owner should have gotten an extended warranty guarrantee. Mine ran flawlessly for 75,000 miles. I had just put on new tires and an oil, filter, and cabin filter and a woman rear-ended the car at ~40 MPH. Totaled it! This is the worst time to buy/replace what had been a great car!
@@Brandon-21MN same with me. My 15 cadenza shares the same 3.3L sorrento but they haven't said a word about the cadenza being recalled. No letter or anything as far as updates either. And just recently my connecting rod bearings started to fail. Ran perfect and I did my own oil changes to be sure I knew what was being done. I only ran penzoil full synthetic with mobile one filter. Noticed shavings on my last change then not even 2 weeks and it started knocking at start up and acceleration so it's been parked ever since
I had both of my DRL/High Beam bulbs blow at almost exactly the same time. If it happens again in the near future I'll be sure to replace the harnesses as well. Thanks!
I bought a 2008 Sorento V6 AWD new. I drove it for 11 years and replaced fluids, light bulbs, wiper blades, 1 battery, 1 Windshield and that was all. Took it to KIA for a recall to do with a Tail lights problem mine never had. It had a 4wd Low, which was great for off roading. First vehicle I owned for that long without needing any repairs. It had no creaks or rattles at all and still drove like when it was new, when I traded it in for a new 2019 Sorento SXL V6 AWD. I have had zero problems with my 2019 SXL Sorento. It is loaded with every feature and option you could get in 2019 which is a very long list. In comparison,a Toyota Highlander with all those features would have cost me about 25% more. My Sorento’s are my winter and bad weather vehicles, so they get exposed to the rain, snow, sleet, sand, rocks and salt on the winter roads and temperatures as low as - 40° c. Canadian winters are brutal on vehicles. Because I need the garage room for my summer vehicle and motorcycles in the summer, my Sorento’s sit out in the baking sun all summer. I take as good care of them, but they still live fairly harsh lives, which is another reason I admire how well they’re made. After 12 winters, my 2008 Sorento had zero visible rust and the mag wheels were still in great shape. I couldn’t detect any protective coating on the wheels, so maybe the alloy was impervious to the salt. All in all, I have driven a Sorento as my winter and bad summer weather vehicle since 2008 without a single problem. Except for normal consumables, I haven’t spent a dime on either one. They’ve been the best made vehicles I have owned in almost 60 years of driving. Solid, comfortable and reliable…and not one squeak or rattle (which I detest). At my age, I expect my 2019 Sorento to be my last.
Thank you for the information. Can you please help me with this question. I have looked in the owner's manual and service manual and it doesn't tell me what type of power steering fluid to use. 2017 Kia Sorento
The ones with the 3.3 V6 are prone to oil leaks. Most commonly from the oil pressure switch. Kia extended the limited warranty for 2014-2018 sorentos with the 3.3 V6 from 5 yrs /60,000 miles to 15 yrs/ 150,000 miles whichever comes first to address the oil pressure switch issue
I know there have been problems and recalls for the first few years, but I figured the 2019 and 2020 models should be all sorted out as long as proper maintenance was done regularly. I was really considering trading in my 2015 Sportage LX AWD with less than 110,000 km (69000 miles) for a Sorento V6 EX AWD, preferably a 2020 with lower mileage than mine, so I can tow a 3000lb trailer, plus whatever is in the car. Would you advise against that? These issues seem minor if the oil is topped up and changed often.
Oil pressure sensor fails and looks like main seal is leaking its the oil pressure switch or oil filter housing still a pain to change it's under the intake
You probably did this video a while ago, but when I first start my 2018 kia sorento in the morning and travel to work, approximately 10 klm away, when I park and turn off engine there`s a loud rattling noise direcly under my vehicle near it`s center. Any ideas as to what this may be?
Very helpful, I am still in the hunt after 3 years having random events of engine lacking power and sputtering, even when reving up it is like not engaging. By now after so many googling I guess it’s not a single issue but a bunch of issues, gonna test the coil and see instead replacing all fuel system components.
Have you installed an oil catch can? That's what I do with mine have that I don't have any problems what you mentioned. I own a 2019 Sorento all wheel drive V6 3.3 L engine and installed an oil catch can and it runs wonderfully
So I have a 2014 Kia Sorento and my tail lamp last about two month or so before one blows I use dielectric grease and replaced a harness had the clock spring issue with it and it was a recall for it and I also have a issue with my passenger doors unlocking and the decided to solder the door relays on the IPM board that I really don’t want to take to the dealer for because it cost a $1000 plus to fix
Great video! I just bought a used 2017 Kia Sorento at auction, which is my second Sorento. I have a 2015 that has (Knocks on wood) had ZERO problems. This video was a great informational video, I was unaware of the head light issue. I'll be on the lookout for that if I have failures with the bulb. Quick RFI. My 2017 has several issues and my code reader listed 5 codes, two of which were misfires. I got a kit that had all four plugs and coils so I went a head and replaced all four sets. However, the misfire on cylinder four remains. The connector and wires look good to me. Any suggestions on what to check next?
The engine issues you talked about was mainly if people dont keep up their mantenaince. Any vehicle, not just Kia will experience engine issues if the oil isnt changed, if low quality or improper oil is used.
Found myself here because of #5 - total engine failure due to lack of oil (and lack of warning - oil pressure light.). If you buy a 3rd Gen Sorento make sure you get the software update specifically for this issue - you will have a lifetime warranty on your engine. The 4 Cylinder Sorento engines burn oil after 50k miles and you will not be warned about low oil pressure. Learn from my mistake - my engine wasn’t covered. Frankly, I’d just stay away from these cars altogether but if you do buy one, get the update.
I found that the headlights would last a lot longer on KIA’s if you don’t slam the hood down hard. I learned this from frequent light changes on a Optima and Sorrento and once I did not slam the hood down problem went away.
Folks in 1A Auto has a lot of parts sale data base, from the data mining, you can help both manufactures , repair industies, and finally customers. Good topic👍😄 Good job!
Biggest issue I've had with my 19' AWD SX is Brake/Rotor noise. They aren't worn out, per se-just roar at a stop. I'm at 95k and will be on my second set of pads and rotors to deal with the roaring.
I change my oil religiously and clean the map sensor every 20k at least i just hit 71k miles owned it new and runs like a champ. Most people i hear about having issues are folks who dont take care of it to well. I go camping a lot so usually check things frequently. I already had O2 sensor done covered under warranty at 32k miles i have done passenger balljoint, four shocks upgraded to KYB along with KYB strut mounts. Front sway bar links and passenger inner outter tie rods. Upgraded my lights to led which might be why they do not burn out. I usually just use Orielley auto parts simply because they are oe. Quality im afraid of autozone and advance auto. I might try 1A auto parts just for comparison on quality now that i heard of you guys anc thd reputation about 1A auto
LED bulbs generally do not run on 12v so there is a DC to DC inverter to get the correct LED voltage built in. = The changing range of input DC (for this KIA) is buffered somewhat = much less voltage fluctuation (if any) going to the bulbs. You could also try some "conductive grease" on the OEM connections. = quality led bulbs should fix this situation.
Hello I have a question about my Kia Serrato 2013 no check engine light 💡 does not come on and sometimes it stutters start and I have to give it gas. I’m taking it to the dealership and unfortunately neither telling me I have to wait a specialist. Do you have any comments? Thanks.
Looking for a new, to me, used Kia Sorrento since my 2002 rusted out underneath totally in the back end, so it can n longer be driven. Have been wondering if there are any major problems with the"newer" used Kia's. You answered my questions.
I have a 2014 KIA Sorento and one headlight is always "burnt out" but when I open up the housing and grab the bulb (with nitrile gloves on" the light starts working again for a month or so. My steering wheel buttons have stopped working, I am not able to scroll through the different pages. MY "time to service" the vehicle light is on but I cant get to the "reset" button so I just have to keep it logged when the next oil change is needed. I have been very happy with my 2014 except for a few smaller issues that are just annoying (air bag light, rear window wiper fluid wont flow (it leaks from the bottom of the car and I cant get to where the issue is) and my fuel door button wont open the fuel door. Otherwise my Sorento has been an awesome vehicle for my family, I have over 110k miles on it without anything really major happening. I would buy this one again if I had to...
Greetings, excellent channel, congratulations. I wanted to ask a question, do you know the solution when the lever of the kia sorento locks, is it a switch?
My Kia Sorento has been sitting there for 11 months due to rattle sound. Now I'm trying to start it but can't crank or start. ignition lights are on but can't crank . what's the best advise on this? I appreciate watching this video.
These Kia V6 motors like clean oil and full trust me I have the 3.5 in my 2012 sedona and it makes that noise on start up if they oil is not always full. If you want this engine to last a long time try not to do short trips in the city. If you live in a cold place in the winter make sure to plug in the block heater and synthetic oil is a must! These V6 kia hyundai motors are good just take care of them the 3.3 the 3.5 and the 3.8 Lambda II is good.
Yes #5 just happened to my 2016 sorento and in the exact same manner as the example given.....was on a major highway, knocking, loss of power, pull off the road, tow....cata engine failure. Oil level was fine and changed regularly by a shop. 180,000 kms...thee end RIP.

I'd like to address the airbag light. Mine comes on intermittently but has others that come on as well such as the traction control and ABS. I believe it is a ground issue. I need to know the locations of the relevant grounding points. Do you have this information? Thanks in advance.
Could never get an answer throughout my search, so here it goes. My 2015 Kia Sorento does Not have the Horn/Beep sound when locking doors, any information on what can be the problem will be very helpful.
Our Kia Sorento LX has a problem with the tail light, I think it’s the wiring harness, how do I know what the issue is, we took it to a mechanic and they couldn’t find what was wrong but replacing a bulb didn’t fix the issue, advice?

Does 1A Auto have all parts available for 2020 Kia Sorento's? Also I have a wire hanging in the front of my Kia Sorento, and my right headlight is not working any suggestions?
I bought a 2019 kia sorento ex. 1 owner vehicle before I purchased. My biggest problem is the headlights seem to be pointing down. I can't drive in flurries (light snowstorm) or drive at night. Also even when it rains heavy towards night time I don't trust driving it. I replaced the bulbs this week and still seems to be a problem. Has less than 24k miles on it. The only adjustment is for the headlights to go left and right. Not up and down..... HELP!
I drive a 2015 Kia Sorento LX(base model) like this and I have abt. 79,000 miles on it now. Bought it used with 60,000 miles. Once I hit around like 75,000 miles, I was driving on a long highway and all of a sudden, I heard a boom clank! And then engine light came on. It wasn’t going even though I was pressing the gas and I was in the middle lane which was scary but eventually got to shoulder of road. It wouldn’t drive past 25 mph. We took it to family friend mechanic and they said it was a broken knock sensor. Was about to pick it up the next day and said there’s more issues with it that they couldn’t figure out. We had it towed to Kia dealership. KIA SORENTO 2015 HAVE ENGINE RECALLS!! the people at Kia said “yea that happens a lot” um! Pls check and make sure yalls engines are up to date! They replaced my whole engine with no charge. Also, when I got the car two years ago, I immediately switched the lights and had them customized to a brighter bulb which makes it so much better to see. The Kia Sorento lx 2015 had a poor rating in headlights.
Aw I hope they fix mines for free my engine just went out at 116,000 I have the same model car as yours. And I hope they fix it for free too I’m waiting to hear back from them now..
The voltage output of the alternator could be too high OR not enough heat is being dissipated from the bulb by its socket OR both. I'd check the alternator /regulator output with a 'scope. If that's OK, I'd try to get rid of more heat from the bulb by using thermal- conducting grease (like they use to mate a transistor/FET to its heatsink) on the socket's contacts, both electrical and metal-to-metal. I'd also try to increase the area of the metal flange of the socket to do the same if the grease doesn't help. Maybe the"harness replacement" could work because they've re-designed the socket/harness to dissipate the heat. All any wire can do is resist the flow of electrons. The thicker the wire the more current it can pass without causing a "voltage drop" (e.g. heat). To say the harness/wires are allowing too much current to the bulb is misleading. That implies that the manufacturer intended the wire to act as a "resistor" between the alternator and the bulb. I'ts more likely that the manufacturer skimped on the size of the wire to save a few bucks! Copper aint cheap no more! It's the load (the bulb's filament resistance) which establishes the demand for the alternator's/battery's current in the circuit. Perhaps the manufacturer of the bulb decided he wanted a brighter output and threw caution to the wind... or it's a cheap filament for the specified/required output (China?). Then again, perhaps it's the initial surge of current hitting that filament, causing it to break after so many cycles of off-to-on. To combat that, I'd insert a "choke" to slow that in-rush of current. Yes, I can get pretty deep but 65 years in electronics will do that to ya! Good luck all!
Hi, My 2014 Kia Sorrento suddenly stopped moving. When I changed to reserve/drive from the parking lot, it did not move. Sometimes, the car sliding symbol comes, but not all the time. What could be the issue? The local machine replaced all calipers, drums, and pads, and it is still not moving. What should the next step be?
I don't buy the headlight theory that the wiring resistance is too low. The headlight bulbs are designed for a specified voltage range of alternator voltage for all 12V vehicles. The problem can only be that the alternator control of output is poor, or possibly the headlight units are sufering a high degree of vibration or physical shock. I am an electronics engineer

Thanks man, great video. God forbid but mine has not had any of those issues. I believe mantainence is the secret to keep anything and everything going smooth. Stay on top of that and you will have no major issues. I got a letter in the mail for engine fires though on the I4 and they are doing lifetime engine warranty and reimbursement for engine work. Mine has treated me great so far. I only use valvoline oil simply because they have been around since the beginning of automobile existence they have learned the most and oil is responsible price

I had a problem where my hose disconnected from the nozzle and I am having trouble connecting it back on. Can you make a video on how to reconnect the hose to the nozzle please!
If the 4 cylinder engine dies, it's covered by the court settlement. Look it up online. It's unlimited mileage (Yes really) and covers the 4 cylinder 2.4 and 2.0T through 2017 at least.
do you know if its only in USA or canada aswell? also is it only if you OWNED a kia at that time or let's say I would buy a kia sorento 2017 2L turbo I would have a free engine for life?
Has anyone here gotten their timing chain tensioner (and probably chain too) replaced? I experience that exact rattling on startup and it goes away after a few seconds even with the oil level always full. It's just past 100,000 miles. Thinking of getting that replaced before it slips and the whole engine shreds.
So my camera just went out on mine’s don’t know why, thought maybe it could have been from the ice and snow, am I gonna have to replace it ? I haven’t had the vehicle a year yet .

About the airbag light, some of the Sorentos have warranty extensions for certain airbag related issues. I’d stop by the dealer first to see if it is covered.
The Sorento shown in this video looks older than the newest gen, or even the second newest gen of Sorento. Could you tell us what year the one shown is?
Have a 2007 Rondo LX 2.4L made in Korea. No major issues. Still runs like a clock, but routine maintenance is key. Kia's made stateside have less quality control IMO.
Have you seen a failed oil level sensor? I noticed a small leak and low oil during my last oil change. My 2016 Kia Sorento was 2-3 quarts low after less than 1000 miles after changing the oil. The small leak is a big leak while operating apparently. Either way the oil light wasn’t on and I never got a low warning.
You must drive them differently as we in Oz do - could be that we live in the subtropics. Driving in Australia, a KIA or a Hyundai can be spotted driving every three minutes on the HWYs, on the freeways and cross country.......or they do the right hand drive with more care?
My kia soul has the knocking noise when first start and the headlight issue. Im gonna suggest to my hubby to replace the wiring to it next time it goes out.
Hello, Thank you for your very informative videos. My wife has a 2018 Kia Sorento that we bought used and we continue to have starting issues with it. The car will simply not start consistently. It seems to me to be something wrong with the signals that are sent during the starting sequence because after struggling to start the Sorento, it will sometimes start with only having to touch the start button and your foot is not on the brake or after fighting to try to get the Sorento to start, you get out of the car frustrated and close the driver's door and the Sorento starts, but yet no one was inside the car pushing the start button or had their foot on the brake pedal. It also has a very hard brake pedal during the times that it struggles to start. Do you have any experience with this happening in Kia Sorento or other Kia vehicles? Thank you for your help 🙂

Engine failure doesn’t commonly happen on the 3.3. The one common issue you have missed is a faulty 4wd coupler causing vibration when starting from a stop.

My 2015 KIa sorento is the biggest piece of crap I’ve ever owned . Engine blew at 35k , headlights go out every 2 months . Engine light has been on for 3 years . All electrical is screwed up . Had multiple recalls .piece of shit
@@ashwednesday9570 yes my engine just blew out at 116,000 miles and my lights always not working
I maintain with near OCD tenacity ;)
Good vehicle all a round.
Not sure if it’s going to be under manufacture warranty..
What if I don't have records because I change it
I have a 2016 sorento and I’m currently going through this but they are giving me hell about replacing why? Idk I’m so frustrated!
@@jaebee88 hey I have the same car and problem did you buy your car used, I need someoneto talk2 about it, can you text me , so you have facebook?
@@Brandon-21MN same with me. My 15 cadenza shares the same 3.3L sorrento but they haven't said a word about the cadenza being recalled. No letter or anything as far as updates either. And just recently my connecting rod bearings started to fail. Ran perfect and I did my own oil changes to be sure I knew what was being done. I only ran penzoil full synthetic with mobile one filter. Noticed shavings on my last change then not even 2 weeks and it started knocking at start up and acceleration so it's been parked ever since
Thanks, this was on the money and very vehicle specific. I believe the 3rd gens started in 2016 though (although the one in your vid is 14 or 15).
+Cod3 Man The type of power steering fluid that is specified for your vehicle should be marked on the PS reservoir or filler cap.
The 3rd generation Kia Sorento has an electronic power steering system. No fluid needed.
Every time I open a 1A Auto video, I Pray that it will be Len who greets me. Today is a good day.
Is that for US only or Worldwide ?
Which engine is better, the 2.4 or the 3.3V6, does the 4 cylinder has the same issues or worse?
Both of them are bad, v6 is less bad.
V6 is the better engine

I solved the head lights issue with LED bulbs. They run cooler...
Looking to get one, hopefully a 2018, do they have heated windscreens, and if not, how long to clear thin layer of ice?
You probably did this video a while ago, but when I first start my 2018 kia sorento in the morning and travel to work, approximately 10 klm away, when I park and turn off engine there`s a loud rattling noise direcly under my vehicle near it`s center. Any ideas as to what this may be?
Good overall info. Thanks!! But... should mention to NOT touch headlight bulb when replacing.
I have a 2016 Sorento. Issues with the bulbs -check. AC lines and now heater. Radiator cap wasn’t keeping pressure.
Did you just replace the radiator cap ?
Hugs for this guy.
Lots of great info.
Short sweet clear.
And he keeps it moving along. Ty
The engine issues you talked about was mainly if people dont keep up their mantenaince. Any vehicle, not just Kia will experience engine issues if the oil isnt changed, if low quality or improper oil is used.
Agree
The engine issues pertain only to the 4 cylinder models . They weren’t built right. I know people that had their engines seize on them while driving
Apologies for the noob question, how do you get the update
I found that the headlights would last a lot longer on KIA’s if you don’t slam the hood down hard. I learned this from frequent light changes on a Optima and Sorrento and once I did not slam the hood down problem went away.
Love your enthusiasm shown in your vid's great knowledgable advice. Keep up the good work.

Man o man you do a lot of driving! Mine’s a 17’ with almost 38k
Just bought one 2014 79k miles.. this was very helpful 👍..
+Multidimensional Traveler Thanks for taking the time to check us out, we appreciate it!
@jonmccormick8683 cold you tell me which best brands do you recommend ? Thank you 😊

The engine block at the end. Is it from a subaru?
I would buy this one again if I had to...
i was kinda shocked reading this. we have the SAME exact problem. mine has 130k miles and has been amazing other than the issues you’ve stated

I have a 2016 kia sorento with a weird knocking sound when I accelerate past 65 miles an hr, it's when I let the gas pedal off when I'm slowing down
My Kia Sorento has been sitting there for 11 months due to rattle sound.

what's the best advise on this?
I appreciate watching this video.
These Kia V6 motors like clean oil and full trust me I have the 3.5 in my 2012 sedona and it makes that noise on start up if they oil is not always full. If you want this engine to last a long time try not to do short trips in the city. If you live in a cold place in the winter make sure to plug in the block heater and synthetic oil is a must! These V6 kia hyundai motors are good just take care of them the 3.3 the 3.5 and the 3.8 Lambda II is good.

How do you check electric steering if your steering wheel feels like its sticking a little sometimes?
I don't buy the headlight theory that the wiring resistance is too low. The headlight bulbs are designed for a specified voltage range of alternator voltage for all 12V vehicles. The problem can only be that the alternator control of output is poor, or possibly the headlight units are sufering a high degree of vibration or physical shock. I am an electronics engineer
Do these apply to the 3rd generation Kia Sedonas too?

Have you seen a failed oil level sensor? I noticed a small leak and low oil during my last oil change. My 2016 Kia Sorento was 2-3 quarts low after less than 1000 miles after changing the oil. is fixed now, and if not what is the solution?

I have the exact same symptoms with my 2018 Kia Sorento
What model and motor is it?
How many miles on it?
Bought the 2016 Kia Sorento, had it for about 4 years just hit 95k miles, did my regular maintenance, I was heading towards Vegas with my wife, all of a sudden, check Engine light came on at 10pm middle of no where. The car started to slow down didn’t have any service, had to walk to the gas station, tow the car back home which costed 1k bucks. Took the car to the kia service shop, and found out that the we needed a new Engine!!! Rod bearings gave out.. really disappointed. Not sure if it’s going to be under manufacture warranty.
Oil pressure sensor issue. Or the bolts backing out of the block at 100000 miles.
Anyone know how to replace the steering wheel nedia controls?
Will a rattling timing chain tensioner on startup cause any problems?
+Shane Lockhead Yes, this could cause issues with start up, however, we suggest having the vehicle professionally looked at as we cannot diagnose online.
1A Auto Parts thanks. My fear is the chain snapping and making a break for freedom through the casing!
@@raftonpounder6696 if you have a vvti engine then is the camshaft making the noise.
2015 kia sorento 6cyl started leaking oil into coolant resevoir...not overheating no smoke coming from tail pipe. Holding pressure ..can't figure it out ..🙄
