If you are talking about this as a USED CAR, REPAIR COSTS AND REPAIR FREQUENCIES, RELIABILITY, ETC. should be foremost, not option packages and running costs. With used cars it is all about repairs as all of that electronics is very expensive to repair. The driving experience is all about feel, performance, and reliability.

The problem is the 3.3L V6 versions of this vehicle have the head gasket issue because Kia or its suppliers did not assemble the engines correctly - they sent out a notice in December of 2023 about this issue extending the warranty to 15 year / 180,000 miles to fix the head gasket issue. My family's 2016 Kia Sorent 3.3 L V6 experienced this issue. So we had it towed to the dealership. The dealership techs diagnosed it as the head gasket issue. But it's been there for 3 weeks and they keep saying Kia America, Inc. needs to authorize the repair before we can get a rental and get the engine replacement that Kia America HQ promised to FIX! The service is absolutely abysmal. I cannot recommend these vehicles anymore because of the engine issue and terrible service we are receiving.

Umm...my 2019 apparently does not have that issue!

@@curbozerboomer1773 It doesn't affect the 2019's. It affected the 2016's and 2017s. The dealer eventually performed the engine swap (although it apparently doesn't come with new fuel injectors) and did give us a rental ONCE they authorized the repair.

I have this car, diesel. 7 years now. Just changed the rear absorbers. Not sure if I want to buy a new sorento since it still drives well.

I own a 2019 Sorento, with AWD...bought it in 2020, it had 18,000 miles on it. Today, is shows 71,000 miles, runs like new...the big V6 has nearly 300hp, and this makes the Sorento into a rocket, when you stab the accelerator. The AWD works very well...all in all, this is the best used car I have ever owned--and I have owned at least a dozen used cars. It is all about maintaining a vehicle, doing the scheduled services, etc. I plan to achieve 200,000 miles at least, with this excellent vehicle!

I have a 2016 Sorento LX AWD with the 3.3V6 and 130,000 miles (US) I have owned for 7+ years and purchased it used with 26,000 miles. It has been a great runner with nothing other than standard maintenance oil changes, brakes, etc. I am overdue for spark plug and serpentine belt replacement. It is running great with 27mpg in ECO mode. My question is; is it worth the cost of this maintenance versus actual value? $1200 US at Kia dealer. Value is only $5200-7200. I'm having second thoughts about spending the money. Ideas?

Yes because some Genius figured out how to steal them using a USB cord now Insurance Companies don't want to insure them.
