There's loads of polished pieces on RUclips. I watch your unscripted efforts because I want to see a genuine video of a bloke having a go at making a few quid by buying a good selection of different car variants.
I agree with you.
Well said, I think we’ve been insulted. 🤔
Sorry to be repetitive but ditto 😂
Yes, it’s like Carwow and Hagerty. One is chaps having fun racing cars and the other one is very well polished and more serious. Both are really great, but I find myself enjoying and watching Carwow way more and it’s not only because of the cars, but the team as well. Same goes for Doug Demuro’s success on this platform, just a regular guy with a passion for cars and sharing it very casually in his own way. It feels organic (because it is) and people can relate to it. Same goes to Matt.
I would just flip the thing as is and take a profit. Auto trader probably
Wait a minute, what's this? High Peak is uploading on a Tuesday?? 😍I saw that Kia Sportage video and liked it alot!
Yes and 2 episodes in a row he overspends 😂
Yes me too I wonder who the other 9 were 😅
I missed one on the 1st Jan so I'm making up for it
Made my day! @@HighPeakAutos
Upping the content creation to feed Matt new found love for roll neck sweaters :)
Matt, your dry humour is excellent and makes this channel one of the best.
Car channels don’t normally have you laughing.
Fantastic work!! ⭐️
The expression Matt's face when he saw the dented bottom, is probably like that of a person meeting someone from a dating App, whose picture is not quite the same as real life.
I thought Matt was going to do a runner.
I guess the reason the reviews don't fly is so many people are doing them, whereas the one video start to conclusion with a side order of 'I've massively overspent' on an old banger is a Matt thing and you at your most entertaining.
If I was going to watch a different type of video, it would be a buying guide to some of the used cars you sell a lot, especially the issues you often find and the fixes etc, because not only is it entertaining but useful.
The most fun I ever had in the motor trade was when I was given a key and sent to pick up some random car, never knowing quite what I would get, apart from no fuel because they never have fuel, it's like an unwritten law.
Agreed. For me though, its not even because everybody does them, to be honest, I don't even watch Matt's car reviews and also no other new car reviews; its just that it's content that Im not interested in seeing, also not from other youtubers. Im subscribed to Matt exactly for the reasons you state and am not interested in reviews of new cars. I want to see how well or bad a shit box on a car park is, how it cleans up, what it costed and what it brought! Also I think its very interesting to hear which are good cars in his eyes, having sold a lot of them, and which are not.
There was a recall by Kia at some point because of excessive rear subframe rusting issues if I remember correctly. Also the red reflector thing is a passenger door light cover.
Hahah this was my grandads car, he traded it in at Suzuki and bought a new Ignis, just FYI that's not the state we left the car in 🤣 It didnt have any dogs in it or any farm use. The car wasn't used badly offroad just up to a clay pigeon shoot and back, the car was definitely used and abused since we traded it in and you bought it, gonna show him this video and ask him if he forgot he had those glasses 🤣
like you said in the video, a simple formula! Which is exactly why the series "I bought a cheap" performs so well! it's addictive, keep up the great work Matt!
Is it true that the "wonder grip" van is now on AirBnB as a static caravan that's being rented out for fell walkers on a walking holiday on the moors?
Brilliant video as always..I like the fact you say it how it is and don't waffle like some. You are the master at making this type of car purchase review videos.
Please don't stop making them.
Looking forward to the next 🙂👍
Thanks!
Always love the Alan Partridge references!!
Get yourself on a car show matt you are a perfect fit for it. We would all watch it. Great video as always!
Maybe one day!
nah, it's better to do your own thing nowadays. after all, the mainstream has gone woke
Actually 12 viewers as I watched it too and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think your problem was the subject - KIA! Not inspiring to a lot of people but I found the transformation of the brand truly eye opening.
Keep up the good work Matt and try new things from time to time, it is appreciated….
A lot of brand snobbery about Kia. I predict in 20 years time they will sell more cars worldwide than all the German brands combined.
Love your content Matt hope your well keep up the great work ❤
I personally really enjoyed the Kia Sportage video and it was in fact the video that introduced me to your channel so I would definitely watch anymore like it.
Watched original Sportage vid and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I thought that video on the sportages was brilliant really enjoyed it. To see the way they’ve changed through the years was amazing.
I've watched all of your videos. Enjoyed the lot including the Kia one 😊. Keep them coming. Best channel by far.
This lad must be the only car dealer that go through all this trouble to sell a used car , because all the deals I've had dealing with don't give a 💩
I loved that Kia video. Some quality cd's there 😂😂. I am glad you overspent as it turned out great, and I am glad you saved it. Loving the content and videos.
Mate honest video as always keep them coming
I was one of the 11 viewers and really enjoyed seeing the evolution of the Sportage. Always good to see you mixing up the content, it keeps it fresh and interesting. Feel like KIA have really upped their game with the latest generation. Great content as always 👍🏻
Your video content and ideas are both interesting and varied. Like seeing all of them, and thanks to your Vitara video I bought one last year that I love. Need to go back to your Brera video and find one of them too
I had one of those in silver and loved it. Probably one of my favourite cars (apart from the current one which is a Forester on General Grabber AT3's!). They really are a great car. Enjoyed the other video on the Sportage history as well. 👍
Loved the Kia Sportage, through the years video, keep them coming
Another great video matt cheap cars are such a gamble and so entertaining to watch. Another pair of glasses for your collection and CDs for your Dad😂
Great video. Another car saved. Jimmy needs an OBE for cars. And so do you Matt, for all the cars you saved of course...
Matt's environmental credentials would resonate with the King, so an honour at some stage could happen.
@@beamer.electronics also their love of Range Rovers...
Imagine that...
Yes indeed, Jimmy ought to be nominated for an OBE, for furtherance of vehicular cosmetic appearance......
Well done Jimmy I say. The original Kia Sportage history video was great. More of them type of video if possible. Do the Toyota RAV4 is my call. Good viewing as always Matt.
My dad's friend has a Sportage preface lift I believe 2006 and possibly a CRDI engine.
these things are pretty good and I love them!
Something about this format of video.....really interesting. Shows you how/ what to look for on a used car 👍🏻
Wow that rear subframe ! Shocking.
Not perhaps what you might expect in this day and age. Rather like an old Austin 1100.
@@foxstranglerYou obviously aren't familiar with Audis and MINI then lol
More than familiar, been playing with real cars for 55 years, and I know a rustbucket when I see one. I used to own an F model Vauxhall Victor.@@andrewmooreandrewrmoore7615
I watched the Sportage History video and really enjoyed it. I quite like when content creators mix things up and do something different, especially if it's something they are keen to do. I hope you at least enjoyed making it even if it wasn't the success you were hoping for.
Keep up the videos man, best RUclipsr on the platform😊
Wow, thanks!
Being a car dealer is definitely your edge on RUclips and the reason people flock to that flavour of content on your channel. That said I think there's room for you to grow into proper grown up car review material - your "should you buy" series is proof enough. Can't speak for anyone else but my reason for not being one of the 11 is the Kia Sportage being (imo) among the most dull cars put on sale. Keep at it!
Fair enough. Cheers
Good to have you back Matt! 😅
Great video as always, cheers.
Hahaha thanks
It's great to see your CD and glasses collection is coming along with all those that you find.
There will soon be an "I've overspent" car boot sale table, with all the bits and bobs Matt finds in the cars he buys.
You’re a good man matt
You’re right: videos of trade ins you are trying to turn round ARE more interesting than reviews of a model range history! Keep at it Matt, the car was worth buying just for the CDs and reading glasses.
Just logged onto YT to see another great video from Matt!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Matt, your "overspending" is such an endearing trait. I also like your uploads mainly because of how the vehicle gets cleanup after you bought it. Keep up the tremensous work, Matt.
Don't give up on the polished pieces love the Kia Sportage video honestly think you jayemm on cars and auto Alex could be the new automotive trio
I do prefer this type of original format compared to the more arty cinematic productions.
Also, how you omitted the "Give me 2 weeks" etc, when we never have to wait more than a few seconds to find out.
Keep up the good work! 👍
Let’s face it,it’s not everyone that can afford a new car,I can’t,I’ve always had second hand so these videos are welcome to find out what to look out for.i like your content a lot, keep it up please.👍👍👍👍
"Jimmy the Magician" indeed. His prices are the stuff of miracles. My bodyshop would be dropping another zero on the end.
I watched your Kia video from start to finish. It was excellent. 👍
Hi Matt, nice little 4x4 for someone local to you for towing a horse box .Good luck with the sale. Cheers Phil from Newark
Matt start a documentary honestly can’t get enough of your videos favourite car RUclipsr on the net right now
Thanks!!
“Well we’re here”😂😂
Need to get that slogan on your merchandise Matt! Great videos.👍
I’m genuinely impressed by your offer to split the cost of the cam belt with you the buyer. Once again Matt, you show what an honest trader you are. 👏
Great result - Bravo!!
Very slick video. Great stuff, Matt.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video HPA, great work Matt, nice car, think it was worth spending on👍👌😀
I think I was one of those 11 too. Was rather envious of that trip and having a run in the latest Kia. Keep at it, I enjoy your content Matt. 👍
Your only human,great work again...🎉
Hello matt great video as usual.
I watched your video about best automatic cars under 5000 £.
Could you make another video for a budget less than 10000 £ ?
Well it certainly turned out champion in the end 😁 well worth saving in my opinion 👍 and what would you do without Jimmy the Magician 💪 just make sure he never loses his wand !! Those valeters of yours definitely need a blue Peter badge for their efforts too !!
It never fails to amaze me how many people part ex cars that are in this ones state, they keep many people in work at their expense.
Mad this video has already more views than the polished Kia video. I think people just prefer your honest genuine car dealer stuff I love it
Unfortunate about your other videos Matt, I do really enjoy these ones more though. I click on them instantly, you’re doing great Matt I really look forward to these videos.
In my opinion we have all brought a lemon at some point and overspent you remind us we are not alone
Cracked me up going through those CDs with the glasses on, brilliant
Just got home from a tiding day of work. Taking my dinner. Opened youtube cuz I watch utube with food. N new highpeak video means my day ends in heaven ❤️
Wow, Jimmy really is a magician! I wish I could find someone like him where I live to do some magic on my car. Love your videos Matt. Thanks!
awesome video, hope this selss quickly for you. Was th Picanto you saw the 1300 mile one you did a video about?
Hi Matt, another great video and a nice car, had it been automatic id have been interested, yes i still have the Lexus you sold me, but im sure we could have worked out a deal. All the best from Nick the Lexus guy in Wolsingham.
Another top upload Matt. I'm sure you'd agree that we, the RUclips general public, enjoy your bargain end of content. However, I love the audi A8 that you seem to have kept for yourself (for now) 😂
Thanks Matt, enjoyed the vid, some good points to consider if I'm looking at a Sportage. Nice to see another addition to your eyewear collection. How many pairs are you up to now?
Nice job Matt , and another decent car saved
Wonder?! I really like the Kia-all-models movie? Well, well, as i said earlier, you tipped me over to buy the best car i ever had/has, the Lexus RX 400h. Thanks alot! Greeting from Sweden
Is it 2 videos a week now Matt ? Love it ,btw the glasses suit you 🤣
Nice surprise on a Tuesday. Cheers Matt!
Hope you enjoyed it!
I was waiting for you to put those glasses on 😅😅😅 by the way great video Matt
Love it! Can we have more Partridge quotes please? 😂
I have a 2008 Sportage with a 2.0 liter petrol engine. A really good car still with no faults and no rust really. Loved your Kia Sportage special episode btw. 👍
I had to laugh when you couldn't see anything through someone else's specs! Great vid and I'm glad you kept another one on the road.
As soon as the glasses went on, I lost it 🤣 another brilliant midweek uplift from you!
Glad you enjoyed it
I'll probably be buying second hand cars most my life so these videos are always a go to for me. I will watch the showcase videos if there's nothing else to watch
Cheered me up no end when you pulled up wearing the previous owners glasses and then went through the cd collection 😂
Great car. 2004-2010 was the Hyundai / Kia high point with this and the old Sonata. Well done on saving it! And who doesn't love a bit of Frank?! Bonus!
I watched the Kia episode and thoroughly enjoyed it
For what little it's worth, I quite liked the Sportage video, and generally like your reviews, though I usually skip the expensive luxury car videos.
Can't wait to see yer review of the Citroen Ami, all you need is a Moped license /16 years old.
I'd love to see your cars getting all their work done, that's a huge interest of mine and the reason I love salvage rebuilds, mat armstrong, not economically viable etc etc etc, I'd love to see Jimmy the magician work his magic and your mechanics fix these cars up to showroom standard
I can so see Matt taking over top gear if it’s ever brought back. The nostalgia I get from these videos 😫
Thanks! Very kind
No he's better than that woke programme.
it's testament to your presenting skills and style of video that brought me to watch this video. I have zero interest in the car but, would happily watch you discussing the density of custard skin!! Well done!
Wow, thank you!
Oh don't you just love it when Matt overspends massively! 😍
I lost it with the glasses in the nose. 😂 Soo grumpy Matt
Great video Matt.
This Kia Sportage has been made to look a lot more presentable, going too far with refurbishment would make no sense considering its age and value.
I think you’ve made the right choice, it looks more than acceptable for its age, and after the valet, it’s very usable❤.
Matt, I've been watching your videos since pretty much the start.
This format of video is relaxing and allows one to listen as well as look so its a great background channel. Whereas some review channels.are too high tempo and, if you blink, you miss a slide or a spec or too much detail.
You're not German, you're not Germanic. You're a Northerner lad, so your tempo and delivery style suits me, an Irish man. I want knowledge, banter, heart over head etc etc. While I appreciate the rigour of LRTime, husband and wife Landrover lovehaters, and their German humour, I dig what your channel is about. You don't just like buying and selling cars, you like keeping them and secretly wish you could keep more (most) of em.
Even the Citroens. I've had 3 Xantias. Big hit with the ladies, especially the French and ex French colony honeys. They reckon I'm a stubborn Francophile millionaire. Who else would insist on driving em? Much like Rovers 😂.
Anyway, you love cars which means you have a secret shed filled with Citroen Renault and Peugeot relics. Maybe even an Aixam to impress an eco warrior bird or two.
We watch because you do what we HOPE most dealers do (but they don't). You do proper work to bring a car back to forecourt condition. So a bit more emphasisnof that narrative would be good. Around the topic of right of refusal. Maybe thats too close to the bone as arming v troublesome types. But people will watch, and people will pay for, cars that have had proper work done. It shows great initiative and often inspires people to look at at potential buys, or their own daily drive, or their potential trade-in, afresh. Its great education fullstop.
We love it. Crack on my man 🎉
I watched your video on 30 years of the Sportage and thought it was great 😊
We've got one of these in Spain - it's indestructable but has a 2.0 litre petrol engine and is very heavy on fuel. The sun visors have failed too and are held up with tape!
I own a Sportage mk3 and loved your video on each generation. I suppose the appeal comes to people for those who own the make / model and the videos you make for the cars you could yourself own have a bit more appeal. 👍
I think Wondergrip have learnt the art of product placement! (Got to be a few quid in it for you Matt!)
I enjoyed the Sportage vid 🙂
That really did come up well nice one and still in profit ❤
Another great vidio
Man I'm so glad the old Matt is back. Rescuing cars by massively overspending. Doing jobs no one would ever do to an old car.
Hahahah
Prayed for a Partridge style rendition of Carpenters "why do birds"...😂😊 Do you get pics of any damage/condition when offered a car, that was a good recovery i thought of it was crispy underneath you might have passed on it but it actually looked great after👏well done!
Another banger again!
Love your new glasses Matt! 😂
