Lil buddy, at least how you described him, feels more like a replacement for spy's sapper than anything else, seeing as it essentially recreated that one ability from the Halloween zombie mode to an extent
God dangit you mentioned smallfry and now my brain is just picturing having him be a throwable weapon, like you said, but giving him to scout and just launching him with the baseball bat. Its so stupid and I love it
Thoughts about the general weapon concept: Stamper - I feel like the teleportation isnt very stamper-like, especially due to its main role in S3 is more offensive. I feel like having it be given the charge slash dash would be a better choice, since it would also help spies in situations which enemies are just out of reach. Maybe require the spy to be uncloaked to use it. Wiper - I'd say it would be good how you described it, but maybe change ink to wiper fluid so it has the movement buff and could work with pyro to act as a burning puddle (may be too much tho, so ink is fine) Brella - Love the idea to give heavy an additional tank option which also helps offensively by himself Smallfry - Good idea, would be good to give sniper something to alert himself of where enemies are, either defensively with spies, etc. and offensively to know where to aim. Splattershot - Pretty good idea, but I feel like the different modes fit another weapon like squeezer more. Trizooka - Due to it shooting 3 rockets at once with lower self damage, it would be the perfect bombing weapon due to the larger launch given, so I enjoy the concept. That concludes my overly thought-out thoughts about your concepts. Also, nice vid 👍
I loved this video!! The Gmod bits were hilarious! The small fry idea especially I could see being a great idea. I mean the bread mad milk already puts a bread monster attacking on players heads… so why not use that concept for a whole new weapon
MvM and Salmon Run crossover, or Salmon Run MvM mode. Imagine, the Inklings and Octolings being able to upgrade stats like swim speed or ink saver, or expand that with the stats of the weapons. Power eggs are such a clear currency that can be used to pay for upgrades, ink brush can be upgraded in dps to actually splat cohocks in a reasonable time. The potential is limitless
For a part 2, why not giving Medic the ink vac? A medigun that instead of giving invincibility to the medic and patient blocks bullets, explosives and fire then trows it all back to the enemy team
the shield has to be quite big for heavy to be safe behind it beside i dont think it will get much use considering there are more than one option to just, shooter over it, and the splatoon map creators most disliked feature "flanks" exist in TF2 too xd
It's still an option, and why it likely be pretty big. I'd still want it because it be nice for Fat Scout and that's the only way I ever play Heavy myself😅😂
one thing to note about the splatana wiper is that the ink attack would have to be changed to a different button cause the shield/stickybomb launcher takes the alt-fire button
Yeah I thought about that while actively uploading this, so it was too late to correct it.Thankfully it's easy enough to bind keys in TF2. So if it was real it be rebinded to something else.
I feel like you coulda have done something different with stamper: appropriate the dash move that happens when you charge slash while holding forward. Basically spy could charge up a meter by holding right mouse and after a little time get that dash forward to close the gap and get the stab, the downside being that it makes you more obvious and maybe the dash makes some sort of sound. This concept feels way closer to the original weapon while still being useful to spy. You could also make the hit after the dash a minicrit or something if its not a backstab but its not strictly necessary.
i'd adjust the wiper's timer: make it LONGER. 20 seconds while being shortened through dealing damage and unaffected by respawn cabinets and respawning in general. speed in tf2 is a strong thing, as it lets you pick your fights. arguably the most powerful tool in all of tf2.
also 200 hp is a LOT with the brella thing. the reason the wrangler is so powerful is BECAUSE it gives the sentry ~140 effective hp. 200 hp is just. far too much
now, smallfry is. ok. probably remove the visible through walls thing, sniper is going to be in the backlines. meaning his interactions with other class is just. dieing. for spy's, sniper already has an anti-spy weapon: the razorback, and a spy can still backstab you even if they're visible (and revealing a cloaked spy is too strong) and any non-spy class close enough to trigger it means you're already dead, as sniper has no real way to defend himself without an smg, aka a secondary BUT, the whole... damaging enemies thing? not bad. not bad. however, i reckon it should like. heal 20 hp for shooting it off, otherwise people are just going to laugh taunt at the person who has it on instead of helping them. it took giving 20 hp on an extinguish for pyro's to start airblasting teammates.
and the trizooka is too close to the beggers bazooka. and, the swirling motions is just. it makes it pretty useless unless your right in your enemies face.
All fair points and criticisms. Love TF2 but I'll admit I am not even close to having that much TF2 experience ~200 hours (newer fan but I've known of it since the meet the team videos).
Tri-Stringer: I am torn between making it a Sniper Bow or a Sidegrade of the Grenade Launcher. Bow: Lower damage and slower charge but fires three arrows. Does slightly more than the Huntsman if all three hit. Grenade Launcher: Slow firing but fires three grenades that stick to surfaces and then explode instead of rollers. The explosion splash damage would be weaker but directs with all three would deal more damage than stock. Would charge like the Loose Cannon.
Sorry for the absurdly long comment but here’s some things I thought. I liked the vid, cool stuff. I have this weird gut feeling that Smallfry would be better as a Engineer secondary. Just give it a more mechanical look and it should look fine.(Engineer has like 3 secondaries he needs another one imo) Also invisible Spies shouldn’t be affected by the visibility we have enough weapons that screw over Spy. Also also give the Trizooka a slower reload. We need to give the Beggar’s justice.(It being a similar idea)
All really good ideas! I actually meant to mention spy wouldn't be affected by smallfry since I don't want to be cruel to Spy mains. They already have it rough😓
heres a game for tf2 short stop lovers. its called short push go to steel get on last point with the short stop and make sum one elts use short stop then try to push each other of the point and into the abiss also there is a small plat form under the point if you fall of but land on it the mach restarts who ever pushes the other man off first wins. also the tri zooka shuld have the rockets fall down ver time and have the rockets be slower
coming back here to say i had a dream that splatana wiper was added as a spy weapon edit: had another idea. literally just tenta brella on scout. scout is meant to be annoying and force the enemy to waste resources trying to kill him, something which the tenta brella is also extremely good at, though for very different reasons. plus brellas are already the shotguns of splatoon so tent already behaves like a scattergun. it'd probably need big downsides to be balanced, like a health penalty, mobility debuff, or something similar, but it could be fun and open up more support-oriented playstyles on scout
Now all we need is TF2 in Splatoon! I always thought that we need a spray paint can that does damage over time would be an awesome flamethrower parallel in game. Plus.. rocket launcher. That is all.
I could see the Trizooka being a number 1 pick for Trolldiers with no sense of self preservation. Having almost the instant transmission of an Engi's Wrangler Jump at a moment's notice due to the knockback of 3 whole rockets just seems to fun to let yourself worry about how much health you'd lose. Balance wise, it might make sense to lower the knockback for the sake of map design and the poor Free-To-Plays who don't know why they are now a mile in the air above a pit on Upward... But only might.
That's a fair point. The three rockets were why I thought self damage reduction be nice but you're definitely right, it be super confusing for new players
I would think the Brella would be better on the Scout because he is a glass cannon and having a defence option is good for him. And the Brella is based on a shotgun which is the bread and butter of any Scout.
give sniper the bamboozler and/or reef-lux (tristringer doesn’t really fit the role the bows play in tf2) probably increase the damage of reeflux to have two bolts kill, while decreasingn the damage bamboo does to two full charges and a partial because of sniper’s infinite range
I honestly think the splattershot would work better mimicking scout's cut nailgun (which you might know better as medic's syringe gun), at least in that it's. y'know. a full auto weapon. the octo shot could even be implemented as a reskin :3
soooo trizooca = better beggers bazzoca where you dont need to hold down shoot button to reload and you get ammo from dispenser without holding something else?

Still, i don't understand making the *stamper* a knife. It doesnt feel like it plays into what the stamper is very well

@@GardenAsada a fair enough point! I also saw your video about giving the TF2 characters their own weapon kits and saw you gave Stamper to spy there too, and I felt you explained your thoughts there a bit better on stamper being a good knife for him

having a blaster would a be super interesting concept for demo. Minus the ink, you wouldnt even need to change much. it would shoot out in a straight line, then explode after a set distance. If it hit a player it would do 100 damage, if it hit a wall it would have a smaller explosion. I'm great at this
