    I just love your videos , I can relate to them so much and the information you give is so helpful 😃 3 years ago I had chronic ocd, I still have ocd now and get anxiety daily but I’ve learned to not be as scared and I live a normal life again. Watching your channel and videos has helped me tremendously as I couldn’t afford to pay for help so thank you! ⭐️

    Everytime my husband goes out when he gets back he has a really bad ocd panic attack. Getting worse and worse. Seems like his mind is trying to stop him going out. He suffers intense head ache, back pain, chest pain. How can he stop it.

    What do you do when you’ve confronted the fear and applied acceptance and the intrusive image is still there.

    • @aguywhohikes1271
      @aguywhohikes1271 8 месяцев назад +2

      Hey Hanikayy - Usually a lot more time is needed but something I notice in how you said that (and this is exactly what we all do) was this - "Why is it still there". What you may be doing (and I mean you're definitely doing it lol) is watching your suffering like a hawk "I DID ACCEPTANCE AND WHY ARE YOU NOT GONE!". This is a subtle mistake fueled by the fear of never getting better.

      @@aguywhohikes1271how do you stop watching it like an internal hawk? When i have a good couple of days… then next day and think why are you still there for the next 4 days

      I think the key is that we must learn to live with it, the images, sensations, etc.

    What does rumination include? Is having thoughts like you said when you with your girlfriend or wife and your thoughts are going this person is ugly or I’m not interested in what they saying . Is rumination just intrusive thoughts?

    • @aguywhohikes1271
      @aguywhohikes1271 8 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Husain - Absolutely, intrusive thoughts/ images/ sensations and urges are all part of the automatic rumination cycle.

    OCD cycle is irrational fears. Core Fears are misplaced and accentuated unprocessed rational fears built on irrational beliefs.

      Hey Josh! Absolutely, OCD thrives off irrational beliefs.

    You mentioned that this is worst in the mornings. Do you know why? I wake up around 4:30am everyday and my thoughts and symptoms start. Always have that nauseous pit in my stomach (I suffer from emetophobia) and of course the constant thoughts. It slowly, very slowly, gets better as the day goes on. I feel the best around 6-7. Go to sleep thinking it’s going to be a better night but nope, 4:30 am starts the cycle again.

    • @aguywhohikes1271
      @aguywhohikes1271 8 месяцев назад

      Hey Kerinac - I would imagine, as it was for me, purely a fear of fear cycle. You know exactly how and when it's going to happen. The key here is to break down this belief "OMG the mornings are terrible because I know exactly what's coming!"

    Rumination is compulsion or not is an irrelevant question. A bigger question is what exactly are you referring to as rumination.
