Wilt Chamberlain 55 rebounds in a game. 50 point average for a season. 100 points in a game. Season average of 27.2 rebounds for a season. Over 48 minutes a game for a season. Those are 5 unbreakable records by the same man.
1.Wilt used to work out with the Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) during the time when Arnold first came to the U.S. as a bodybuilder. Wilt got his bench press up to 500 pounds. Shaq could only bench about 450, probably less now. 2.When Wilt was 59 years old, he was STILL able to bench 465, which is more that Shaq has ever been able to do. Wilt was 63 when he died. 3.Wilt averaged 46 minutes per game over the course of his career, and in 1962, Wilt only sat out EIGHT MINUTES of the ENTIRE SEASON. He was ejected with two technicals with eight minutes to go in one game, but played every minute (including overtimes) of each of the other 79 games that season. As a result of playing more minutes of overtime than he sat out during regulation, Wilt averaged 48.5 minutes per game that year, even though a regulation game is only 48 minutes. 4. 60's era in which Wilt played, was a more physical era. There were no sissy flagrant or hand-check fouls during that time. Refs allowed those physical tactics go unpunished because the owners and NBA management believe that blood and violence was what brought people to basketball games back then. 5.The physical play was so rough against him that Wilt actually retired after his rookie year. He wrote a piece for Look Magazine about the NBA being a bush league, but the Warriors' owner talked him into coming back, even though Wilt was ready to hang it up. 6.the average height of NBA centers back in Wilt's day was 6'10". Wilt towered a mere three inches over the opposition. Darral Imhoff, the center against whom he dropped the 100 points is 6'10. Bill Russell, the second best rebounder in league history and the center on which he grabbed a record setting 55 rebounds (but the Celtics won the game by three points) is also 6'10". 7.You don't see Yao Ming endangering these records, even though he has a four inch advantage over your average centers today. Besides, Walter Dukes is 7'1", Swede Halbrook is 7'3", and Mel Counts 7'0". How come none of these 60's players put up the same numbers as Wilt did? Height is not the reason for Wilt's domination 8.Wilt was a shot put thrower, a champion high jumper, a track star, and a triple jumper. He could bench press 550lbs back in college. The man is also in the volleyball hall of fame and he only began seriously playing this game when he was past 36. 9.What would it be like if a prime 7'1'' 300-pounder with a 55" vertical and a 500 bench press came into the league now? I think he'd expose the NBA for the sham it is today. WHAT ABOUT THIS ErA? 10.he'd definitely lead the NBA in rebounds. He'd average 18. 11.Second, he'd lead the league in blocks. He'd average six or seven. 12.Third, he'd lead the league in shooting percentage for guys over 15 points per game. 13.Fourth, he'd lead the league in free throws tried. 15-20 per game. 14.He would also lead in minutes played at 45 per game. No center could run with him.
Matthew Clark you can't be this clueless you know that they didn't record steals and blocks back then? Do the math it's pretty basic: Wilt averaged around 9+ blocks per game(a study took the recording of his older years and the few games they had and did an average of blocks per game in his 90+ games) one season he averaged 24 points 24 rebounds and 8,5 assists! Put those nubers together and you'll get averages of 24, 24, 8,5, 9 now asks yourself: Did he ever get a quadrouple double in a game? Just a shame they didn't count blocks and steals back then so people today could grasp how dominant he actually was. His PER would be unparalleled! Who knows maybe Wilt even had a Quintuple-double!

I wouldn't call Stockton underrated because compared to other alltime great PGs he isn't anywhere near as good (skill wise). John Stockton was never a top player in the league and was only all nba 1st team 2 times. He was an above average point guard who got a lot of assists and Steals and had an extremely long career. But if you cut the last 5 seasons off his career he might not even be in the HOF. His ridicously long career and his consistency is his only validation for being in the conversation for the greatest PGs of alltime but when you really look at it he had the perfect team for his playstyle.
Nope, if he had been in LA during magics time, they would be showtime in steriods. Had he been in the Rockets in the late 80s, LA showtime would not last long. Had he been with the bulls, Jordan might have retired earlier because their game would have been so much easier that I think Jordan will be bored to death of how easy he will be playing the game. Had he been with LA in Shaq and Kobe's time, I don't think that team would have disbanded.
+Pyrvx Kvng Trippin? Bro Scalabrine is the #1 player of all history. He's better than any of these players Mike mentioned. They are pawns compared to him.

I'm literally praying the 2k17 storyline is good 15 and 16 sucked 15 was alright it was kinda dull and cheesy in some moments 16 was just trash I hope 2k learn from their mistakes this time
16 wasn't trash it just showed u how realistic it could be. Players miss in real life a lot and people in real life don't run like sonic the hedgehog. U need skill to play 16
+Knicks 4 Life Kareem is arguable but wilt played in a era with less rules and less athletic players there were only handful of good players in his prime era
+Dell Pc23 how does it make sense to penalize wilt for that? The players were different because the game has evolved and now players have access to far better training methods and knowledge. If you move wilt's birthday up 50 years he would just benefit from all that and be even more athletic. Honestly I believe if he played in the 90's he would have destroyed mj. If he tried to dunk on wilt he'd get his arm ripped off.
Because sadly, no one believes wilt could be as good as he was back then. Put wilt in today's nba with the weak centers they have now, I give him 30-35 ppg, 18-23 rpg, 5-7 apg, 3-6 bpg, and 1-2 spg. He would destroy all the centers
+James Larson um no wilt played all 48 mins and never was fouled or injured. Today's NBA harden plays the most with 38 minutes and that's huge. Coaches would rest him and make him play like 30-34 mins a game and he could get injured. Also there is much much tougher talent then 8 or 9 teams so wilt wouldn't even win the original 2 rings and he wouldn't have all this crazy records he would be a really good center.
sadly i don't believe there will be much tougher talent than in those 8 or 9 teams who were pretty much stacked and were allowed to pretty much play football with your body like it was the NFL, but i think a 26 ppg,16 rpg, 3 apg, 2.7 bpg and 1.3 spg is a way more acurate way for him in today's NBA.
Because Wilt played in a time where everyone else around him were short unathletic white dudes half his size. Barely any real competition in his prime. Put Wilt in Jordan's era, lets see him pull some of that 100 point magic and shit lmao he'd still be a star, but not the legendary status he has now
theres a high school student who beated wilt's 100 point record. His record was 136 points in one game because he doesn't play defense. He is just at the half court line waiting for their opponent to miss and his teamates will rebound it pass it to him all the time
55 rebounds in 1 game, averaged 8.8 blocks in 112 games during the end of his career.... Shows how athletic he was, they did not record blocks anywhere close in his prime, 100 points in a game, the most rebounds in nba history 23,000, averaging 22.9 rebounds for his career, averaged 50.4 points in a season 55 rebounds in 1 game, the greatest stamina in nba history, basically the most athletic/strongest/best nba player. Got to give credit to other players like Bill Russel and Hakeem... But Let's all be honest, Wilt is the best.
Wilt "The Stilt" Chamberlain has 72 Records!!!!!???? What the Heck!!! The 100 Point game will never be broken! The NBA Logo superstar should be WILT not JERRY WEST
one of the best on RUclips in any genre. great content, great analysis, well produced, fun to watch.....I honestly got back into nba ball because of these. keep it mane
Man russell never gets respect when people put out their lists for greatest athletes they say guys like Robinson for breaking the color barrier and they put out a few more athletes that fought for equality but I never see Russell a man who stood with Mlk, a man who stayed in a city that hated him for being black and gave his city the greatest dynasty of any sport, a man who always told us about having that winning mentality but we overlook all of that for records and stats and eras and talent and call him overrated for his HOF teamates but we bball fans never recognize what Russell did
DoubleU Gamer how is wilt better than jordan lol? jordan played the game when it was 100 times harder to do shit wilt was pulling and still is nr1 in ppg in a career.. he also took 2 long brakes to play baseball and golf or whatever it was.. if he didnt do that he'd shit all over kareems most points in career record im sure of it.. compare any modern scorer to him and u'll see they dont stack up with him comparing stats with games played and minutes put in.. do the math u'll see noone comes close.. maybe kobe but even he's behind in like every stat considering he played like what, 300 games more than jordan?
Wilt was undoubtedly the best statistical player in nba history. Here are just some examples. 50.4 ppg for a whole season, 100 points in a game, 55 rebounds in a game, 22.9 for a whole season, 4029 points in a season, 59 points in a half, 1.4 women a night.
Jarzem Bastien Ben Simmons is a Small Forward. Forwards are scorers. Look at the all-time assist leaders list. They are all guards, mostly point guards. Only point guards stand a chance at becoming even close to top 10 on that list.
+Tyrone Jordan shot 43 percent from three the year the NBA shortened the line. If the NBA never made the rules easier for Jordan, he wouldn't have ever held many of his scoring records
in the 60s since their were only 8 teams only the absolute best players on the world made it to the nba and every team was good which makes it just as hard as it would be now to win 11 in 13 years or 8 in a row, yeah theres 30 teams, buy only 8 good ones and only 3 or 4 with a legit chance at winning a champiinship, bill russell is disrespected way to much by idiots that think the nba in his time was really easy but the 60s were the 2nd greatest decade in nba history behind the 80s

I'm literally praying the 2k17 storyline is good 15 and 16 sucked 15 was alright it was kinda dull and cheesy in some moments 16 was just trash I hope 2k learn from their mistakes this time
And that u can upgrade specific stats instead of stat groups
16 wasn't trash it just showed u how realistic it could be. Players miss in real life a lot and people in real life don't run like sonic the hedgehog. U need skill to play 16
+hector prado nigga he's talking about the storyline
+Rep Sosa honestly it was alright I mean it was a bit cheesy but it's a good start
I like how you can make a Asian looking dude called Zhang Lao and be twins of a black woman from NYC called Cee Cee
why isnt wilt chamberlain and bill russel 99 overallz ;^;
2k is broken
Oricadia they have the old version of Wilt. But they have the young version of Bill so he should be higher rated
Oricadia Bill Russel is 99 overall
Alicia Tommila no he isn't he's a 96
theyre injured because i kick them nuts thats why
2:57 I bet no player would want to break this record
John wall is 25 with 4000 assists Mabye he come close?
He is not as durable as Stockton. He could get top 10 if he stays healthy
No
John Wall doesn't get deep enough in the playoffs to make it
+chrharder1 regular season and playoffs are different.. Ur regular season stats are not the same as playoffs
Yeah, Chris Paul is the only current NBA player that has a good chance at overtaking Jason Kidd on the all time assist leaderboard, let alone Stockton
That's 2k not real life
"Records can always be broken, you just got to work hard enough"
How come Michael Jordan is the "G.O.A.T" when Wilt Chamberlin has the most records in NBA history?
+StephCurryEats3s Yes
Jordan isn't the GOAT it's Jordan Wilt and Kareem they're all equal
They played one on one and mj won
+Knicks 4 Life Kareem is arguable but wilt played in a era with less rules and less athletic players there were only handful of good players in his prime era
+Dell Pc23 how does it make sense to penalize wilt for that? The players were different because the game has evolved and now players have access to far better training methods and knowledge. If you move wilt's birthday up 50 years he would just benefit from all that and be even more athletic. Honestly I believe if he played in the 90's he would have destroyed mj. If he tried to dunk on wilt he'd get his arm ripped off.
Thompson already beat most points in a half
Young_ _TB Man he kinda broke a record for most points in a quarter
Dominos pizza bird never scored 62 his career high is 60 xD
If Wilt Chamberlin holds 72 NBA records, then how is Jordan "the greatest player of all time"?
You can believe what you want. I don't feel like arguing. But believe this: Wilt is the greatest center ever and a top 3 player all time
sadly i don't believe there will be much tougher talent than in those 8 or 9 teams who were pretty much stacked and were allowed to pretty much play football with your body like it was the NFL, but i think a 26 ppg,16 rpg, 3 apg, 2.7 bpg and 1.3 spg is a way more acurate way for him in today's NBA.
Because Wilt played in a time where everyone else around him were short unathletic white dudes half his size. Barely any real competition in his prime. Put Wilt in Jordan's era, lets see him pull some of that 100 point magic and shit lmao he'd still be a star, but not the legendary status he has now
“My kids can do that easy.”

theres a high school student who beated wilt's 100 point record. His record was 136 points in one game because he doesn't play defense. He is just at the half court line waiting for their opponent to miss and his teamates will rebound it pass it to him all the time
1:00 Brian Scalebrine!!! The real reason the Celtics had the massive turnaround.

What about going 6-0 in the Finals while winning 6 Finals MVPs?
Bill Russell broke thay
Great video, but the most career triple doubles of 181 will NEVER be broken
Wilt also holds most rebounds in a game with 55
Hey Mike who is your favorite NBA player ?past league and present league
Scalabrine of course. White Mamba 🐐
#5 is crazy but I thought the rookie Tim Duncan and the new and approve Spurs did that? I never realize it was Boston with the BIG! turnaround
New drinking game: down a shot every time this dude says "NBA History"
The bulls could have won 8 in a row if Michael Jordan didn't "retire" the first time
Or maybe 10
What about winning a championship in 3 different Decades does that count as record?
a lot of teams have accomplished that already.
Marcus LeBron no like a specfic player
+Supreme Basuketteboru Timmy D?
+Terrell Stewart yea did someone else did that already besides tim duncan
+Supreme Basuketteboru John salley lol
Not sure what grows faster...your channel or my forehead.
W
You don't have a forehead you had a fivehead now it's more of a sixhead and will soon be a sevenhead
But Let's all be honest, Wilt is the best.
do a what if wilt Chamberlain played in the modern nba
He would be like Dwight Howard
Wilt "The Stilt" Chamberlain has 72 Records!!!!!???? What the Heck!!! The 100 Point game will never be broken!
The NBA Logo superstar should be WILT not JERRY WEST
SBG 10 Wilt was too big to fit in the logo
Why is Jerry west the logo, idk
he's not a human
make that 73 most women slept with in history
SBG YT People are racist back then and Jerry West is a humble player and jerry west is a fan favorite so
Hi guys,i have a question:

Between you and KTO, I have all the nostalgic sports stories I need
What about Kareem's record for most overall points.
that could be broken lebron could do it, others can also but the reason stocktans wont theres rarely pgs who go after assists.
+Dj Stewart u sure because at age 40 u think lebron will average double digit points
+Dj Stewart u sure because at age 40 u think lebron will average double digit points
I think it won't be broken to be honest.
+Dj Stewart lmao lebron will never break it what the fuck are you on
How can wilt chamberlain average 48.5 minutes when there are only 48 minutes in a game
there were games that went into overtime
Jordan Crowe went into overtime
Jordan Crowe overtime
i became a huge basketball fan because of mike
Steph Curry Bandwagon
***** Its pretty obvious you are part of the bandwagon, i don't need to know you personally.
one of the best on RUclips in any genre. great content, great analysis, well produced, fun to watch.....I honestly got back into nba ball because of these. keep it mane
up
Man russell never gets respect when people put out their lists for greatest athletes they say guys like Robinson for breaking the color barrier and they put out a few more athletes that fought for equality but I never see Russell a man who stood with Mlk, a man who stayed in a city that hated him for being black and gave his city the greatest dynasty of any sport, a man who always told us about having that winning mentality but we overlook all of that for records and stats and eras and talent and call him overrated for his HOF teamates but we bball fans never recognize what Russell did
Then we have the absolute guts to say yeah fight for this and that and then call Russell an overrated athelete
Because he is wilt was better in every way wilt never got to play with HoF's till later in his career
Dude back then quality over quanitity every team had 4 or more hofs. T
Ppl like u r absolutely disgusting
Chamberlains so much better than Russell in every department except winning .
I mean the Celtics did have the greatest of all time, the white mamba, the man, the myth, the legend, BRIAN SCALABRINE!!! lol
Riley Hill-Pettipas you suck lol
Riley Hill-Pettipas you can use goat
well now ik wilt Chamberlain better than Michael Jordan
DoubleU Gamer no dude I know it seems like it but the stats changed
DoubleU Gamer just because you found this out? you just don't know basketball
You forgot to mention that wilt Chamberlain. scored 100 points in 1game
graham manigat he did dumbass

+Notorious Nas W
+Pranavdeep Singh 17-65 😂
+Da Doh that was only 8 years ago lol this was the first year in 51 years the cavs have won
just found your channel today.
love your videos, keep it up my friend
What about Chef Curry's 3-Pointer Record??
Jamia Humphrey that's definitely breakable
Jamia Humphrey the video is 3 months old fam
Jamia Humphrey you mean maid curry? Steph is a bitch
Jamia Humphrey broken my guy
Ben Simmons is gonna beat that Assist Record
Nope
+MistaTofMaine why not?
Big men are scorers. Point guards are the only ones who can rack up a lot of assist numbers.
He can make the sixers good why not
Jarzem Bastien Ben Simmons is a Small Forward. Forwards are scorers. Look at the all-time assist leaders list. They are all guards, mostly point guards. Only point guards stand a chance at becoming even close to top 10 on that list.
Where r my celtics fans at?
Right here baby!
hi
Hi

WASSUP!!
The Golden State Warriors: The NBA's Worst Turnaround

+Rex Anongos you made it look like that on purpose we all know that
Wilt better than MJ???? 🌮
HEELLL NO OH OH AW
Debateable. NBA made it tough on Wilt
Yes! As mentioned earlier, nba rules were made against wilt and to help Jordan (3pt line...)
Yep
+Tyrone Jordan shot 43 percent from three the year the NBA shortened the line. If the NBA never made the rules easier for Jordan, he wouldn't have ever held many of his scoring records
in the 60s since their were only 8 teams only the absolute best players on the world made it to the nba and every team was good which makes it just as hard as it would be now to win 11 in 13 years or 8 in a row, yeah theres 30 teams, buy only 8 good ones and only 3 or 4 with a legit chance at winning a champiinship, bill russell is disrespected way to much by idiots that think the nba in his time was really easy but the 60s were the 2nd greatest decade in nba history behind the 80s
also russell made these guys into HOFers, without russell only Cousy would be a HOFer
how many games did they play?
lol. bruh you're fucking insane.
+Fourth of a dwarf 90s were week as fuck
+Fourth of a dwarf 90s then 80s.
Question: if Usain Bolt and Wilt Chamberlain were around and in their prime at the same time, could wilt have beat Usain Bolt in a 100m sprint?
You know wilt is not the strongest person Shaq is he is 315 or 325 pounds
Whats weight have to do with anything nigga
Nigga you saying that just because you weigh more, you are stronger? That's the dumbest thing I have heard today
1998 lakers vs 2017 warrors
*warriors*
I know people say that Jordan is the best, but honestly I think Wilt Chamberlin is the best
Mike Korzemba: Until another team has 8 Hall of Famers, these records are safe!
Golden State Warriors: Hold my beer
Chris Paul might break the assists record
He has to play at least 10 years more at the same level he is playing now, not gonna happen
Yeah right...lol. This might be his last couple of seasons
in his dreams
